Prompt 1

"No, you can't come with me you insufferable beast. Kalokairi is no place for a tiny fumusigni."

A small, smokey creature stood dejected before Aaheru. It's beady, flame-eyes seemed to droop and the smoke curls making up it's body swirled in agitation. The scent of ash and firecrackers wafted from the creature. It's little paws left burns marks in the carpet.

Aaheru was agitated. This was the fourth time he had told the smoke creature no, and it didn't seem to want to accept the answer. Truth was, the small thing would probably get squished where he was going. The purple Kalon inspected his obsidian daggers, testing the edge. Once found suitable he tossed them in his pack(which honestly seemed to never end). A warmth on his foot alerted him to the smoke creature. Aaheru huffed before bending down and scooping it up.

It's little eyes blinked slowly as it curled around his arm, the creature as soft as foam.

"Little ash, you cannot come." His firm tone caused the smoke creature to droop. "But I have an important job for you," Aaheru murmured. "You must stay and guard my home. No one enters and nothing leaves." The smoke creature doubled in size, puffing out its chest(so to speak). The darkest smoke of its middle sparked and crackled with fire. "You won't let me down, will you, little ash?" The smoke creature shook it's head vehemently before sliding down Aaheru's arm to begin its duty. The Kalon chuckled at it's enthusiasm. He check off a few things on his list, haphazardly tossing vials and a teapot in his pack. After scratchin his head in thought, Aaheru also threw in a tome, a time piece, and two different shoes. That should do it.

At the very least, none of his possessions would be stolen. At worst, his home would burn. Eh, you win some, you lose some.

"Now, when was that boat leaving again?"

ᴛᴏ ᴇᴍʙᴀʀᴋ ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ǫᴜᴇsᴛ.

Allariia, Ixion and Ico prepare for their quest
Allariia is their designated alchemist or black mage. She packs various potions for their long trip, including poisons, paralyzing potions and tonics to heal and strengthen her comrades. She carries a staff as well, tangled in thorns she likes to use to help her along. Whether it be smacking goblins on the head or attempting to summon lightning, it has many uses that she'd rather not live without.
Ixion, master of weapons gathers proper materials for survival and defense. Daggers for the party to carry at their waste, his lance for fighting and water. He was considered the leader of the group having the most experience in combat and being familiar with the wild grounds outside. For Ico, he brought a thin, silver sword that would favor his fast movements and skill. Being the muscle for the most part, he could be considered a warrior of sorts if warriors were also smart.
Ico was the least experienced of the group, a traveler who happened to be walking by the town during their time of need. Being nice and trying to offer help, he got sucked into the group almost against his will. Ico is a smooth talker, quick on his paws and fairly good at stealing when he needs to. He was told he'd be valuable sweet talking others or sneaking them around, but he wasn't so sure. He gathered food with what little coin they had and threw on his traveling gear.
"What'd you manage?" Asked Ixion, putting his dagger into the sheath around his waste with low expectations.
"Some bread, cheese, apples and nuts. The cheese will spoil fast, but I figured we could use it anyway." Ico replies, pulling the sack over his shoulder hoping the cheese lasted a few days. Never know if you'd need it for the giant mouse hunting or passing it along to strangers. Allariia rolled her eyes slightly, handing each of them a stone. Her stone was red, Ixion's was blue and Ico's was white like clouds.
"Trinkets of mine, be sure not to lose them... Are we ready then?" Her thorn staff stood at her side, looking at the two boys with mild interest. They had food, weapons and magic on their side like any good group needed... She prayed it was enough to get them through.

    Prompt 1 | Jia-Ae | Roster Post
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Dʀᴀᴡ/ᴡʀɪᴛᴇ ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴋᴀʟᴏɴ(s) ᴘʀᴇᴘᴀʀɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ᴇᴍʙᴀʀᴋ ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ǫᴜᴇsᴛ.

Standing under the Pavilion roof in the uppermost floor, a small figure of a thin man illuminated under the bright moonlight, pale skin and icy hair seemingly glowing, as it stood out starkly against the dark backdrop. His movements were made with haste, long nimble fingers working to tie the last pieces of his assets into a bag strapped against his waist, as he dared not to make a sound in the dead of the night.

For a rogue, sneaking out of the pavilion should have been not an issue to comprehend, even. But Jia-Ae would need certain valuables to make his quest worth it- certain valuables that he had been hastily sneaking away from the Court and into the Pavilion for the past couple of days. Certain valuables that he was now strapping to himself, as time began to run out and a stir in the lower levels seemed to heighten Jia-Ae's senses.

He stood at the edge of the pavilion balcony, eyeing the forest that stretched beyond, admiring the trees that seemed to populate the small area like ants populated an ant hill.

Strapped to his waist, Jia-Ae could feel the weight of a sword at his side, teetering almost a little dangerously, if not for the sheath that safely encased the shining metal. The handle of the sword stuck out against the white of Jia-Ae's clothing, gold accented red. Two characters '如意' (Ru-yi) glimmered just so in the moonlight to catch it's present holder's eyes. And it made Jia-Ae's chest swell victoriously at every catch- this is the sword of Ru-yi, but it is now in his hands to wield.

In his bag, Jia-Ae is acutely aware of another item of Ru-Yi's, stolen just the same, and feeling just as prideful as with the sword. A foldable crossbow, small and portable. Adorned with the same design as his sword, just as deadly as the sword attached to his hip. It would shoot arrows at the time of need, from a distance one could usually not achieve with a simple crossbow. Holding more power than what a simple wielder could possibly imagine; a part of Jia-Ae almost felt a surge of adrenaline at the chance to use it- despite hoping to never make use of the item. It was a weapon designed for battles Jia-Ae hoped not to encounter on his quest.

The last of Jia-Ae's weapons, though not equipment, was so small, no one would ever suspect it to be as deadly as the former two. It sat snug against Jia-Ae's right pointer finger in the form of a ring, small and decorative; secretive. Only useful in the closest form of combat, the ring held a secret blade that was sharp enough to cut through thick materials, but small enough to be missed. For Jia-Ae this piece of weaponry could be what saves his life in danger, and the most useful in a serious situation. No one suspects a thing out of the ordinary.

Jia-Ae takes a step onto the balcony railing, and there is a pause, before he launches himself into the open air, the forest of trees far below as he spread his wings to fly-- fly with the last of what was taken from the court, rather than his wings. Jia-Ae's last item in his possession as he started his quest, was a cape like item that connected from his wrist to his ankles in sheets of cloth. When spread apart, it acted like a pair of bat wings that allowed for the user to glide for an extended period of time without crashing into the earthy floor below. The quest was a dangerous one; Jia-Ae knew better than to expose himself and give his rivals the opportunity to shoot him from the sky and injure his wings.

In his warrior cloth, Jae-Sung looked up from the counter of the shop he was currently standing in. And array of weapons hung on the walls of the small enclosed space and the male's eyes sparkled as he looked each with an eye of curiosity. Occasionally, he'd ask to pick one up and give it a try, however, none of them caught his eye, until he saw the glint of a particular sword sitting on the highest shelf of the shop.

Quickly, the male pointed at the sword and asked for it to be brought down, smiling triumphantly as the shop keeper told him he had a good eye for weapons and proceeded to hand him the sword he had asked for.

The sword was one that Jae-Sung, despite being a warrior, had never seen before and immediately, the male asked for a bargain price. The negotiation took more than an hour for a reasonable price, but soon, the man was walking out with the sword he had wanted since it caught his eye.

With whatever money the male had left, Jae-Sung bought some bread and water- less perishable foods, and headed out of the small town, ready to begin his journey with just some food and water for basic survival and a sword at his side that he couldnt be prouder of obtaining.

Re: [RPG] Kalon Summer Event // Prompts

      Prompt; Day One
Kalokairi, Heart of the Village, 25th of Pegastyme, 401 V.C.

A young archer strolled his way into the heart of town with his head held high. It was today that said archer,
Akechi, planned on leaving the place he called home. The kalon was set on protecting Kalokairi alone, filled with thoughts of being seen as a hero, and defeating villains with ease. The justice he hoped to spread wasn't very useful, but as one of the few kalons that hadn't been fatigued in the village, he truly wanted to do something about it. And so Akechi was now taking his assumed last trip around town before his final departure.

"It hasn't been safe to leave your village as of late. I hear even the neighboring town isn't safe to go to alone... Devastating, is it not?" "Oh of course... Recently I haven't even been feeling like myself." While walking through the village Akechi overheard two of the villagers that still had the energy to get up, obviously spreading news around. "Not safe to go alone?" He echoed and the two townsfolk turned their heads towards him, obviously hearing his interest. "Look at you! Lugging a bow on your back... are you planning on to leaving town today?" One questioned. "Well, I was planning on it. Until I overheard a bit of your conversation.." "Oh. Look, you're young! What harm would a few demons on the border do to you?" They chuckled and Akechi cracked a smile. "I wouldn't know, I haven't been out of the village yet." He admitted, now feeling a bit weary about leaving. "Tell you what, It's a good idea to go looking for company if you want to get somewhere." "You know, He may smell like the tavern floor, but I heard that Kirin's a skilled Lancer." "Kirin?" That seemed to spark Akechi's interest. "Yup, If you're in need of steel, you could no better than him in these parts. One of the few still feeling just fine around here." "You could probably have him join you if you give him a pretty penny... He's strong, I'll give him that." "Alright... Where can I find him?" "He's Probably the only one in the tavern.. go on now, look for him if you'd like. I wouldn't want to hold you to it."

Akechi had made his way to the tavern in a hurry and now entered with wide eyes. In truth, he had never been in a tavern before, but indeed it was almost empty at this time of day. He scanned the the building in silence and indeed he spotted a lone kalon at a table. Rather than ale in his hands, the kalon seemed to be quietly reading a book, concentrated. Even without the other looking very intimidating from behind, Akechi cautiously approached him.
"You're Kirin, Yes?" Akechi asked in a soft voice. "Yep, that's me. Who're you, boy?" With a quick reply, narrow eyes looked up at Akechi and the other kalon put his book down on the table. "My name is Akechi. The people around here speak quite highly of your skill with a lance. I'd like to enlist your services as a protector... If you'd be so kind." Akechi stated what he wanted with determined eyes but Kirin didn't seem to have much of a reaction. "You want me on guard duty for you, eh? Headed somewhere?" "I'm looking to travel the Kalokairi lands. I've realized that finding the elemental crystals that I dream of is no feat that I can achieve myself." "Jeez, That's some desire you got there. A round trip is awfully far... not to mention the demons scurrying around.." "That's the exactly why I need your aid. Unless you think a demon or two is too much for you to handle? I'm sure a tavern like this keeps you busy." Akechi dryly remarked and Kirin's right eye twitched a bit. "Oh, that's real cute. Believe me lad, I ain't worried about any demons. All I'm worried about is if you can pay. I wouldn't work for a gaudy kid at the price of nothing." Nodding his head in agreement to what Kirin said, Akechi reached into the bag on his back, pulled out all the gems inside, and placed them on the table before him.
Eyes lighting up at the sight, Kirin let out a whistle, "Well, aren't you prepared?" "Perhaps this is sufficient?" "Hmm... It's not like I've been getting any other jobs recently. Guess you got a deal, kid. I'll get you around." "Excellent! Then we'll take off tomorrow?" While Akechi had planned on leaving today, the addition of another member wasn't exactly anticipated. "Mhmm, I'll be here, same time tomorrow. Come prepared."

And with that, the inexperienced Archer and seasoned Spear Master had made a deal to begin and prepare for their so called "quest". Unbeknownst to them, a masked mage who reclined in the corner of the tavern planned on joining them the next day without a word.

[RPG] Kalon Summer Event // Prompts

Postby Checkinder » Tue Jun 27, 2017 8:15 am

Prompt: Day One

Dʀᴀᴡ/ᴡʀɪᴛᴇ ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴋᴀʟᴏɴ(s) ᴘʀᴇᴘᴀʀɪɴɢ
ᴛᴏ ᴇᴍʙᴀʀᴋ ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ǫᴜᴇsᴛ.

The carriage rattled along the rocky dirt road, horse hooves adding to the melody of the otherwise silent night. No words were shared between the two Kalons who shared this night trip; one out of fear of the Kalon he was delivering and the other out of sheer disinterest.
Erebos yawned, his gaze fixed on the passing scenery. The sound of the horses made his stomach growl, however he had promised upon agreeing to this mission that he'd eat nothing more than proper food. The Siren blood would have to wait for now.
As they entered a shadowed forest, Erebos let his eyes close for a few moments to remind himself what he was supposed to be doing here. He was hired by some weird kingdom that not even his best friend could really tell him about to take care of some weird...monsters or demons or whatever. All he knew was they weren't edible and that he just had to fight them. And hopefully not cry while doing it. There would also be two other Kalons, but he wouldn't meet them until a bit later. He was pretty nervous about it.
A bump in the road brought him back to the present. The driver of the carriage called back to him to alert him of the approaching destination. Erebos's ears pricked in interest as he stuck his head out of the open window, tail ruffling slightly in equal parts excitement and fear. The scents of many Kalons reached him, as well as traces of fire, maybe a bit of sickness here and there, but most importantly food. Well, really most of the scents could be taken as food but 'you're not allowed to eat other Kalons this time, Erebos.'
It wasn't long before he spotted two Kalons standing by the tree. Going by their looks, he suspected they were the two he was meant to travel with. Both of them were female, taller than him, and one appeared to be blind. They were both incredibly intimidating and gave an aura of powerful magic.
Erebos wasn't too sure of this anymore.

Day 1 Prompt
Starring Zachary "Ziggy" and Samael "Sam"
(557 words)

Zachary entered the village. He still didnt belive he was going on this adventure. How did they make him leave his comfortable room? Anyways, a kingdom was to be saved. Ziggy walked over to a small food store. Food was the most important thing to have with him. He filled his bag with as much food and water as he could carry. It would be a long way to find those gems and starving was the least acceptable death ever possible.
Afterwards he decided to get himself a sword. He was quite a good fighter, and always wanted to be a knight. So this was the time to proof he was worth it.

"So you go on a journey?", a young kalon asked. He couldnt be older than fourteen. Zachary was a little wary. He wasnt sure, weather he should tell the kit about his quest. The little one looked so curious. Ziggy decided to give it a go. He told everything about his quest and how he would finally make his way to become a knight. All he needed was a sword.
"A knight needs a knave.", the little one added, "do you have a knave already?"
"Im not a knight right now... I will need to go on this quest alone.", Zachary sighed. He suddenly wasnt sure about his plans. How would he be able to get along all on his own. Orientation for example wasnt his best skill. He would so much get lost...
The little kit smiled, "you dont need to go alone. I can still be your assistent. You know, my family is very weak already, and I need to help them. Please take me with you. I will help you against the dark force." Hope seemed to light up his face.

Ziggy thought it over and over. He wasnt able to tell the boy to leave, but was he able to take care of him? After quite some time, Zachary nodded. "If you promise to stay close to me, and follow my instructions, you can join me. What's your name?"
The kit nearly exploded, "thank you so much! Im Samael, but feel free to call me Sam. Thank you! Might I just give you some more advice on what to take with you?"
Ziggy nodded again. A mistake as he recognised. Sam gave him a long list of necessary things. Zachary felt a little naive, as he would have forgotten more than half of it. Probably a good choice to keep the young boy around. He was way better prepared for adventures. Ziggy still got himself a sword and a leather armour first. For Samael he got a dagger and some light armour aswell. The little kit told him about knowing some recipes for medicine. Sam seemed to know quite a bit about herbs and how to use them well. Better get him what ever he needed.

After Samael was satisfied with the equipment they decided to have a rest. They would need some sleep. Who knows, when they would have a comfortable bed again to sleep in. On the next day, they would get started on the quest. A kingdom was to be saved. By a want to be knight who always prefered to stay home and an adventurous little kit. Are those two really able to save the kingdom?

Link to art.
Bromine and Reed are gathering supplies and maps, while Silvio is just lounging and watching, claiming to be "mentally" preparing for the journey.
