Dream Catcher Wolves, more commonly nicknamed DCWs, are a new breed of canine only recently discovered. They are about the size of a normal domestic canine with the build of a wolf. They have a 'fringe' of hair on their foreheads and a tail made of cloud, so it seems. They are nicknamed the guardians of sweet dreams, for they purify nightmares and turn them into good dreams. It is unknown exactly how they do this. It is suspected that has something to do with the cloud that they have as a tail. However, a DCW will never tell you how it does it. Each one is given a feather of some sort which they hang around their neck upon ridding someone of a nightmare for the first time. It is their most treasured item, and nothing will separate a DCW from its feather. The time of when the feather was given varies, but is generally when they age to an 'adult'. Children however, are seen sometimes with feathers. The feather was rumoured to have been enchanted, meaning the DCW has immortality but it also aids in purifying the nightmares and turning them into good dreams.
Dream Catcher wolves are rarely seen to eat. When they do, however, it is generally fruits and berries with some small rodents. It is said that most dreams can sustain them for a short period of time, but when they have not purified any dreams, they have to eat as most animals do.
WIP custom for my real life friend. Soon to be completed if I can figure out a design <3
