Whelkon Name: Nellie
History (About 200 words):
Nellie was the first whelk from her two parents, young mates that were new to this particular herd, for they had been chased out of their previous home. The forest she was raised in was rather large, and made for easy protection against humans, and so she rarely has had any contact with them, though she is curious about them. She gained her younger brother when she was around seven years old, and thoroughly enjoyed showing him the ropes of their forest and all the good spots for foraging and playing in. She hasn't found herself any sort of love, and has been content with staying with her family, helping look after her brother and being a part of the herd.
Short Story (300 words max or disqualified):
It was another bright day, early dawn, and she was already out and about. Poking around the outskirts of her home lands, passing the familiar hunting trails of other predator animals and scattering groups of birds and other small mammals, was Nellie. The youthful female had decided to go and do a little exploring today, caving into her growing curiosity about...everything unknown, really. She was at complete ease, even when the terrain became unfamiliar to her. That's when she caught her first sight of a human. She was stepping around a large, old tree when she heard the sound of crunching twigs.
She turned her head and her ears flicked forward in surprise to see a youthful female human walking down a well worn-out trail. She stepped back and hid amongst the leaves of the tree, watching her in silence. The teenager didn't seem to notice her, or so she thought- she continued to walk, and after a little while, she stopped before a tree. Not five feet from the hiding Nellie, whom watched her scale the tree and sit in one of the branches, looking out contentedly. What was she doing? She remained there for hours, as did Nellie, observing out of her growing curiosity. The girl left, but not after glancing back and looking straight at her hiding spot. Had she been spotted?! She obviously had, but the girl just smiled and then continued on her way. The Whelkan stepped out and watched her, blinking.
Hmm...Curious... She turned back around and headed home, but decided she'd come back to see if she could find the girl again another day.
Why you want this Whelkon (Few sentences):
I had this roleplay character, an elf named Aranel, that I roleplayed on a different site. I played her for four straight years, and just recently retired her (like...in the past week), and when I first caught sight of this Whelkan, I was instantly reminded of her. I couldn't shake it- she just worked so perfectly that I had to try for her. If she had been an animal, she would definitely have been this lovely lady<3
