Username: The Lost soul
JBDHO profile: The Lost soulJBD's name: Kid (The name Tsume calls her, but Roxanne gave her a legal name being Alex)
Gender: Inergender/Genderpunk
Though she goes by female pronouns, Kid doesn't allow anyone to call her a 'girl' or a young 'lady'. She refuses those, but she goes by female pronouns. Kid is indifferent to gender identities and doesn't like the concept of it and all the fancy words confuse her. She is masculine, dressing and acting as such, but she didn't change her pronouns. Even if she did, Tsume would always call Kid a 'she'(sometimes 'it', if she's being a brat), so it would be futile.
Personality:Full of fire and spite, this bean has the attitude of a beast, snappy, vicious, and without mercy, she is a terror to behold. Her bark is only a formality, her bite is quite literal, and when she means it, she means it. Sarcastic and demeaning to authority, she doesn't give two flicks of her tail if you've got something to say about her bad behavior, she'll brush you off or knock your head around. Kid is a nightmare to most, and she won't care if you cry when she knocks you on your butt. She's hardened and tough as nails from a life with Tsume on the road.
Her caretaker, Tsume, has had a lot of influence on her and how she acts. Expressing herself clearly is difficult and is usually just her yelling and pushing her weight around. With no sense of empathy, she lacks the ability to understand another's pain or point of view and can come off as obstinate or close-minded... though, in reality, she is exactly that, but out of ignorance, not deliberate action or thought.
Kid is the epitome of ultimate freedom, marked with the stigma of bad parenting. She holds nothing back and doesn't adhere to any rules, which she prides herself in profoundly. Kid speaks freely without any hesitation or worry about being offensive or hurtful. She goes about as she pleases, disregarding her, and other's, safety, often doing absurd stunts without thinking if it could hurt, or kill her, others involved, or simply bystanders. Lacking social etiquette and rules, she is free to run around and do as she pleases and Tsume won't stop her. Nothing can hold her back!
The most empowering and beloved item Kid owns is her skateboard. This is the key item to her life and she takes it everywhere. The feeling of freedom when she races down the streets is exhilarating, and the adrenaline rush of kick-flipping infront of some losers and hearing that resonating 'woooaahhh' is what she fills her day with. She's too small and young to ride anything with a real motor or serious power, but her board is close enough and where she lives it's part of the culture and so it's iconic to her character and lifestyle. She always has it and she loves showing it off. While she's small now, her board enables her to do so much more. The moment Tsume had her steal it, she's been inseparable from her addiction to boarding. It's a big part of her and she wouldn't be herself without it.
Edits and/or accessories:Basic body edits
Short, scruffy fur complimented by short hair and sharp cuts. A mohawk of box dreads slicked back into a ponytail held up by a bandanna with the rest of her hair shaved into striking designs along the sides of her head and down her neck.
Short hair and fur help with easy maintenance and don't hold her back when she's running about. Being aerodynamic and having little that can catch or get pulled is the main ideal behind her appearance.
Hair
Box braids wrapped back in a bandanna, bordered by a braid and partnered with shaved scalp.
This style keeps her hair out of her face and tucked away. It's pretty easy maintenance for day-to-day life, and Ianto came up with the cool hairstyle. She grew up in urban culture where mohawks and box dreads were part of the usual styles, so they both were incorporated in her own style. The short hair is nice and it means less for anyone to pull, less to snag, less to maintain, and she still looks killer.
Back of neck
A shaved design on the back of her neck where hair usually grows, artistically tamed into short, fuzzy patches. The less hair, the easier it is to cool down, but she didn't want to be bland or unoriginal.
She likes to feel strong and independent, and the artistic display on the back of her neck gives her a sense of empowerment through looking unique, while also not being too much.
Ears
Kid's ears are cropped like a doberman's. This adds into the intimidating look she's trying to pull off, and the large, upright ears help her to cool off, unlike flopped ears. She often decorates them with big, gaudy plugs, though anything too big and it has a threat of being pull out and she doesn't plan on ripping her ears anytime soon.
Tail
A 'fin' of long, spiky hair juts out just at the base of the tail, two distinct segments. A dominant 'fin', separated completely from the sub-dominant fin just below it, shorter and smaller. The remainder of the tail wrapped tightly, ending in a small tuft(smaller than usual).
The tail is part of her aerodynamic design, helping her to be more agile. The fin and lithe tail help her to maneuver in the air and keep her balance, along with minimal fur as to avoid any heavy maintenance. The wrap is there to protect her tail because it often gets tugged on or bit by whatever is chasing her.
Bandanna
The bandanna is used to keep everything in place, and sometimes as a head-band. It changes color and designs depending on what gang they're currently holing up with. Most of the time it's red paisley, but it depends on what she can get her hands on. Usually she steals it from someone else, so it's circumstantial. It helps keep hair and sweat out of her face on rather hectic days.
PlugsRotating from symbol to symbol, she often wears all sorts of ear plugs, tunnels, and gauges. She doesn't fully understand the history behind the 'Don't tread on me' symbol, but she knows it's a sign for telling people not to walk all over you, so she favors it. Because of where she's grown up, there are a lot of anarchists and people who feel oppressed by the government and law enforcement, so she wears a lot of anti-authoritarian propaganda.
Kid's tags
Dog tags Tsume stuck on Kid that jingle so he knows where she is. She eventually got rid of the original name, scratching it out, and putting hers after she was taught how to spell it. They have the US emblem on them, but no specific delegation regarding army, navy, marine, or anything. It's relatively unlabelled. They're a tad bit old and dingy.
Kid wears them mostly out of habit, but she does have some connection to them. She won't admit it, though.
GlovesThick, tough elbow-length gloves for skate-boarding around. They have elbow pads, knuckles, good grip, and no fingers.
These help when she's climbing over chain-link fences, or picking fights with other kids. They often change due to wear and tear, but they are always thick and usually following a harsh punk style. Their main point is to protect her hands, wrists, and arms when she falls off her skateboard.
Adoptive parents:
Tsume is the 'parent', but that title is merely that, a title. He's nothing like a parent, and is more of just a caretaker. He barely cares for her and lets her run wild and free without caring if she goes and breaks something or someone. Mostly apathetic to Kid's life and matters, he tends to come off as a dead-beat, though he's mainly just uncertain how to act as a parent or express his affections for others, Kid included, and it mostly comes out as being a jerk. His way of being familiar with another isn't far from how he acts around strangers, except for faint hints as to hidden motives, like being over-protective, getting upset over small matters, and occasionally doing things for them, though it won't benefit him, like giving her piggy-back rides when her legs are tired, or beating a guy up to take his jacket to give to Kid so she isn't cold. It's a strained relationship, and Kid doesn't call him 'dad'(to Tsume's preference), but it's still there. Tsume, whether he admits it or not, really does care about that little demon, and he's taught her a lot. Self defense, stealing to survive, and how to cheat at poker. He's made sure she can survive in his world and so she doesn't have to be afraid, just like he doesn't have to be afraid. Tsume will never be a real dad, but what they got... it's family, nonetheless.
