Ren had reached the age where he was pushed out of his herd and forced into a solitary search for his own herd. From his earliest days on he was always one of the most envied stallions for his looks. This had inflated his ego but had suppressed his ability to find a real friend making him cold and awkward. One day happened upon a lush green valley nestled in the mountains with wispy grass blowing everywhere. He spotted two mares, one almost solid white and one chocolate colored with splashes of white and probably the most gorgeous green eyes he'd ever seen. He thought maybe this could be a start for him so he pranced up to the green eyed girl. She look at him questioningly and he got the distinct feeling that he perhaps had mud on his face. All of the sudden, Cricket, who had never seen a male equid, burst out laughing. Confused he demanded to know what was so funny. She replied that it was hilarious that he had almost as much hair on his chest as in his mane. He was quite shocked and a little embarrassed and did all he could think of and tugged on her ear. This didn't affect her at all because she was still thoroughly amused but overall very friendly. His heart softened a little in that moment and he knew he had found his first true friend.

I seriously can't express how much I adore this stallion, I had to explain the picture because I didn't want any of my inspiration to be lost. c':
