Kiamara #57 - WINNER

Postby palmsprout » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:57 pm

    What is a Kiamara?
A Kiamara is a canine-like creature, but they have long, rather soft fur, and an almost dragon-like tail. They are born with no horns, but a few who grow to have longer horns are born with tiny stubs on their heads. Kiamara can be extremely shy, and females can often be a bit grumpy. Don't worry– once you win their hearts, they will never stop loving you. Male Kiamara can be very quiet, but they love attention. Of course females do too, but the males thrive off of your love. They love to be praised.

Little deer inspired Kiamara. She's quite pretty, eh? She has a little obsession with string and beads. ^^

    Congratulations Chlo!

Story about how she collected all of her string:
It was a crisp Fall morning, dry leaves crunched under Noelle's paws as she frolicked through the forest. None of the other Kiamaras were awake yet, Noelle's mother didn't like the idea of her exploring too far away, so Noelle had to wake up extra early if she wanted to do anything.
"Ouch!" She exclaimed, she stepped on a pricker, and it got stuck in her paw pad. It wasn't too deep, so she just pulled it out with ease, and continued to run deeper into the forest. She loved the feel of the wind brushing through her hair, and the scent fresh Autumn air.
Moments passed, and eventually she smelled something unfamiliar. She slowed, and peered through the trees. She saw an old den. She hadn't seen a den like this before, or atleast, she thought it was a den. It had for transparent squares in the front, but they were kinda broken and dusty, and small cobwebs were visible from the inside. In the middle of the den, there was a rectangular opening. Carefully, Noelle walked inside. It was defiantly abandoned, only faint, old scents could be smelled of any life living in there.
Noelle snooped around, looking for something cool to keep. She saw a desk, and sparkly orange and grey beads caught her eye. She immediately bounded over to the desk to examine these beads. She tried to scoop them up and take them, but they were attached to string. At first, she didn't like the string. She tried to remove the string from the beads, but in the process, she got three beads wrapped around her right ankle. This gave her an idea. She wrapped the last two beads around the end of her tail, next to her feather.
This was not enough. Noelle wanted more, but there was no more beads. Only a few more pieces of string. They were still pretty, and she put some on her horns, her back left ankle, and her neck.
Now she pranced out of the old den, feeling fully accessorized.

Story about how she collected all of her string:
Well, this young female had a obsession with string since she was small. She had this obsession for a few days before her parents started to notice. So her parents started up a little 'course' for her. She would have to complete the course in a certain amount of time, and if she did, she would get some string as her reward. Soon, after a year or so, this young female had gathered enough string to wrap around her neck. As she kept growing, her parents began to give her less and less string until they gave her none. She got angry at her parents, as they promised to get her strong, and since they didn't, she turned and ran away from them. She ran for days and night, wanting more strong, and after a few days she knew it was wrong to run away, so she tried to get back. But she was lost, forever in the woods. She kept searching and searching, but after a few months she knew that she would never get back. Even if she did, she was sure her parents wouldn't accept her.

    Name:
    Festivity {Her real name}

Story about how she collected all of her string:

    It was there.
Festivity, or often insisting Fest, had went ahead and wandered farther then she had been permitted. Now, finding this.
"What a dump." She huffed simply, shoving a silver can across. This was new for her, as the forest had been her home for months now. Festivity walked slowly and warily, careful to not make a sound. The brown-furred kiamara fell, slipping on something.
"Oof!" Festivity groaned, laying on the floor for a few more seconds before standing up. She turned around slowly, inspecting what had caused her fall. Flicking her tail, the kiamara rolled her eyes.
    That stupid can.
However, it claimed something new. String.
Festivity glanced at the can, before pawing the can away and acquiring the black string. Somehow, this simple little thing interested her too much. This dump, this waste, gave her something to come back to. Festivity took the string by her mouth, and padded away to her home. She'd come back later.
    Probably.

    ~

With a new day just calling her, the brown-eyed kiamara stretched and scanned her home for the string. There it was. Safely tucked between some flowers and leaves. Good.
Festivity jogged toward the same pathway, farther to where she wasn't allowed. A chill went up her spine, hearing something.
"Help!" It had called, pleading for anyone. For Festivity, fortunately, it came from the dump. She quickened her jog, and stopped to see a bright green stand out from the pale and lifeless garbage.
"Hey, hey, kiamara, can you lend a paw to a gecko?" it seemed to say. What made her take a second glance was what the gecko's problem was; black string. He was tangled in a bunch of black string.
"Sure. Can I have the string when I'm done?" Festivity replied, taking one row of the string and picking him up.
"I don't care, just get me out of it!"
With some adjustments and lots of patience, the deer-themed kiamara was able to have the gecko run freely once more. He climbed up her back to her horns, and wrapped his tail around the top.
"Thanks! Mind if I catch a ride?" He said quickly, hanging from Festivity's horn and looking her in the eye. His expression seemed curious and delighted.
"Yeah. I'm just going to spend a few more minutes here. I'm Fest, by the way."
    "Dez, nice to meet you."
Festivity grinned, and continued her plan for today. The string was being monitored by Dez, him tying it to her horns while she didn't notice. Pawing the ground, nothing had seem to catch the kiamara's eye. Dez had pointed out a few things here and there, but nothing worthy. Disappointed by evening, Festivity had jogged back home with a new friend.

    ~

"Come on now, your taking too much time!"
"Just a few more touches, stop moving your tail!"
Dez clinged to her tail like his last chance for life, tying the black string. He had scurried off in the night and somehow, found a 'orange bird' and convinced him for a orange feather. It was nice to know Dez was a bad liar. Festivity swung her tail, hearing something clink together. Dez had been thrown in the air, but landed safely on her horns.
"What do you think? I found those gems in your home!" Dez said proudly, and the brown-eyed kiamara grinned.
"Yeah, it's nice. Thanks for tying that to my tail and the leftover string on my horns." replied Fest, admiring the gems on her tail. The sun had risen up, and it was slightly windy, but it was quite warm. Festivity and Dez headed out toward the dump, the place the now called a second home. However, Festivity was quickly stopped by one of pack members.
"Festivity! We haven't seen you for 2 days. Where are you going?" By instinct, the gecko hid behind Fest's ears.
"I've been busy. Something that you don't need to put a paw in." the brown-pelt kiamara muttered, pushing pass the other kiamara. The pack member could easily take down Festivity, but decided against it. Luckily for Festitivity, the other kiamara reluctantly ignored Festivity and left.

    ~

    "Have you seen anything yet?"
    "Just destroyed things. You, Fest?"
"Colored string." Passing the colored string, Festivity decided to ignore it, and favored more the black. Dez was scurrying about, looking for anything usable.
"I hate how there's so much litter. It might affect the forest." Dez said while moving to anther pile. His tail was littered by papers and dirt. Festivity nodded, padding across to another pile. Black string was collected from a soda can. Dez tugged her paw, and she lowered her tail for him to climb up. Showing her the whole amount of black string, she was fascinated.
"Look out-Oof!" They both crash-landed in a mucky substance, the black string tangled on Festivity's neck, but it didn't choke her. It was like a necklace.
"Hey, that looks good." Dez told her, climbing back up on Fest. The kiamara looked down, and nodded absently. It did look good.

    ~

Finding more string and gems, they finished up tying it upon Festivity. Since then, the gecko stuck around the kiamara, and the kiamara grew a obsession with string. She never knew where the feathers came from or where Dez got the gems, but it didn't matter. These accessories were found by them together. And they would continue exploring together.

From then on, a friendship blossomed.

    Perfect night, huh? x
