What is a Kora?
A Kora is a large feline largely resembling a leopard or lion. All Koras have a fluffy dorsal mane, starting from the end of the tail and ending at the crown of the head, falling over the face. Their faces are broad, like a lion, but they have wider eyes adapted to seeing in the dark. Koras have large, tufted tails. We have yet to know what the purpose of such an ornamental tail would be. Koras have short, coarse fur, good for keeping out water and unfavorable temperatures. Much like their ancestors, the leopard, cheetah, and jaguar, all Koras have spots almost covering their bodies. Occasionally they may be more sparse, but they will always have them for the purpose of camouflage in their harsh wild habitat.

Though young, Rosetta has wisened beyond her years. She's seen poverty and abandonment, felt the betrayal of a friend and the loss of family. Though pretty, Rosetta won't really become beautiful until she's an older teenager and young adult. Until then, she remains cute and in the background.
As Rosetta ages, she matures into a beautiful Kora, one that many drool over. She, however, refuses to notice. She enjoys her time doing more intellectual things and expanding her knowledge, often spending time with humans in order to listen to them read to her and teach her how to do things like paint and make tools. Though her heart yearns for love, Rose can't bring herself to allow more hurt into her life.
When she was born, things seemed perfect for the young, small family. They lived in a caring home and had everything they needed. One day, mean men came by and kicked the humans out, calling for "repossession." At the time, Rose didn't know what that meant; all she knew was that now she and her family were out on the streets. Her mother and father tried to provide for her, but eventually were caught and taken to a shelter, where another family adopted them, but Rose was left alone on the streets.
She learned quickly how to survive, but the loss of her family consumed her, throwing her into depression. She made decisions she would normally not make, such as stealing, and became rather notorious around the city for her "malicious" behavior.
Rose soon found her way to the woods and escaped there, living there until she'd blossomed into a young adult. The natural life treated her well, and she soon stood proud where she once cowered in shame.
With her past planted firmly behind her, Rose began seeking out answers. She found her parents and reunited with them after not seeing them for nearly a year. The humans were happy to bring Rose in, and she now resides part time with her aging mother and father, the rest of the time spent out with her friends in the woods where her heart really belongs.
