Adeline
{ Add - a - line }
She allows those who she loves to refer to her as Addy for short. She often doesn't acknowledge the beauty in her name. The Latin meaning of the name Adeline is; "Of the nobility. Noble".
A d e l i n e ' s ~ M e a d o w

Adeline inhaled the sweet-smelling wind that blew through her fur. The flowers around her seemed to sigh with the same wind blowing the stems together. All kinds of colors; blue, red, yellow, pink... They all mixed and together and took the shape of different types of flowers. Each one had a special scent; roses smelled bold and confident while the tulips smelt fragile yet beautiful. Adeline continued to pad through the beautiful meadow; carefully avoiding the sharp thorns from rose stems. Every so often, the feather on her tail would wrap around the stems of some of the flowers yet she always delicately removed it. Most of the time she was careful and nimble so she very rarely had any problem with this. It wasn't every day she could escape whatever stresses the day had presented for her; but she was grateful when she could, especial when it was at that beautiful time of say when the sun was low enough in the sky that the sky turned the shade of yellow that contrasted with her fur colors. Yes, it was the beautiful sunsets that Adeline loved most about the spring. Even the fresh scent of young lavender flowers couldn't persuade her to change her mind.
It wasn't long now; her favorite spot, the highest point of this flowery meadow; she'd be able to watch the falling of the bright, always-burning star called the sun. Adeline circled in place and carefully tucked her legs under her body as she laid down. Just in time; the sun was dipping down. The wind almost agreed with her as it died down and allowed the Kiamara to appreciate the beauty in silence. Just the way she liked it.
P e r s o n a l i t y Adeline has a very spunky personality. Her bold colors compliment her tendency to talk. However; she always has something intelligent to say. She won't say something she's not 100% sure about. She's also a very elegant Kiamara. She always walks with her head up high and gracefully; she would never let anyone see her tripping over her paws. She loves laughing and loves anything that's funny although she's not the best at telling jokes herself. She's very easy to get along with and loves to be with others.
She's not very fond of anything gory. She has a love for all living things and seeing their
life-force outside of their body upsets her. She's also very timid of anything scary; jump-scares especially
upset her. She's also dependent on others. She doesn't like being alone unless it's in a tranquil setting like
a peaceful meadow or the safety of her own home. Wherever she goes; she wants a friend to be with her.
A d e l i n e ' s ~ H i s t o r y
As a pup, she often received small, snarky comments about how bold her
fur color was. Most of these were just her friends harmlessly teasing her; she never took any of them
seriously and often joked around with them. However there were few, but some who gave her nasty
comments about it. These comments made her grow stronger and brought her closer to her friends for
comfort. These comments changed her outlook on negativity and ultimately made her smile grow even
larger than before. They shaped who she was, they drove her closer to her friends and family. Growing up;
she was very attached to her mother. whom was one of her best friends. Adeline especially loved the flowers
that grew around her home. In the spring; the flowers would grow in almost every color in the rainbow; leaving
Adeline with the visage of a beautiful meadow. She loved squinting her eyes and soaking up all of the smudged colors.

Adeline received her feathers from her mother; they were passed down to her when
she reached two and a half years old. She treasures them as if they were her own children. Ever since she was young;
she had always had a fondness for the color yellow. Whenever she's feeling down she'll often look at her feathers as a
reminder of the happiness she felt when she received them, or the kindness her mother used on her. Her favorite
memory can be traced back to the day (October 30. exactly a half a year before her birthday.) when she first tied the
feather to her tail and hung the other on her ear.A d e l i n e ' s ~ P r e s e n t
It was a quiet day and one of Adeline's rather upsetting ones. Another day without her feathers,
another day of watching her friends grow up and receive theirs. Nobody had said anything; but she knew her
friends were beginning to talk. "Isn't that kiamara two years old? Where are her feathers?"
"I don't know... Strange isn't it?" "Poor thing..." were phrases she could almost hear her peers gossiping.
No one would ever say anything of course; her friends were too nice for that. Once in a while; a kia that
didn't understand how sensitive the topic was to her would curiously ask about the missing objects and Adeline
would simply walk away. She didn't want to snap at them; it was very rude and unlike her easy-going nature.
As soon as she returned home; she found it unusually quiet. Usually she would hear her younger brother jumping
around and playing with her younger sister, or her father telling a joke to her other younger brother, but nothing.
She stuck her head around the corner of her house and quietly said;
"Is anybody home?" No response. Nothing. She tried repeating this phrase but nothing. She didn't get any response.
Not at first at least. After about five minutes of looking for some trace of her family she heard a small rustling in a nearby
room. Her lion-like ears perked at the sound and she cautiously followed it; tail swishing behind her. Adeline let out a small
sigh when she turned the corner and saw her mother walking into the house.
"Hello Addy, good to see you back. How was your day?" Her mother gave her a soft yet comforting smile and Adeline almost
forgot about her troubles.
"It was fine, Mom. Where were you and where's everyone else?"
"..." The older Kiamara sighed and closed her eyes, "They're out. I had to make sure they were distracted so I could
present someone with a small surprise." An almost mischievous grin flashed from Adeline's mom but she let it slide;
assuming it was her own imagination.
"Oh really, who's it for?" The ever-curious Adeline tilted her head, wanting to distract herself from her own stresses
by giving to someone else. Giving usually made her feel better for a few days, even with the absence of feathers.
"Look on that rock," Her mother pointed her muzzle towards a nearby rock. The rock seemed to be holding two small,
brightly colored objects. The color was almost luminescent, yet it seemed peaceful. With curiosity guiding her; Adeline
followed her mother's request and graciously padded up to the rock. She couldn't believe her eyes. Everything she had
been stressing herself over; all the unsaid comments she imagined and all the self-conscious believes of viewing herself as
a socially inept Kiamara could all be solved with these two little, soft feathers.
"There yours, dear. I meant to give these to you on your second birthday but I completely lost track of time. They're yours
now, and hopefully you can forgive me. I know that yellow is your favorite color after all. Put them on, Addy, I want to see
how they look." Adeline jumped at the sudden realization that her mother was behind her. The presence of the feathers
made her forget where she was and her surroundings.
With no struggle at all; one feather was tied around her tail and the other was hung around her ear piercing. She didn't
cry when she saw herself in a reflective pond; she smiled proudly. Quietly she muttered;
"Thank you mother..."
