Simas are small wolf/cat creatures. The largest they can get is the size of a house cat, which is why some are mostly domestic. They are very friendly creatures, and extremely social, living in a pack of ten or more. Simas live mostly in the tropical regions of the world, making their homes in bushes and some have even been found in trees. They are omnivores, meaning they can eat just about anything. A Sima finds a mate and challenges others for dominancy by using their tails and claws, and sometimes horns. They don't mate for life, so they can mate with different Simas, though they can mate only once every two weeks in our time. Their tails have guards on the sides of the crystal within it like a sword almost. The jewels on their tails are always the same color as their eyes. They glow at night, though the glow isn't visible in the day, most the time anyway. All Simas are also covered in thick, fluffy fur that's soft to the touch.

A Sima can have two types of horns; stubby or long. It is not common for you to find them with horns, but its not completely uncommon to.

This Sima is particularly special: he/she is blind! To get him/her, just give him/her an interesting name. Any extras are always welcome!

"It was about two in the morning. I just couldnt sleep. Dont really know why buy everytime I REALLY tried, my eyes would just stay open like tooth picks were keeping them there! That wasn't as weird though. I get up at odd times every other day. I was watching, oh, no wait, I was listening to TV when a whole bunch of commercials came on about 2 AM! But, it was two PM. All I could think about for the rest of the day was, It's two A.M and it's my time to shine..."

This was based off of a writing assignment that I had to do but never got to. Came out pretty good if I do say so myself!

Zeme being blind isn't a problem it actually helps him to listen better,
think things through, and overall be a better companion.

Story:
Zem was bored, alone, and a little bit hungry. He hopped down from the tree he had been sitting in and went to go sniffing for a snack when someone tripped over him. It smelled very odd like dog and and.... a human!! Zem ran and ran and ran and didn't stop until he could no longer run. He realized he didn't know where he was, he was a bit cold despite all of his fur and he could smell the rain coming. Looked like it would be a long walk home, he had to track himself and he better do it quick before the sent washes away and he won't ever find his way home and he would have to learn a new territory by sniffing and bumping into things. It was at times like these when he wished he weren't blind. Zem stared back tracking as a slight drizzle started to fall. he then started to jog with it until he could run with it again and finally found his way home but..

The humans scent was everywhere! Why had It been going through his home?! Those pesky parasites. Well at least Zem could get out of the rain now. It had been raining all night long and had made it harder for him to get back home and had certainly cost him time because the rain would lead him off the trail and then it would take him more time to find it again. Zem shook his coat and nuzzled into a dry nook in the tree. He felt that the human's scent was comforting as he fell asleep.

When Zem woke up it was late afternoon and he was starving. Zem jumped from the tree and streached out, his muscles sore. He headed toward his favorite grub spot. The mulberry bush, and he was deep in the mulberries when he smelled the human coming. He, to his own surprise, didn't run he just lounged in the low sun as he heard the humans footsteps approach he moved his ears to see if he could figure what direction It was coming from. It was coming from the west. and he could feel its eyes on him and the shadow of the human covering the sun on his back. "Hello." said the human apparently female. Zem gave a sort of grunt in response. And the human girl stared to touch Zem first just petting him on the head and as he got used to that she worked her way to right behind his ear and started scratching and just went totally wild he relaxed completely and even licked the girls hand. She didn't seem to mind his vines or even the fact that he was shedding all over her. When she was done it was getting pretty dark, the sun setting, and it was time for Zem to head back to his home and up his tree, things hunt at night especially things bigger than Zem. And apparently The human girl needed to get home as well. "I have to go home now," said the human "But you could come with me if you want?" the girl said, hope in her voice but Zem wasn't ready to leave his home of the trees and vines so Zem shook his head no "How about I come see you when I can, we could be pals." she said this time she was a bit sad sounding but understanding as well "My name is Amelia by the way." she said and as if she had known she said "I will call you Zeme but just Zem for short." Since then Amelia and Zem have seen each other for countless hours every single day and have never had a dull moment.

Sima name: Rathnait (Irish meaning "little graceful one")

gender: Female

Extras: Born the smallest cub in her pack (and blind), Rathnait enjoyed just talking and learning with the elders. They taught her to use her hearing to see, just like the bats she heard fluttering in the night. The elders took her out in to the forest daily so she could get used to running and moving with the things around her. She learned to feel the vibrations of life in her paws, to hear the sounds in her ears, and to use both those things to "see" her surroundings. Eventually that little cub grew into a graceful, beautiful (if a little on the smallish side) sima. She has become a teacher for the younger cubs, to show them about life. She is a guide to other sima through the deepest parts of the jungle, and no one knows the stories of the passed-on elders like she does. A teacher, a guide, and a storyteller, she is all and yet she is but one. Rathnait, the "little graceful one".

Sima name: Verititas, latin for truth. The Lady Justice used as a symbol for the judicial system is also blind, but it helps her discern truth from lies and deceptions. She uses the blindfold to guide her, and so her lack of sight isn't a disability, but a strength.

Extras: I see this Sima as being very quiet and thoughtful, but teeming with things he wants to say. Being blind has made him a better listener- he's attentive to everything he hears, and he's very deeply connected with nature, where he finds comfort whenever he feels out of place. He used to be self conscious about his disability until he realized that he'd never be able to judge based on appearances alone, and so he sees the true heart of all things. Sorry if that's gushy haha
