Everyone knows Rudolph as the heroic reindeer who saved Christmas - no doubt, he is that; it's one of his strongest traits. But, he also goes deeper then that. I feel like Rudolph is a much more humble stallion. He will be a leader and get the job done, but prefers if those around him don't make a big deal about it. This stallion is easily embarrassed by things, probably relating to how he was teased when he was younger. Rudolph enjoys frolicking and playing like a colt, but realizes his other duties and when to draw the line. He is very passionate about things, and can be a perfectionist. When he finds a mare he likes, he will mate with her forever; he is no stud! Rudolph has a lot of perseverance and is very determined - he finds it hard to let go of things. It is not portrayed in most of the movies with Rudolph in them you see, but he is a very tender stallion, who treats every mare like a princess, even if they are not who he likes, and treats every stallion as a prince - he believes in equality and politeness. It is clear to see that Rudolph is overprotective. He is loyal to his friends and would die for them in a heartbeat. He is brutally honest, and refuses to lie over a certain minimum. It is cute how he strives to hit a certain level for himself. Rudolph is a hard-worker, and would work himself to death if someone wasn't there to hold him back. Since growing to a full-grown stallion, he has become patient and even-tempered. He is an encouraging figure in the herd, and is often come to for advice. In short, Rudolph is: heroic, humble, leaderlike, playful, passionate, stubborn, determined, overprotective, honest, patient, and a hard worker [just to summarize.]

Story:
"Mommy, when will Rudolph and the reindeer come with Santa?" It was Christmas Eve, and a young girl set cookies and milk on the table, looking to her mother.
The mother didn't look up from the book she was reading. "Soon, honey. Don't forget carrots for the reindeer." She murmured. Since she was eight, she hadn't believed in any of it. There was no Christmas magic surrounding her, no spirit. A reindeer with a bright red nose? Impossible. Flying reindeer with a fat man? No!
The young girl frowned at her mother, then hurried into the kitchen. There was the sound of drawers clattering open, then closing, until the girl hurried back out with clumps of carrots.
Finally, the mother stood, smoothing her sweater. "Alright, Caroline, let's go to bed. You have to give Mr. Claus time." She said it with little enthusiasm. Picking up her daughter, she paused to lock the front door before stepping up the stairs to where she passed Caroline to her husband. Then, she looked down and hurried to the main bedroom, changing into comfortable flannel pajamas, before briskly slipping into bed. She listened to the voices of her precious daughter and husband from down the hall.
"Daddy, have I been good enough?" Caroline murmured hopefully.
"Of course you have my girl."
"So Santa shouldn't give me goal in my stocking?"
"Not at all."
"Okay Dad."
But there voices faded, because the mother feel into a smooth, lucid sleep.

"Sasha," She hears her mother's voice. She is dreaming.
"Yes Mama?" Sasha replies.
"Papa and I am going off. We will be back by Christmas, to see you open the presents from Santa. Enjoy your Aunt Bella and Uncle Joseph's company, and be nice to your cousins." Her mother and father had work until Christmas Eve, and would get back early Christmas Day.
Sasha smiled as her mother laid her in bed and tucked her in. "I promise Mama, I do."
Her mother smiled broadly, "Good. That's my little girl." She tucked her daughter's hair behind her ear, and then kissed her softly on the forehead. She then strode to the door, flicking off the light and closing the door gently.
Christmas Day [in Sasha's dream]
"Where are they? Where are my parents?" Sasha hopped down the stairs two at a time, gasping at all the presents under the tree speckled with lights. She then charged around the house, into the bedrooms, jumping around. Yet the girl paused when she heard low voices, creeping to the kitchen door and listening to her aunt and uncle talk.
"Why us?" Her aunt was clearly crying, voice distressed.
But her uncle was on the phone.
"Are you sure? Both of them? In the hospital?"
There was another voice on the end, and then the man hung up.
"Rose and Michael both bled out in the hospital. They're dead." Uncle Joseph murmured.
There was a loud sob, and then Sasha shoved open the swinging door.
"No! No, no, no! They're not dead!" She screeched, causing her uncle and aunt to turn abruptly.
"Honey," Her aunt reached out to her.
"Sasha, it was a car crash..." Joseph began.
The girl flinched away, pushing her aunt's hand off. "I hate Christmas! I hate Santa! He gave me something worse than coal!" Sasha fled from the kitchen, up the stairs, and into her room. The girl locked the door and flung herself onto her bed, tears trickling down her face freely. "Not true. I-it can't be." She gasped between sobs. Sasha never opened her gifts, and didn't come out of her room until that night, and she went right back up after grabbing something to eat. Nothing would ever be okay again.

Sasha awoke to the sound of clattering plates and chomping teeth. The mother was now wide awake, stepping down the stairs briskly and peering to the living room. She nearly fainted, seeing a large red coat and the brown fur of a reindeer.
"Why are you in my house?" She said, voice seething with anger.
The man turned. Rosy red cheeks, jiggling jelly belly. It was him. "Hello Sasha! Haven't seen you since you were eight! Well, I'm here for Caroline." He answered.
"Get out." Sasha was fuming, but also surprised. He was real. The reindeer turned too, and she was memorized by it's shining red nose.
"Come here, my dear." She watched him set down the plate after giving the reindeer the last carrot. "You know who we are, don't you? Santa and Rudolph?"
"I don't care who you are." Sasha didn't want to even walk a step closer, but her inner child buried in her pulled her closer. She walked unconsciously.
"I know what happened, my dear. Remember that 'I see you when you're sleeping, I know when you're awake, I know when you've been bad or good'? I'm sorry, I am. But it has nothing to do with me." Santa murmured.
Sasha snarled back, "Don't call me that! It has everything to do with you. I was good as can be, but I got something worse than coal."
Rudolph clopped in front of her, pressing his glowing nose into her arm.

She's dreaming again. Yet its in flashes now. Santa at her house, her parent's car driving along a wet road, gifts, breaking glass, crashes, the clip-clop of hooves, the beep of a hospital's machine going faster and faster, the ho-ho-ho of Santa-
Gasp. Sasha awoke suddenly and nearly fell to the floor, but the reindeer was there to catch her.
"Understand now?" Santa murmured.
Her eyes sparked softly, glistening with sadness and the sparkle of spirit. "I do."
The man nodded, patting Rudolph before creeping over to the chimney and shooting up it briskly. Rudolph started to the chimney as well, but Sasha rushed to him suddenly. "Thank you for showing me the way." The mother hugged him, and then stood quickly. Rudolph bright his face to her hand softly, nose shining brighter and eyes glimmering.
You're welcome. Sasha seemed to hear him in her thoughts.
Rudolph was already in the chimney, though, and he turned to gold glitter, disappearing up it.
Sasha felt woozy suddenly, and she fell into a sleep.

Christmas Day
When Sasha awoke, she was back in her bed and Caroline was leaping around. She started to laugh, harder and harder. Then she plucked up her daughter, who screamed in happy surprise. The mother charged down the stairs, and set her daughter down on her back next to their beautiful tree.
"Look Carey, this is from Santa to you!" She smiled, watching her daughter clutch it, rip it open, and squeal. Sasha looked to her husband, leaning against the wall, smiling, and she grinned back.
All the presents had been opened except for one. The box was green and silver with a gorgeous red lace bow on it, medium-sized. It is addressed in cursive, To Sasha, From Santa and Rudolph. She picked it up, rubbing its red lace ribbon. She then carefully pulled the bow off, pulling the top off. First Sasha read the note attached, which said:
You always believed, you just let anger and fear mask it. I don't blame you. But it resurfaced, as it always will. Enjoy.
She put the note down and then tore off the tissue of the box like an excited kid. Concealed in it was a glistening horse harness, red and speckled with bells.
"You got that from Santa?" Her daughter questioned, looking over her shoulder. Sasha's husband walked over to see.
"I think it's from Rudolph, actually." She replied gently, eyes shimmer. Sasha's daughter and husband couldn't see it, but she could - the faint red glow like that of Rudolph's nose. The harness was encased with unknown magic and beauty, like Rudolph was. Sasha grabbed it in her hand, holding it close. "Its perfect."

Art [of him]:
I finally drew something respectable in the oekai, so here is my art of Rudolph. There is one of him without all the fancy tack and edits, and one with it. [Definitely not the greatest artist, but I thought this was decent.]![]()
Theme Song:
Radioactive - Imagine Dragons
I guess that my thought process for this is the fact that having a glowing red nose is rather, well, irregular. I started thinking about random things like how radiation can cause birth defects and major problems [like possibly an odd nose?]. And then I was looking through my playlist on my phone, and BAM! Radioactive was there. The lyrics kind of boost my thoughts. Instant theme song. I'm a nutball.
Yet, in another sense, Radioactive is a song about having somewhat of an awakening, and deciding to do something. It is about seeing life in a fresh way, almost. It has been also seen as a song of bettering yourself or succeeding, constantly pushing forward. About accepting and embracing some aspect. When I first saw this, I would never match Rudolph and Radioactive together. But digging a bit deeper makes me realize that there are connections that I can make. Think about it - Rudolph was born the odd-ball out, born into a life of teasing. He went into exile for a while, but when he returned he had accepted his shining red-nose and succeeded his dream, even though others had brought him down with unkind words. After embracing his bright nose, he saves Christmas and betters himself, brings himself out of shadows. The song often refers to the "New Age." The New Age isn't necessarily the apocalyptic world, but the new chapter of your life, the hopeful time after sadness, bullying, and exile. Rudolph came into his New Age [coming out from self-exile], excluded his constant teasing, and became an independent. Then he moved forward to become the one who was brave enough to save the whole of Christmas in the midst of fear and danger.Imagine Dragons wrote:I'm waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
I'm breathing in the chemicals
I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
I'm radioactive, radioactive
I'm radioactive, radioactive
I raise my flags, don my clothes
It's a revolution, I suppose
We'll paint it red to fit right in
I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
I'm radioactive, radioactive
I'm radioactive, radioactive
All systems go, the sun hasn't died
Deep in my bones, straight from inside
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
I'm radioactive, radioactive
I'm radioactive, radioactive
Why I absolutely love and want him:
I have always loved Christmas. It is my favorite holiday, for multiple reasons. I love to get in the festive spirit as well; gift-giving and decorating is my forte. I have always loved watching the Rudolph story, no matter how old or childish it is. It's somewhat of a tradition to do it, too, in my family, like making and frosting cookies together is too. Rudolph has also served as a special and outstanding part to my holiday. He's so cute with that red nose! I love to walk around the house and just hum or sing the song [I'm so weird xD]. I remember having this little red ball that lit up during the holidays that I liked to strap on my face and run around. Reindeer are one of the best parts of Santa stories! I just love all of it. If I had to choose a favorite reindeer, it'd be the most famous reindeer of all. Rudolph.
And last but not least their is the beloved Rudolph!
The timer is lying, but I did spend way to much time on his tack, I always do. I probably redid his coat 5 times, none of them seemed right.. and to tell you the truth, I have always imagined him being a deep dark bay. I want it to be that he does not need a rare and gene bomb coat to attract everyones attention, rather that young, frisky, and world defeating look! He has a rather plain harness, and really the only decorations are the four red glowing stones on his chest! Again, I really hope you like him!
