Modern Era is generally a quiet, serious type of girl. She'd prefer not to argue with others, nor speak out or interfere in other conversations. Era, as I call her, prefers to stay at the back of the herd, watching over all of the WTEs, not just the little ones. She is protective, but in her quiet manner. Era believes that most males are obnoxious, arrogant, and looks down on them, but I think that might change when I start to roleplay with her. Era is kind, but won't go out of her way to help others, she'll just stay in the background, waiting for the right moment to help. She is determined, as well as brave. Say, a foal is surrounded by fire. Modern Era would care not for the flames, the searing heat, and the choking smoke. She will simply run through, and make sure the foal is out of the way of the tearing flames.



Three River's Equines or Adopt a Horse?







Why Modern Era is named Modern Era: Well, her stripes reminded me of the style and word, modern. Modern colors these days are blacks, whites, and grey, and the modern era is based upon shapes, bold lines, circular spheres, and stripes. So, when I first saw the gorgeous WTE, she reminded me of the word 'Modern.' And while I stared in wonder at her, I noticed her bright, purple and blue eyes. And I thought about the past, the past filled with swirls of pastel colors, no skin shone, long pants, peaceful pinks and yellows, and it clicked. Her eyes are the window to the past, the past of all the history in the world. I can't stop looking at her, she... I've made a connection with her, with the past.

Poem:
I stare in the puddle
I stare back.
I look like the people who
Tear down the Jungle.
Dressed in Black,
Stripes lining my fur.

Many Whip Tails
Say my eyes are beautiful.
They say that I could hypnotize
Anyone with a blink of an eye.
But my eyes look
So simple compared
To the other's coats.

The Elders say
That the eyes
Are the windows to the soul.
Perhaps though,
My eyes are the window
To the Past.

Mariangela - the contracted form of Maria Angela, which means rebel angel in Spanish. She'll sometimes respond to Maria, but is more likely to listen to another if they call her by her full name or Angela; only foals can call her Mary, Marie or Angie.

Mariangela is most definitely a mare.

She is not the tallest in the herd, but she isn't tiny either standing at fifteen hands high.

WTE personality

Mariangela is a fiery little thing. While she does like being a part of a herd, she isn't one for blindly following others. She is hard-headed and strong-willed, and she isn't afraid in the slightest to vocalize her opinion on a matter. Some think her to be rude or disrespectful, but this isn't the case - she's merely opinionated and has a hard time not expressing it. Many an equine have been turned away from her because of this view, though, and so she is often lonely even when amidst her herdmates. This mare also is keen to prove her strength and worth to the herd by defending them against dangers - namely predators, but also watching over the sleeping foals, scouting for dangers in the terrain, etc. Mariangela, while still full of energy and spunk in her youth, also yearns to find a stallion who would court her and stay with her - making her a hopeless romantic in her eyes, figuring she'll never find such a male.
