Pod #3 ~ Marianne(Owned by: sweetypie978)

    {Without neckerchief coming soon!}
What are PODs?
Pomme Orchard Deer, (Pomme Deer or PODs for short) are a very beautiful and majestic species. They greatly resemble a deer, for that was the species they evolved from. Pomme Deer are herbivores. They will only eat meat if they were starving. Their appearance is very hypnotizing. A Pomme Deer's silky, long fur attracts mates. The tail also plays a big part in mating, but can be used for other things. A Pomme Deer's tail is very important. It is used to protect their babies, much like a kangaroo carries it's joey in it's pouch. It's tail is also very handy for cold nights with it's owner. They find it quite silly that humans do not have fur. These deer usually can befound frolicing in meadows, or burrowing under forest trees. They are very shy creatures, and are not usually spotted by humans, thus the very small amount living with us. Once you spot the right Pomme deer, though, the tip of it's tail glows a brilliant, bright green. You are bound forever by that very light. Pomme Deer, much like dogs, are very loyal to it's owners. They will never leave your side. They are the most loveable creatures you will ever encounter, and they all long to have their perfect humans.

Her spots and antennas remind me of a Costa-spotted Mimic
butterfly, so I got Mimi, her nickname, from Mimic.

Gender:
Female

Personality:

Seductive
Not only is Mimi physically seductive with her enchanting appearance, but she can also be very seductive by simply using sounds. She makes beautiful sounds you could consider singing, it lures in almost anyone that hears it, like sailors to the sound of a Siren (mermaid). She is very physically attractive, as you can see, but she is also very graceful and swift, making her look all the more stunning while she dashes through the dappled sunlight seeping through the forest canopy.

Wise
Mimi tends to be very wise in how she acts and speaks with others, always thinking before doing. She is very bright, and tends to know much about what she does, so it is usually not a problem for her. When she does reach uncharted territory however, she tends to avoid it and move on, rather than face the problem.

Clever
Mimi always comes up with the cleverest way to solve problems, she never does what you would expect. It's very difficult to find a problem that Mimi can't solve, she is very bright and knowledgeable. I always enjoy watching her thought processes and the way she thinks, I have always wanted to see just how much goes through her head when she's solving a problem, her way of thinking is just incredible.

Kind
Mimi is always very sweet to everyone, but don't ever make the mistake of thinking that she's a pushover. Mimi will stand up for herself and others in a heartbeat; unless the others are wrong of course. Mimi almost always takes the side of science and fact over opinion or person, I think that is a very good quality that she possesses. Mimi loves everyone and cares for them, she just can't help loving others. Mimi is never mean to anyone, but every once and a while she will snap at someone.

Complicated
At times, Mimi can seem a little complicated. When solving a problem or explaining an answer, she often begins talking with extreme speed, often leaving the listener behind. I can keep up most of the time, but I think it is harder for others because they haven't been around her as long. She also often doesn't speak about things that have happened to her, and sometimes doesn't even speak to a person she has gone through something with.

Shy
Mimi isn't shy all of the time, but she definitely is when she's around strangers or in unknown territory. For the most part, Mimi tries to keep to herself, she isn't very sociable. This is probably because she is very different than everyone else, and her level of intelligence is way above others, which probably makes her want to keep to herself, to not bother to talk to to others about topics much simpler to her than to her friends.

Judgmental
Mimi is a little judgmental, but really only of people who don't take big matters seriously and who don't go at life in a logical matter. She grimaces at the thought of hunters who hunt for fun, to her they are only mindless, soul-less, sick beasts who don't care for the life that has been put on earth for a reason.

Stubborn
Because of Mimi's brilliant mind, she is often reluctant to change any decisions she has made. She is very strong-willed, and doesn't let others influence her. Once she has decided to or to not do something, you can almost never change her mind. It's a little annoying, but I can respect it. Even with little things, like not wanting to try a certain food, it's nearly impossible to sway her.

Story:

I included my character Lilac, a Jewel Mane dragon, in my story, so here is a picture of her and a little bit about the species. I also included my other characters, so look below the picture for the link to the website so that you may see them.

(This was not written by me, but by the owner of the species.)
A Jewel Mane Dragon is a large creature with jewels on their foreheads and tails. They eat mostly small mammals such as birds, squirrels, and rabbits. The fur on their back, hind, and front legs feel like the softest of silk and is pretty short. The fur around their neck (also know as their mane) and tail is very soft, fluffy, and long. Jewel mane Dragons mostly keep to themselves but when they find someone they like the grow very attached, loyal, and talkative. They're all slightly bigger than a mustang but some grow to be as large as a elephant. All Jewel Mane Dragons have jewels at the end of their tail and on their forehead, there's really no exception to that rule. The jewel on their tail is used as a weapon in combat and hunting, while the jewel on their forehead is used during mating season to atract females. Lilac has mind reading powers and phycic ability.

I walked slowly and quietly crouched to the ground, bow in hand, prepared to kill at any moment. I heard the near silent wings of my Jewel Mane dragon Lilac circling above, making sure to keep in contact with me. I saw a scrawny white dove perched on an out-hanging branch above me, the only living creature I had seen all day. The winter chill always sent fear into my heart, for it I knew was the end of hunting, for the animals all hid from the cold winter months, the time that I needed them most. I shivered and looked up at the bird. I straitened my right arm and pulled back my left, prepared to shoot. I heard and crunch of leaves behind me, and in the same instant I spun around with incredible speed, my arrow pointed at the one who had disturbed me. The dove flew away and I peered into the darkness, cursing at myself that I hadn't shot sooner. I squinted so that I could see who had disturbed me, seeing nothing. A figure emerged from the shadows and I stood, my bow still pointed in their direction. A deer-like creature stepped from the shadows, tilting it's head as if examining me. Lilac, come here please. I admired the creature's courage and wanted Lilac to connect our minds so I could see what the little thing had to say.

Violet landed softly behind me, placing her head on my shoulder. It was an off-white with a turquoise color on it's head and tail, and had different colored spots and stripes on it's body. Small tufts of fur grew on its four hooves and ear tips, and a pink neckerchief with turquoise dots was tied around it's neck. Link me to this creature, so I can see why she lost me the only bird I could find in this entire forest. Violet stepped between the two of us, and I lowered my bow. The jewels on her head and tail began to glow a bright purple, and I could suddenly feel the added touch of the creature. Violet spoke first, with both the creature and I hearing what she said. Who are you, and why did you cause my bond to loose her catch? I felt her jerk back in surprise at the noise of Violet's voice in her head, but then she slowly opened her mind and released her thoughts. My name is Marianne, I am a Pomme Orchard Deer, and I quite highly despise people who hunt for sport. I was taken back. Sport?! You think I hunt for the mere fun of killing helpless animals?! This is the only thing I can do to keep my family alive, and we still barely get by! I was furious at the animal, and the fact that it thinks that I kill animals just for fun. The deer looked up at me, perplexed. Is there anything else you could do for food, like gather fruits? I was fuming. If you hadn't already noticed, there's nothing to collect, everything is dead! I don't even know what's edible, I could put something in my mouth that could kill a person instantly, and I would never put my family in that kind of danger. looked up and her face lightened. I can help you.

I was eager about what she had to say, but I kept it well hidden. I flipped on my hood that shielded my face from the cold and swung my bow onto my back, crossing my arms to keep them warm. How can you help? I looked down at Marianne suspiciously. Do you have somewhere warm to go? Her question too me by surprise, but I answered quickly. Yes. My home, but why? I looked at her curiously. Because I can see that you uncomfortable because of the chilly air, so we will be able to talk with ease there. I went to deny it, but then I realized I was cold, so I nodded. Would you like to fly with us? I felt bad flying and then making Marianne walk, but she shook her head. I pointed South, the direction of the house, and she was gone in an instant. I quickly jumped onto Lilac's back and we launched into the air. Lilac connected the part of our minds that uses our eyes so that we could both look for her. I spotted a dash of turquoise and purple and we dove down, leveling out just behind Marianne, but we remained above the canopy. She was remarkably fast, but it wasn't hard for Lilac to keep up. I heard Marianne suddenly reestablish the connection between our minds. Are you both still here? I shivered and huddled closer to Lilac's back before responding. Yeah, we're still here, and by the way, I'm Blair, and this is Lilac. What do you need? Her mind became blurred, but she responded shortly after. I just wanted to let you know that you may call me Mimi, I know that it's much easier to say. I smiled, I've always loved that name. Okay, we'll try to remember. I looked around Lilac's neck and saw the house up ahead, and let Mimi know. Hey Mimi, the house is about 100 yards in front of you. I saw her begin to slow, and she reached a gentle stop when she reached the small clearing where the little house sat. It's a cottage made of large round stones, with a wooden roof, doors, and shutters. It's only one room, about twenty square feet, so it's kind of a squeeze. We have a couch, a bookshelf, a table, two chairs, an icebox, and a small wood stove. It's not much, but we get by. There's also a small pond, about five feet by five feet, and about eight feet deep in the corner of the room.

Lilac landed softly at the front of the house, arriving just a few seconds after Mimi. I quickly dismounted and rushed over to the door. I opened it and motioned inside. Quick, everyone inside, we need to let in as little cold air as possible. Violet and Mimi skittered through the door and I followed shortly after, quickly shutting the door behind me. Star had her hands behind her head, legs crossed, propped up against the back wall in one of the old kitchen chairs. Kiki and her brother Max were curled up together on the couch, and Layla was laying on the floor just below them. Liliana was sitting in the small pond combing her hair. Kiki saw me walk in and jumped up, fluttering from the couch into my hands. I laughed and grabbed her, hugging her tightly. She saw Mimi standing next to me, and snuggled deeper into my arms. "It's okay Kiki, she's a friend." She looked up, then jumped out of my hands. She slowly moved towards Mimi, and when she reached her, she sat down and looked up at her. Mimi bowed her head and touched noses with Kiki. Kiki snorted, then began bouncing around the room in delight of her knew friend. Star sat her chair down on all fours and put her elbows on her knees, looking glumly over at me. Max rolled over on his back, kicking in his sleep. "Did you get any food? I'm so hungry." Lily asked hopefully, flipping her tail in the water. Layla stood up. "No, she doesn't, I would be able to smell it by now." Lily sunk into the water in disappointment, huffing. Star looked up through her bangs. "Who and what is she?" I suddenly thought of an easier way for Mimi to communicate with us instead of being linked. "Hold on, I've got something." It was a collar I had made for Kiki, but she is still a puppy, so she can't speak. "This collar will allow you to speak English, it has a very tiny piece of Violet's jewel set in it, it broke off when she was hit in the head with a rock." I walked over to Mimi and snapped it on her neck. Mimi wiggled in it for a moment, getting it comfortable on her neck. She paused then tried to speak.

"Does it work?" Mimi asked curiously in a beautiful melodious voice. "Yes! It works!" I shrieked in delight, scaring Max awake, who jumped up from his position growling. I laughed and picked him up, snuggling him close. "What was that?" Max looked up with sleepy, curious eyes. "The collar works, I was just really happy that it worked." I looked down at him, but he just shrugged and flew back over to the couch, falling back asleep instantly. I took of my coat and threw it on him, but he didn't even budge. I giggled and faced Mimi. "How does it feel? Any adjustments I need to make?" I wanted to make it as comfortable as possible for her. "Yes, it's perfect, let's talk now." She sat down on the hard dirt floor covered by a thin layer of rugs, laying her head down on her back. ""So, how are you going to help us?" Mimi still hadn't given us even a hint for what she was planning. Mimi's eyes remained shut, but she answered. "You may still hunt, but I am going to teach you how to gather plants that are safe to eat, and how you can safely tell whether or not they are edible. Because all of you still need protein in your diet, you will eat several different types of nuts, which I will also teach you how to find. You may hunt, but it will be treated as a delicacy, and only be eaten once a month." I was uncertain, but nodded my head in agreement. "That sounds great! But on one condition." Mimi gave me a peculiar look. "And what would that be, may I ask?" I smiled. "You're one of us now, you're sticking with this family." Mimi grinned and bowed her head. "I'd love that." I never really wanted to kill animals, but it was the only food I could get for my family, but now I would have to kill to survive. Mimi stood up and walked towards the door. She nudged it open with her muzzle and stepped outside. She paused at the door frame, looking back at me. "Well, are you coming to learn or not?" I smiled and chased after her, ready to start a new life, one where I could give my family what they deserve.

Why you want her:

The moment I saw Mimi, I fell in love with her. Her colors are lovely, they make me think of flowers and very alien beauty, very different from what others would think of when speaking on these terms, but yet she is still gorgeous. She is very different from any other character I have, she would make a perfect addition to my character website located here. As you can see, I also need a character that isn't a dog, and a Pomme Orchard Deer is perfect! I also don't want to see this character abused or forgotten, and I know I will be able to take great care of her!

[center]Name: Solene
Gender: Female
Personality: She used to be very, VERY happy and such but now she is mute and mellow. She is not very good in groups and likes being individual. PLUS: She can easily be encouraged, and DIScouraged.
Story: When Solene was just a fawn there was a great battle in the forest where she thrived. There was a large mix-up and somehow ended up to be raised by the bad side. She is secretly the daughter of the GOOD king of the forest (Who was a POD.)
Why you want her: I want her because I love deer (and pommes apples too!) It is also my birthday, but that dosen't matter. :D

Story:

I included my character Lilac, a Jewel Mane dragon, in my story, so here is a picture of her and a little bit about the species. I also included my other characters, so look below the picture for the link to the website so that you may see them.

Whoops sorry guys xD Still gotta get used to being an artist. Anyhow, the winner of this POD is
sweetypie978!

sweetypie978 wrote:
Name:
Marianne
