➣ my name is kalista, but here on CS
i go by tyler > you, but you can call
me tyler.

➣ i will name her nevaeh. heaven spelled
backwards. her design is a little piece of
heaven too, i couldn't stop staring at her
for awhile.

➣ female. her dark, defined mature spots could
only mean her boasting self declaratory, most likely
female.

➣ one day, nevaeh was walking home from
her usual hunting place.
the earth had fallen to night, dark and cold and
wandering. she gracefully moved her head around,
taking in the scene, always the cautious dog.
suddenly, picked up by sensitive ears, she heard
a distress in the dark distance. wondering if she
could fit in another kill for the night, she quietly
ran to the spot, soft toe pads muffling her noise.
squinting, she made out a shape, later detected by
smell to be a rodent. it was stuck in some sort
of nest, or bundle of twigs. it was violently squeaking,
making all sorts of commotion to it's fate. sensing
weakness, nevaeh squatted closer to it.
a baby, it appeared to be. no more than a few
months old.
well, nevaeh thought to herself,
might as well let
it die naturally.deep down, she knew she just couldn't bring herself to
destroy such a new creature. leaving it there, she told
herself she already did it a kindness, so it would need no
more mercy. she already gave it that. she continued
home, turning from her guilty thoughts. halfway home.
less than a mile from home. a few seconds from home.
but the guilt consumed her. in her head a little thought said
to her,
why must we preserve it more kindness?
why must you not complete the deed?
everything deserves more than just enough.winning over, nevaeh raced back to the thicket.
feeling softly in the dark, caring not to squish it,
she found the rodent's tail and swung it out, butt
first. squeaking in first terror, then relief, the rodent
graciously thanked nevaeh, the kind stranger to him.
and in that moment...nevaeh relized. she needed no reward,
despite their offer. she need not to hold back on any kindness,
there would be no limit. because making others happy would
be the best thanks, and the best relief. so, after a warm conversation, she
shook paws with the revealed mouse, and padded home - feeling
bigger and better than ever.
now, with intense curiousity, i release
this form into the sky, sending it ablaze
hoping to fall down to me with nevaeh.
