Username: puddssoul
Name: Lucinda Rose (Lucy or Luce for short)
Gender: FEMALE
Age: Young Adult
Personality:Luce is out-going, an extremely social butterfly, and she loves to be around other JMDs. She's a bit of a trickster, and enjoys pulling pranks once in a while, although she tries not to hurt anyone with them. Her best skill is probably her intelligence, which helps her to use her jewel power only for good -- although doing otherwise is definately tempting sometimes! She's the sort of girl you'd probably expecct to read a lot if she wasn't such a busy bee, always buzzing around and helping others out. She hopes to have a lot of friends who are as active and just a little bit crazy like she is! Her only fear is... the dark. It freaks her out, and she rarely leaves her home at night. If anyone asks, she tells them that it's not the dark she's afraid of, but what could be hiding in it. Her favorite thing to do when her friends aren't around is write poetry, using her friends as her muse. She often reads it to them when they return. She's not half bad at it, either.
Story:Luce rolled her eyes and groaned, the quill her owner had special-ordered for her clutched carefully in her paw. "What in the world rhymes with orange?!" She screeched unhappily to the rafters, sighing softly, "Sometimes I think I'm crazy, trying to use my power with words... it's hard to make someone look beautiful when there's no pictures!" She scribbled out a line she had been writing quite furiously, then took a moment to compose herself and dipped the quill back into her little pot of pretty black ink before scrawling something down again. "'The sun cannot hope to compare itself to her shade of orange', 'she shines like the bronze of a freshly polished doorhinge'... ugh! Doorhinge?! What was I thinking?!" She tore the paper to shreds, tossing them into the convienently placed trash can at her side.
"Okay, maybe I'll try someone else." She finally decided, conjuring up the image of one of her other friends into her mind, just behind her eyes. "'His black makes the midnight jealous of how powerful he seems', 'He prowls through the night steadily leading his team', 'The moon stares down and wishes he would say hello', 'The stars all shiver in their twinkling when they hear him bellow'." A little smile appeared on her face. "Much better!"
"I'm on a roll today!" She giggled, writing down a few more lines and nodding happily as she read them aloud to herself, then quickly grabbed another fresh white page so she could continue. Outside her window, the world was sunny and bright, the perfect day for playing outside: but all of her friends were busy, so instead she wrote her poetry for them so they'd have a nice surprise when they returned from whatever they were doing. She didn't really keep track, she only knew they couldn't be with her at the moment. Her eyes twinkled and she hummed a little tune as her words filled the page.
"'Singing like a lark perched upon a willow's branch so small', 'It's not so hard to imagine that she's the fairest one of all'!" Luce sang out, imagining her friend's sweet, clear singing voice. She saw her friends so clearly when she wrote of them, all of their best qualities shining through.
Remembering her owner's challenge, she solemnly cleared off her desk and set a picture in front of her: a picture of herself that her owner had taken, of Luce smiling serenely at the camera with her eyes dancing. The sun had set her colorful pelt all asparkle and ashimmer, and she looked quite lovely in the lense's view. Luce always had the worst time writing about herself. "I don't see what they see," Luce whispered, gazing deeply into the picture, with no inspiration coming. How was she supposed to write about herself?! Her friends were her true muse!
"'Her stripes are crazy, wild and fun', 'When you see her you know the party hasn't even begun'!" Luce tried the taste of it on her tongue, then shook her head and whimpered. "Not right!"
"How about... 'Her bicolor eyes shine so prettily, like jewels', 'The fire in their hearts, the beauty, it fuels'...," Luce mumbled, then shook her head again, scratching it out so feircely she tore through the paper with a loud 'riiiip!'. "Darn it." The ink leaked through onto her writing desk, and she quickly blotted it out with the shreds of her poem before tossing it to the floor, not even bothering to aim for the waste bin.
Couplet after couplet she tried with no success. They simply didn't sink in with her like the ones she wrote about her friends. She couldn't ryhme as well, it didn't sound flattering at all, and it just didn't work. Why didn't her owner understand that?!
"'Her name brings to mind elegance so hearty', 'But really, she's the life of the party!'." "'Purple wings flutter and beat at the air', 'She seems so at home, way up there!'." "'She's not a fighter, not even close', 'But when she walks, her grace, it flows!'." One after another, she tossed them at the floor and groaned, burying her head into her arms and whimpering at how unsuccessful she was. "I just want to give up." She threw the quill onto her windowsill and trotted to the door. The hallway was empty. She was her owner's only JMD, which meant she would have to leave to find any companionship.
So she trotted away, leaving behind her messy room. Her owner trotted through and began to unfurl the papers, smiling at how wonderfully her plan had worked -- even though her JMD didn't seem to think so, her words only made her more beautiful.
Why you want her:I am honestly stunned by her beauty, I love those colors mixed together, and I've always wanted a JMD with a pink jewel. I love her bi-colored eyes especially, and she would be my first (or maybe second) JMD. I'm supposed to get a runner-up from another contest, but it's been probably a month and I'm beginning to think it's not happening. XD I would love for her to be my first JMD, she's so lovely.
Where she will go:My signature, my art gallery, my trade rules, wherever she wants. XD I honestly plan on spoiling her rotten with buying her art if I get her, and I'll try my hand at drawing a few, too.
