I am so proud of how this girlie turned out! I genuinely thought that this was going to be a billion times worse than it is!!! ^^'
Anyway, she's the mare for the 14th December: A Black Manchado mare! The manchado colouration is extremely rare and she is very unlikely to pass it onto her offspring. I have selected the breed and height to make things easier, as it has only been recorded in certain breeds within Argentina.

Personality
Araceli is a very kind, but also shy mare. She rarely tries to search contact to other horses and is more of a loner. Sometimes you can watch her playing with the younger fillies, but when she spots someone looking at her she will trot away. It is unknown why she refuses contact to other horses, since she seems to be very social. Araceli is good on long distances and has great strength and stamina, typical qualities of a Criollo. As endurance horse she doesn't mind carrying a rider for hours and neither weight nor a difficult ground will bring her to her knees. She is really friendly towards children and good with women too, but she has kind of difficulties with men.
Story
A year before Dakota adopted Araceli:
Strong rain made it hard for the rider and her horse to get forward. The young woman embraced the neck of the mare to make it easier. Araceli couldn't see anything in the storm and the raindrops in her eyes hurt her. Still, the mare was able to keep her rider and herself on the course. A small white flag didn't came into the woman's sight before she stood right next to it.
"We have to go down there Celi", she whispered and pulled the reins to the right. The mare obeyed and stumbled down the hill. It was slippy and Araceli could hardly find any footing. When they almost reached the flat ground, the mare slipped and fell. Suddenly they rolled over and the mare fell down another hill that wasn't visible from the top.
For some seconds the Criollo was unable to move. Blood was dripping down her cheek and her left foreleg, where sharp stones had digged into the mare's skin. Pain shot through Araceli's body when she finally stood up. In the meanwhile the rain had almost stopped and only soft drizzle moistened the already wet coat. Since the Criollo couldn't find her rider, she kept on walking. It took hours before someone found the injured mare. One of the men harshly grabbed Araceli's reins and his gelding snapped at the mare. That man was Araceli's riders worst opponent. He pulled the mare behind and ignored that she was in pain.
Araceli managed to break free from the man and escaped through the woods.
The mare was found a week later in a small village, exhausted, but alive.
Her rider is being missed since their accident.

X.X Immy! I so wanted to resist your awesome advent adopts. I just can't resist this one. o.O
Breeding Ref. for Artists: Black Manchado. Homozygous for E/E. The manchado marking genetics are still a mystery, but it is not very likely that she'll pass these one at all, even when bred to a manchado stallion.[/center]
