Name:
Hraunið
This is Islandic for lava.
Pronounced as how-ra-nee-uh
Gender:
Male
Power:
Can turn night into day.
Birthday:
October 31st
Personality:Sweet
Hraunið is very sweet, he can be very caring and thoughtful. He likes to help others, and make the ones he loves feel better. He usually doesn't do big things for people, but more often he does little, subtle things that really add up in the end. He's also very humble, so a lot of times, he doesn't take credit for the nice things he does. Hraunið really watches over our whole family, and he always blames himself when something happens to one of us.Well-rounded
This means that Hraunið is pretty good at everything, but is only very skilled at a couple things, and only does poorly while doing a couple of activities. Hraunið's favorites are recon missions, it allows him to use his stealth, stength, and leadership skills. I will often send him on silly little missions to make him happy, he loves them.he sometimes gets a little caught up in them, but he just has a very vibrant imagination.Strong
Hraunið is very strong, in both body and mind. Even for a JMD, Hraunið has incredible strength, he can fly with 4 people on his back easily, Lilac can barely manage two. The thing is, Violet's faster than he is when carrying people, but he's still pretty fast. Hraunið doesn't let people bait or influence him, he knows he is his own person, and no one else can change that, or anger him about something that doesn't matter.Brave
Hraunið is pretty brave, he almost never backs down from anything, and he can't Resist a challenge. There is only one thing that he often isn't brave about; love. He really cares for a certain JMD, but he won't say. I know who it is, but I don't wish to embarrass him. Maybe if I own him and his crush, he will be more open with his feelings.Gentle
Hraunið may seem like a big tough guy, but underneath, he can be very sweet and gentle. He doesn't really like talking care or dealing with small children, no matter the species, but he is very good with them, I think he just doesn't realize it yet. When speaking a thing of bad news, he never speaks harshly, but of caring words, to help them take the news more easily.Likeable
Hraunið is very easy to like, it's not every day that you stumble upon a dragon like him. He is very powerful, yet gentle when needed. I think he is also well-rounded in this way, he isn't just one or the other, he is both strong and sweet. Hraunið won't tell me who, but several other dragons have been swooning over him since his first day in this world, and it isn't only because of his good looks. He has self-confidence in his looks, just not his personality, when people have always loved both about him.Manipulative
Hraunið's looks and personality are very persuasive, making it easy for him to manipulate. He can affect both genders, using different qualities of his for each individual person, personalizing their manipulation down to the dot. He doesn't do it often, despite him being a natural at manipulation. He's only tried it on me once, it doesn't work, and he knows not to try it again. I think his ability comes partially from his power of turning night into day, his ability to "change the stars".
Story:
Told from the POV of Hraunið.
I jerked around at a small sound behind me, looking back but seeing nothing but more trees, looming above me. I hated walking, I always feel so closed in. But it didn't matter, I was alone. I had left my pack, and for good reasons. Everyone hated me, I was just too strong and fast for them, they thought I was some kind of witchcraft, just because I was more athletic and was born on Halloween. I kicked the dirt angrily and looked up. I saw a small gap in the leafless canopy and flew up through it. I landed on a large branch and looked for the sun. It was disappearing, nearly gone over the horizon. I saw the moon beginning to rise, and I knew I needed more daytime, so my jewel began to glow. Everything began going in reverse, the sun arose from the horizon and came back to the center of the sky, and the moon went backwards and disappeared from view over the horizon. Some days I think my power is dumb, but at times like these, it's actually very helpful. I flew back down to the earth, not wanting to be spotted by a hostile dragon. I kept walking, not knowing where I was going or where I would end up. I had walked for a few hours, but I was not really tired yet. My ears were perked, keeping myself aware of my surroundings was my best defense in the forest. I saw a large oak tree, it had had a huge trunk and long, twisted roots crawling out in all directions. I walked up to it and saw a large cave underneath. I could just barely fit, but I was out of sight and would be able to rest in peace. I drifted to sleep, still remaining completely aware.
SNAP! I jerked awake when the ground around me began to shake and I heard the tree being torn apart. I lay still until the tree stopped moving, and peeked out of my hide hole. Laying on a large branch on the ground was a little girl, human girl. She seemed hurt, blood ran from a cut from her forehead and she was gripping her chest in pain. I was going to go help her, but then a beautiful dragon came into view, and I shrunk back. I couldn't see well from the shadows, but her jewel appeared to be purple. I thought that was the girl's bond, so I remained where I was. The girl began screaming and writhing in pain, and I shrunk back. The little girl stopped moving. She lay still for a moment, then stood. She placed a hand on the dragon's jewel and bowed, a sign of respect and thanks among dragons. The dragon launched into the air and the girl began sulking back towards the tree where I was, probably going to retrieve her bow and quiver that lay there on the ground. She bent slowly over and slung her quiver on, the grabbed her bow and let it hang limp by her side. I was confused, but I guess the dragon had not been her bond, but had just saved her and left. I shifted my paw to scooch out of sight, and broke a branch. Oh no. I looked down and bit my lip, afraid she had heard me. I peeked out, and the girl was standing ready and aware, a silver arrow strung on her solid black bow. She skulked slowly in my direction, looking around for what she had heard. She stopped, looked around for a moment, then straitened up, she obviously didn't know I was there and thought I was only a small animal. She began walking briskly back in the direction of me, probably headed home. I let out a sigh of relief when she passed by the tree without stopping, and I heard the sound of metal against wood. I froze. I slowly turned and about a yard away was the girl, an arrow strung and aimed directly at my head.
The sun bagan to set, and my jewel began to glow. The girl squinted and shot, probably afraid to find out what my power was. I didn't know if the arrow had hit me or not, it's like I go into the avatar state when I use my powers, I'm unaware of anything happening around me. The sky moved in reverse, the sun and moon sliding backwards, as night turned to day. The sun became fixed in the middle of the sky and my jewel dimmed. I breathed out and collapsed, drained by one of the most powerful and draining powers of them all. The girl had dropped to her knees, her mouth hung agape. Her arms hung limp by her side, and her head bowed, and she slowly closed her eyes. She slowly stood and walked over to me, taking a large black jewel from her pocket. I didn't know what to do, I couldn't move, so I simply lay there, helpless and vulnerable. She knelt down by my head and layed her right hand down gently on my shoulders. I flinched, but didn't have the stength to move anymore than that. She pulled up her left hand, which held the black jewel and touched the point the the point of my jewel. Energy suddenly flowed through me like electricity, and I arched my back from the sudden surge of power. She slowly pulled away the black jewel, staunching the flow of energy. The jewel had lost its sparkle; it was now it looked closer to a dull black rock. I stood and shook the debris from my coat, and the girl shrunk back and shielded her eyes with her arm. She slowly stood and slid the jewel back into her pocket shakily. She was very shaky, struggling to stay standing. She began to sway and I caught her with my back under her arm just before she fell. I lowered her gently to the ground and looked down at her curiously. Even when she was standing, I towered over her, I'm extremely large, even for a JMD, about the size of a large draft horse. She looked up and lightly touched my head. I layed down and crouched until I was eye level with her. "Hraunið." I jerked back in surprise at hearing my name. "I'm Blair, and you must be my bond." She smiled weakly and I wiggled with joy, knowing that I had finally found my true bond.
