Ja, primitive markings are what we see on duns and the like.
Here's the deal. there aren't pure paint arabians. they're called DILUTE arabians. (this is the same as when you get palomino arabians.) Some people will call them "Pure Dilute Arabians" but in reality, they've had some other horse bred in, they just add a bunch of arabian after they introduce the color/paint markings.
So in likelihood, he's not a pure ORIGINAL Arabian, he's a pure DILUTE Arabian. Hope that clears up the issue. :3 Pure Arabians can be black, bay, chestnut, gray, and black/chestnut/bay roan in some cases. Sabino is the only form of paint that pure arabians can have. (this doesn't make him NOT an arabian, it just makes him a dilute arabian.)
Sorry, I'm a color/breed nut. XD I'm full of random information. XD Yet I can't remember when King David ruled for exams.
Also, we can only create a custom for ourselves on occasion- very rarely. I've only made one so. :3 He's handsome!
