Character Information: His name is Chess. Chess is a very quiet, not too social kind of guy. However, he's incredibly smart and wise as well. He knows what happens within the world and he knows how to best explain it. This makes him invaluable. Chess has a soft spot for children, and when one is in trouble, he will generally appear like a ghost and aid the young'lin. Generally most believe him to be the 'hermit' of the city. What's widely known is that Chess is a type of mercenary, selling out his services for money and one other thing. Information. What's not known about Chess is that, within his small house, there is an underground cavern where he's created the largest libraries known to Kartheans. Within this library, Chess secludes himself to reading and repairing books. It's his only explanation for being so wise and intelligent. Chess is around 35 years, having been bonded at one point in his life, only to have his bonding partner vanish upon turning 20. Chess grew furious, becoming almost like a madman as he searched the country for his partner. When he finally found something, it was the small necklace that he had worn around his neck, the swirling black fire opal stained lightly with his partner's blood. Distraught, Chess returned to his home and he began to train. Occasionally some wondered if Chess had a mentor, but none were ever seen going into or out of his house. That was because within his labyrinth of books are tunnels. Secret tunnels that lead everywhere and nowhere. One such tunnel leads to the castle. It is with this tunnel that Chess goes when he is asked to advice the queen on a certain matter. This is all done secretly of course.
