CWHR: Vixen

Postby Penultima » Wed Dec 18, 2013 5:33 am

Sorry for the delay, I couldn't get the harness to look right ;)

This is Vixen! She is a foxy dappled dun friesian cross mare, hence her curly mane and tail and feathering. Her simple harness and holly leaf decor suggest an antique, vintage beauty for a traditional Christmas holiday.

To try out for her, simply decorate your form. Text, pictures, colors, formatting, everything is encouraged. I like pretty and organized forms :3 I'd like you to include decorations related to the theme "Vintage Christmas", so go wild!

You may also add extras, like artwork, sketches, stories, personalities, etc. All will boost your chance of winning!

Vixen has a crazy character. One word to describe her? I'd say "candle". Vixen is like a candle. Not that it's like she is burning, or disappearing like a real candle, but Vixen is like the candle that brings the spark of hope to us. That starts the fire out of the darkness. Vixen is really bright and you can tell that she is a cheerful horse. I've never seen a horse this optimistic before. She is a strong mare and always puts everything into her "work" as well. And I have to add that I've never met a person who disliked Vixen. She has a charm about her that nobody can describe. Maybe it's because she is very feminine. But that's just how I see her. Vixen seems to be very modest, also with herself. That would mean that she doesn't mind her coat getting dirty, but she also likes to be clean. You see, Vixen is very flexible and likes to do what others tell her.
She really is a mare you want to be around. It is hard to describe her, because she cares about everyone and about herself. Vixen is a little diva, but a diva with a very kind heart and true intentions. Likes to be in the spotlight and to please everyone, but behind the stage she always helps out.

.: History :.

Vixen was born in winter, 12 January. Vixen's mother wasn't overly friendly with humans, nor was she friendly with horses. Vixen still searched contact to other foals and also children. She wasn't that addicted to her mother and could handle her life better without the mare. The other foals were all older than her and already weaned from their dams, because they were all born in spring of the previous year. Still Vixen found allies in them and the other foals made her life a lot easier.
Vixen weaned herself from her mother when she was four months old. She couldn't stand the grumpy mare any longer although it was her own dam. From then on she stayed with the other foals, which were already yearlings at that date.
Since Vixen got along well with everyone she always had an easy life. She did what the humans told her to do and accepted anything. After she was broken in at the age of three, Vixen was sold to a riding school were she stayed for several years, pulling carriages and carrying smaller kids around. But soon enough she got sick and no one noticed it. It wasn't her physical health, but her mental health. Vixen had always done what people told her to do, but she never got something back in exchange.
It happened that she was bucking several times, because she was unhappy. She was then sold to a horse dealer, since the riding school owner thought that she was useless when she wouldn't do what she was told to do.
It was a staff member from CWHR who found her and took her to the adoption agency where Vixen was adopted out to Dakota Lake. With the women and her other horses, Vixen developed the personality that she has until now.

Don't they all say the same things and don't they all wish for the same stuff? Humans are really predictable in a way. Always caring for themselves while they talk how much they love the others. Do they really care that much? I only know one creature that loves other lifes more than her own and I want to tell you a story. A story about Vixen. Santa's reindeer?! No, not the reindeer Vixen. A horse called Vixen.
It all started on a sunny winter morning in december.
It was really full in the stables and lots of girls were rushing in and out to get their horses ready for the christmas riding. Vixen looked out of her box, waiting for her girl, but she didn't came. The mare whinnied when she was the only horse left. But to be exact, Vixen didn't mind. It was always the same and Vixen knew how it looked in the riding hall at Christmas. So she continued eating her hay until a little boy came into the stable, crying.
"Where's mum?" He asked all the time and cried even more. Vixen, being worried as usual, unlocked the lock of her stall door and walked to the boy. Softly she blew some warm air threw her nostrils and touched the boy's cheek. He stopped crying and looked at the mare with big eyes. Vixen walked out of the barn, making sure the little boy was still behind her. She didn't mind him holding her tail. When they reached the riding hall Vixen prodded the boy and whinnied quietly. Then a young woman came into their direction, tears in her eyes, like the little boy had had before.
"Danny, there you are" She said and hugged her child. The woman stroked the mare's nose and said "Thank you" before she walked into the hall again.
When Vixen walked back to her stall again, some girls dressed as little angels came running towards the mare and took her with them. They were excited and all talked across each other. But as soon as Vixen saw the "sleigh" {a sleigh with wheels because of the lacking snow} , she knew why no girl came to ride her. The mare was really happy that she would pull "Santa's" sleigh. Surely it wasn't the real Santa Claus, but it was for the children. Vixen proudly pulled Santa to the riding hall. There the children's eyes got big when they heard the bells.
It was a wonderful evening and everyone was happy that day.
Maybe it wasn't only Vixen, but she'd done a lot to make that day perfect.

ρεяsσηαℓιтү- Vixen is always the most proud and confident. Though she is independent,
she mixes well with other horses. She usually runs around acting all crazy and making
the most of life, but when she feels down she takes it out on others and misbehaves.
That doesn't usually happen as she almost always behaves. She loves rides but can
sometimes get carried away and doesn't want to slow or stop, which is why its best not
to let beginners ride her. She has too much fun to be interested in stallions and wouldn't
have time for foals, but if she ever has any it might calm down this wild-hearted mare
and she might slow down a bit. Vixen is very brave, energetic, determined and caring.
All she needs to do is slow down a bit.

нιsтσяү- Vixen was born around Christmas on an old farm. Her owner was a old man with little money. He took
very good care of her and as Christmas neared the man became sick and unable to care for the little filly. On the
night before Christmas the man put a red ribbon around her neck and took her into the old town. They walked
around and peered in the windows of the old houses to they found one with a little girl inside. She looked to be
around seven or eight. "What did you ask for Christmas this year?" someone inside asked. "I asked Santa for a
horse!" The little girl replied. The man picked up the little filly and walked up the stairs. He tied her to the porch
and gave her a kiss on the forehead and said good-bye. He rang the door bell and started running back down the
road. The filly called to him but he didn't turn back. The door opened and a man stood and peered down at the filly.
"Molly, look!" He called and the little girl came running, "A Horse!" She yelled. The family didn't have enough room
for the horse in their yard, so she lives in a nearby barn and the girl goes to visit and ride her nearly everyday.
