Name of EnerroX: DC- (Dee See Negative), but you can call him DC.
History: DC- or DCeN stands for Direct Current Electrode Negative. It's a welding term. With DCEN, the electrode is the negative pole and the metal workpiece is the positive. Electrons always flow from the negative to the positive, right? Well, DCEN is the most efficient way to heat metal; if your electrode is receiving electrons from the metal, then it ain't gonna heat the metal very quickly, is it? So the electrode pours heat right into the metal, making it melt faster. That's how DC got his name; the welders at the factory/warehouse he hangs out by saw him eating their leftover metal junk, and it was not unlike watching the arc devour metal. Anyway, he hangs out by the factory because of all the bits and pieces of metal wire to chew on. You should know that no matter how neat and tidy the boss wants a weld shop to be, it will ALWAYS have a huge mess of random bits and pieces of metal and wire just strewn about the place. Always. Every type of welding has some sort of cast off, especially MIG. Most often it comes in the form of short bits of filler rod, which is metal wire. All that wire just lying around and even outside the shop immediately drew DC in. No one cares if their cast off bits of filler and whatnot disappear, which means an absolute smorgasbord for DC.
Personality: DC is pretty laid back. He doesn't much care what goes on, so long as he gets his fill of wire and can stash himself in a dark corner to sleep. He's sort of half-feral, and as such will not allow anyone to touch him or get too close. The guys in the shop are used to his aloofness, though, so they're fine just joking around with him verbally. He takes it in stride; what does he care what the weird hoomuns do? He absolutely hates the supervisor, though, which may indicate that he has a dislike for authority? We're not really sure... And he's somewhat protective of whatever he deems his meal, which is understandable, given his rather underfed visage. The guys like to toss him longer pieces of filler rod and watch him snap it up like spaghetti, which might have been embarrassing for DC if he could have brought himself to care about that sort of thing. He also seems to have taken a liking to slag, which is bits of impurities in the metal that get stuck to the outside of the weld or even fly off it entirely. Slag tastes somewhat tangy, in an oily, metallic kind of way, so it's basically a dessert to him. Slag is very small, however, so he must lick it off the metal or workbench in order to enjoy it. He rather loathes having to step foot inside the factory to do so, but dessert is dessert and he thinks dessert is amazing. *shrug* :\
In the picture, the welder appears to be doing stick welding, which produces a large arc and a big gas cloud. It also makes a lot of sparks, which you can see flying everywhere. Each spark is a tiny ball of metal, an impurity thrown out of the weld by the shielding gas that the flux-covered electrode produces. So, basically, those sparks mean one thing to DC: dessert.
