What are listeners?
Listeners are creatures about the size of a house cat. Though they are able to eat and drink, they actually survive on sound. Each listener has a certain sound that it must hear every so often (it varies between 1 month-3 years). Listeners have thick armor on their head and down their back and tend to have longer fur on their tail, the back of their legs, and behind the second plate of back-armor. They also have poisonous spikes on their tails.
