After 100 foals, I'm releasing my first foundation adoptable! Been holding onto this guy for awhile XD
Because this guy reminds me of paint, this is going to be a different kind of art challenge C:
To try for him, pick an art movement and choose a piece from that movement. Tell me something about the movement you picked, and what you like about the piece you chose.

Art Movement Name: Rococo
Something about your chosen Art Movement: The Rococo Movement was developed in Paris, France, and flourished under the reign of King Louis XV and King Louis XVI. It symbolized the last style of the French Empire (Followed by Neoclassicism, which represented the first style of the French Republic). Known for being light and playful, this art period reflected a view of one's private life. The art of this period displayed delicate swirls, and could be seen as frivolous and even hedonistic. One of it's main objectives was to celebrate court life, as well as represent an overall celebration of life. It was warm and sensuous, and held key ideas such as love, delight, and the idealistic world. The art from this period can be described as graceful, delicate, and elegant. (Think of Ballet, the dainty dance form developed in this movement!) Some of the notable French artists of this period were Antoine Watteau, Jean-Honore Fragonard, and Francois Boucher.
Piece from Movement:
The Swing, by Jean-Honore Fragonard
What do you like about the piece?: This piece is, without a doubt, a perfect representation of this Art Movement. There is a fluidity of line and movement, and the artist really captures the playful nature of this period with his use of fluffy clouds, full and bushy trees, and layers of lacy ruffles on the skirt. It displays a rather carefree, lighthearted nature. There is also bit of naughtiness to it with the man looking up the woman's skirt, however I think this highlights the fact that this movement was meant to express not only playfullness but also the private lives of people. One of my favorite things about this art piece and this movement in general is how starkly it contrasts the
Baroque period(seen before Rococo) as well as the
Neoclassicism period(seen after Rococo). And, as a little add-on, you may have actually seen this piece featured in Disney's newest movie, Frozen:
x,
x.

If you have questions about a breeding with one of my characters that was previously agreed upon, please message me. I would prefer not to have my character bred any further, if possible.

Art Movement Name: Romanticism
Something about your chosen Art Movement: The Romanticism era was an artistic, literary, and intellectual movement that originated in Europe toward the end of the 18th century. It wanted to capture the human emotions of apprehension, horror, terror, and awe. It was most popular when showing these characteristics of untamed nature.
Piece from Movement:
1759 Shipwreck oil on canvas by Claude Joseph Vernet What do you like about the piece?: I think that this piece shows off the Romanticism era perfectly- nature is at its worst and a ship is going under, terror in the people's faces on the shore and the ominous look to the sky just brings everything together in a perfectly Romanticism way!

Art Movement Name: Der Blaue Reiter
Something about your chosen Art Movement: The name of the movement is the title of a painting that Kandinsky created in 1903, but it is unclear whether it is the origin of the name of the movement, as Professor Klaus Lankheit learned that the title of the painting had been overwritten. Kandinsky wrote 20 years later that the name is derived from Marc's enthusiasm for horses and Kandinsky's love of riders, combined with both love of the colour blue.
Piece from Movement:
Tower of Blue Horses by Franz MarcWhat do you like about the piece?: I quite enjoy the abstractness of it but the rich colors are what called out to me. The way the lines aren't perfect and the shapes that he uses are something that intrigues me as does the spirituality he incorporates into it makes me want to try to attempt it. I like the contrast between the horses and the background, how they compliment each other and everything else with the painting.

Art Movement Name: Hyper-realism
Something about your chosen Art Movement: Hyper-realism is a genre of painting and sculpture resembling a high-resolution photograph. Hyper realism is considered an advancement of photo-realism by the methods used to create the resulting paintings or sculptures. The term is primarily applied to an independent art movement and art style in the United States and Europe that has developed since the early 2000's.

What do you like about the piece?: The extreme detail and effort done in just pencil and the fact that the artist got his details right down to the shading and the careful placement of every hair on his head and face. There is also so much texture in the skin and is overall amazing and stunning.

ClickWhat do you like about the piece?: I love the contrast and the illusion it presents.
Not to mention the fact it reminds me of both assassins creed and skyrim... I found myself staring at the image to find where the people become the water (or vice versa).

Thomas Moran: "Fiercely the red sun descending, burned his way along the heavens"What do you like about the piece?: I like the way the water flows across the canvas and how the sun shines against it. Even more so i really like the way the beam of light burns into the clouds creating the glowing pinks and bold yellows. It even extends into the land mass. The focus and use of light is wonderful, highlighted but not taking the bulk of the focus.

Art Movement Name: Expressionism
Something about your chosen Art Movement: Started at the beginning of the 20th century, expressionism is a style of art which uses contrasting, usually unnatural colors and strokes to convey emotion in the painting. Many famous expressionist pieces, like Van Gogh's Starry Night and The Scream by Edvard Munch use a swirling brush stroke and bold colors in this fashion.
Piece from Movement:
"Large Blue Horses" by Franz Marc What do you like about the piece?: The painting uses rounded strokes for much of the picture, such as in the horses' bodies, the plants, and the hills in the background. Most strikingly, however, are the bold colors used, such as the deep blue for the horses and the fiery reds and golds in the sky. My favorite part of this piece is the way Franz Marc uses this color and style to demonstrate the energy and power of horses, an animal he used quite often in his masterpieces.

Art Movement Name: Cubism
Something about your chosen Art Movement: Cubism is a abstract style of art. Artists like Pablo Picasso would take objects and reassemble them geometrically, depicting that object's truest form.
Piece from Movement:
Figure dans un Fauteuil by Pablo PicassoWhat do you like about the piece?: The painting's depth caused by the three-dimensional shapes. I also love the striking lines, which are made sleeker by the gray and brown colors. You can see the figure, but she is abstract and flows very nicely with the background.
