BHS: Grå Norwegian Fjord Stallion

Postby Merlin's Heir » Sun Apr 07, 2013 6:55 pm

Mwahahahahahahahahaha! Yes, a Norwegian Fjord! Complete with the traditional mane. After I made The Black, I thought, "What other breed could I do with line edits?" A Friesian had recently been done, so that was a no. Then - lightbulb! Norwegian Fjord!

Gender:
Stallion
Age:

Breed:
Norwegian Fjord
Height:
14.1hh
Color:
Grå
Personality:
Knut is a proud stallion who usually comes across as being a bit arrogant, however as soon as he steps away from the competitive atmosphere of the show ring his sweet temperament becomes apparent. But like most stallions he can get a bit full of himself from time to time, particularly around mares or when trying to deter other stallions. In some respect he is also a bit of a flirt meaning he's very bold and a little headstrong, obstinate even. Other than that he doesn't have a mean bone in his body.
As mentioned previously, Knut is a proud showy stallion who is remarkably peppy and enthusiastic when participating. He enjoys attention and strives to constantly be in the limelight, and if he messes up on something he seems to dwell on it for quite some time to the point where he might actually start to sulk for a little while until he realises that he's being unreasonable. Then he'll act as if nothing's happened. On the other hand, if he's successful or done well then he won't hesitate to boast with excitement - not nastily though it sometimes seems like it. He admits that he is also a bit of a sore loser but to him it's also all in good fun.

When not around other horses or when he's not competing Knut is usually a polite and respectful horse, both under saddle and in the stable. He's a quick learner with plenty of experience in competing - something he's proud of. But he's not as young as he once was and with many younger horses and ponies leaning in he's slowly coming to accept that his time as a competitive athlete may soon be over. It saddens him to think that way but he's pleased with his work so far and so is eager to just be a horse of leisure and fun.

History:
Knut was born at a professional Fjord Stud farm in North-West Norway. He, along with a few other foals, were bred with the intended use to be used for showing and competition purposes all over the country. He was kept at the farm for the first six years of his life with the later intended use of being kept as breeding stock. For those first few years Knut was broken in, shown in-hand and competed regularly during the summer until he was later sold on in favour of a new stallion.
From there he was transferred to a new owner who lived outside of the country, however he couldn't comfortably remain at any stable for any length of time because of his temperament and status as a stallion. So for the next four years he found himself being bought and sold numerous times to different owners who found they couldn't quite cope.
Around the time of his eleventh birthday Knut found himself at a brand new farm. He had high hopes for to stay with this new owner - this time he was determined to behave to the best of his ability to avoid another mishap of sorts. But this farm had specialist trainers and competitors, and, much to Knut's delight he was finally allowed to settle and live out the next couple years in one place.
