A Jewel Mane Dragon is a large creature with jewls on their foreheads and tails.They eat mostly small mamals such as birds, squirels, and rabbits. The fur on their back, hind, and front legs feel like the softest of silk and is pretty short. The fur around their neck (Also know as their mane) and tail is very soft, fluffy, and long. Jewel mane Dragons mostly keep to themselves but when they find someone they like the grow very attached, loyal, and talkative. They're all slightly bigger than a mustang but some grow to be as large as a elephant. All Jewel Mane Dragons have jewels at the end of their tail and on their forehead, there's really no exception to that rule. The jewel on their tail is used as a weapon in combat and hunting, while the jewel on their forehead is used during mating season to atract females.[/size]

Name:
For this lovely JMD, I decided to name him Taelg
(Tay-leg) Or, Tae (Tay), for short. Taelg is Olde
English for a certain kind of dye they would use.
I decided to name this guy Tae mostly because I
love the name Tae and also because I thought that
the word for 'dye' would fit this otherwise colorless
JMD. Alsowith this a personality came up and so there
you have it, the history of Tae's name.

Tae is really actually quite calm. He is hard to
scare and even harder to make angry. He's the
kind of person that no matter what you tell him,
he'll still be there for you, even if it be really
gross.
I like solving problems!
He loves looking up at the stars on a moony
night. Yes, Tae is an astronomer. His Christ-
mas list every year always has the exact same
thing: his very own 'real' telescope.
Have you seen the Harvest Moon? So bright...
Another strange and suprising trait: Tae loves
to embroider. He is very skilled at doing any
thing with cloth, even if it isn't embriodery,
like usingdye. That's what he was named after,
after all.

Tae is also quite easygoing. He always goes
with the flow. he always makes sure though
that by thetime he does something to try and
stop something it's not too late. He's always on
time.
It's okay, I don't mind.
If you're a girl, expect to be swooning in about
three seconds after seeing Tae. He like to have
that effect on girls, but never lies or uses them
at all. He's still looking for a soul mate c:

And, suprisingly, being sneaky a trait of Tae's.
If he can't be a embroiderer or an astronomer
when he grows up, then he'd become a spy,
sneaking around and fooling everybody.

Once upon a time...
The billboard flshed out in big, neon letters 'Come one, come all!" I smiled and walked in, slowly getting accustomed to the darkness that always came with a movie. My pupils dialtyed and I slowly followed the rest of the crowd, looking for a seat that wasn't too dirty. I found one and settled in. I've always loved going to the movies! This time I was especially excited to go, mostly because it was something new, something I didn't know about. It was a documentary about the night sky and especially Polaris, a bright star.
The soft, velvet chairs were really comfortabe and I'd always has the good fortune to not have to sit next to someone who smells or it overly large. Oncethe thought came unit my mind, I glanced over my side to see who was next to me. The seat was empty. Perfect! Now I could have a whole two seats to myself. I put my bag full of books on the seat next to me, wishing that Cashmere could have come. Cashmere is a Jewel Maned Dragon that came to live with me a while back. Since then I've seen some JMDs in town, but none that really caught my eye.
I am jerked back to the present as the lights dim even more and the documentary starts playing. "Polaris," it starts in a deep man's voice, "Is the star you might know as the North Star. It is the same star that brought the Three Wise men to Jesus after he was born." the movie continues, telling how sailors used Polaris to find their way, but when I hear the word Christmas a thrill runs through me.
Finally! There's only a few days left until Christmas, and I'm possibly the most excited person in the world. Cashmere and I have decorated the house to the max, with snowflakes hanging from the walls and finished with a giant bluejay with a Santa hat on in our front yard. It does look pretty, I must admit, but since out house was almost impossible to get to, nobody had ever seen it except for me and Cashmere. Which might have been why I wanted another JMD to come live with us. I wanted someone new to come and be awed by our decorating, someone who both me and Cashy would love to be with. Alas, there had only been a few JMDs that had stopped by our small town.
A voice whispering 'Sorry!' pulls me back to reality. I turn to see a large JMD making his way to the seat next to me. For a moment, I am awed. Then I remember my manners and pull my stuff out of the way bye gives me a grateful smile and sits down, instantly mesmerized by the screen.
Looking at him more closely I see things I didn't before. He is three different shades of grey with some white sprinkled in, and his eyes along with his jewels give off a yellow glow. He notices me staring and tries to talk quietly.
"I'm really sorry, my jewels always glow like this. It's why I stay out of movies." A quiet little laugh escapes his mouth, but in three seconds his face is turned back to the screen. I feel his pain, and am also curious. "That's perfectly all right," I begin. "Everyone is different." I pause for a moment and then ask, "Do you like looking at the stars?" Apparently it was the right question to ask and he responds with vigor. "Oh, I love the stars! I'm going to be an astronomer, once I finish learning all I can."
We are quiet for a while, and eventually the movie closes; telling us about how the moon rotated around Earth. On impulse, when the lights come back on, I ask, "Would you like to join me and Cashmere for tea? And I don't believe I caught your name." He looks confused for a few second, and then he seems to register what I asked and responds. "I'm Taelg, but just call me Tae. And who's Cashmere?" I smile and say, "Cashmere is the nerdiest JMD you'll ever meet. He lives with me at home." Tae smiled at my comment about Cashy being the nerdiest. "Where do you live?"
Shyly I explain to him where we live: on the other side of townin the middle of the forest on Chestnut Avenue. I tell him that you can't miss it because of the giant bluejay in front. For a second he looks startled, and then recognition kicks in. "You live at the star house!" Tae then proceed to tell me about how he drives by my house everyday, because he's only been here for a few days and is living at an apartment, and doesn't want to barge in. He tells me how from our roof you have a perfect view of the big and little dipper on a clear night. I am astounded. Who knew that this was above us?
"Wait a second," A thought comes to me. "You said you lived in an apartment?" Tae nods. "Yes. I hate it. Everything leaks and I swear there's a bat colony living inside my walls." I smile just like him, a carefree, easygoing grin. "Would you like to live with us?"
It sounds silly for a moment, me asking him if he wants to stay with me when we've only just met, but I feel a connection to him just like I did to Cashmere. Apparently he feels the snake because he returns the grin and his eyes and jewels light up. "That would be lovely!"
He goes to pick up his bags and I buy a few groceries, and then we both walk home to an enthusiastic welcome from Cashmere. And deep in my heart, I know I've done the right thing.
