Riuros is the Celtic name for Winter and literally means "cold time". He simply goes by "Ri" when he's around his mate. He was named "Riuros" as he was born in Ireland during a particularly bad snowstorm; it's rumored that he was actually born from the snow itself, though there is no proof of such a claim. Over time, though, Riuros has been known by many names. His favorite? Monoceros; the latin word for "Unicorn".ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ:

xxxxCalm and collected, Riuros is a perfect example of the mythological creature he so closely resembles. He walks and talks softly; nothing about Ri is harsh or bold. Even in the exceedingly rare instances that he gets angry or any sort of aggressive, he's extremely passive about it, and never resorts to violence. That proves to make him a great partner for Winter as the Elemental is known to be very harsh and aggressive, so naturally Riuros is able to mellow him out and bring the Deerssert back to a more manageable area of his temper.xxxxAlso like the mythological creature he's based off of, Riuros holds innocence and purity of heart in high regards. He prefers honesty above all else, though is willing to take whatever road will easily settle a troubled mind, something that he's perfected ever since falling in love with the lonely winter elemental. Riuros is soft-spoken, kind-hearted, gentle, and very loving, knowing exactly how to talk someone down from a brash decision or action without making their situation worse. He's most often agreeable to many situations and decisions, though if it's something he is unhappy with, uncomfortable with, or strictly against, he is more than capable of protesting and speaking his opinion, though he does so calmly and without unneeded force.xxxxAround Winter, though, Riuros is a bit different. He's extremely attentive, quite literally at the elemental's "beck and call", so to speak, and sometimes acts a bit fawn-like in his actions and conversations with Winter. He loves to make the elemental smile and laugh, the action being Riuros' only goal in life. On his downside, though, Riuros often trusts people too easily, and when his heart gets broken, he seems to forget. He's never carried a grudge, and though he can stay mad for a day or two, he always gives the person a new chance. He doesn't believe in worldly possessions, and is more of the "Zen" type of Deerssert. He can also be a bit close-minded, from being a creature of habit.ᴛɪᴍᴇ ʀᴇǫᴜɪʀᴇᴍᴇɴᴛs:
xxxxRiuros has a certain... fondness for antique items. Though he doesn't believe owning material things should be considered important, it doesn't mean he doesn't have a few. One such thing is his antique silver pocket watch, which he had found years ago rotting away in the mud. A friend in a nearby village managed to clean it and repair it, returning the beautiful time piece to its former glory. Now he carries around the clock for ease of access to the time. Of course, he could always use the sun, but an actual watch was much more accurate. Being a guardian of the forest, he has daily duties that need to be attended to. The clock helps him manage his time and ensures that he's finished before 1:30 in the afternoon, which will be mentioned next.ᴀ sᴘᴇᴄɪᴀʟ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ:
xxxx1:30 p.m. on a bright, yet cold winter day was the time he first met Winter, the elemental trudging through the snow drifts with a downcast gaze and pained expression. He had bruises from bumping into the trees, and looked increasingly miserable with each step. Since that first day he stopped and took a moment to help Winter, they began meeting every week, then every few days, until finally it was every day. Riuros began slowly breaking through Winter's harsh and mean exterior to find the real source of his anger: fear. And, piece by piece, Riuros began to calm that fear. But it was a surprise to both of them when just a simple good deed sprouted into romance, and the undeniable fact that they were too bonded now to ever be separated again.
