Which color(s) is she not able to see;; She only sees shades of gray.
How does she deal with her vision defect?;; She doesn't let it bother her (well... sort of - see below), because she knows that it doesn't make her inferior. In fact, she embraces her color-blindness and uses it as a unique filter for her imagination as art. She finds it really fascinating that what to her is shades of gray becomes a rainbow for others. Moreover, her color-blindness allows her to let go of the urge to capture reality in her paintings, which results in beautifully colored paintings.

Although, there is one other thing. She never shows it around others (at least not when they're looking), never tells them anything about it - it's her closest guarded secret and she's done a very good job hiding it. She loves the art she creates and the joy and wonder it brings to others, but sometimes she just wants - more than anything in the world - to see what makes it what it is. Sometimes is makes her incredibly sad, and she doesn't want others to worry about her. And so, she keeps it hidden.
Art;; I'd like to do at least two, but I don't think I have time... I hope one in enough to win her, because I think she has the potential to become a very deep character, if you know what I mean, and I'd love to be the person to make that happen. So, here it is: Link

Her name is Marcy, short for Marceline.

gender;;
Female

Which color(s) is she not able to see;;
Marcy is unable to see most colors, only various shades of gray, black, white, and blue.

Marcy wrote:Everything is beautiful even without color.

How does she deal with her vision defect?;;
Well, Marcy kinda ignores the fact that her colorblindness affects her. She thinks that everyone sees things the way she does, but Marcy does still keep in mind that it's there. Above all, due to her love of black-and-white movies and mystery shows, her mind operates like a detective's on a mission, always alert for the smallest clues. Sometimes she also acts and talks like a detective.

Marcy wrote:Basically, I see everything by its true colors, not what my eyes describe to me. I'm positive and I leave all bad things behind for a new and better day.

Hello!! I'm .:AmberLovesPrussia:., but feel free to call me Amber or ALP ^^

;;Name;;
I think I'll name this cute little bean Issa, it really seems to suit her perfectly in my opinion!

;;Gender;;
Female. <3

;;Which color(s) is she not able to see;;
Sadly, Issa cannot see any true colours at all!! But (there's always a but to everything), other Jelleybeans always appear in very dull versions of their actual colours, so that gives her a slight sense of what colour actually is, but it still isn't the same as the amazing privelage of actual sight.

;;How does she deal with her vision defect?;;
For Issa, getting by everyday with a vision defect isn't as hard for her as you may think, possibly not even difficult at all! Though she can't see real colour, she apparently thinks that it's the way anyone else would see, so for her, it's not really a problem.

Re: JBD #334 - Open ;; Fantasia Clarity Illumination

Midnight Dragon.
Name;;
Fantasia Clarity Illumination
The definition of a fantasia is "a musical composition with a free form and often an improvisatory style." I chose this name for her because, well, I love music, and her designs remind me of a treble clef, almost, and she looked like a individual who would improvise and do her own thing with a free spirit. Clarity means "the quality of being clear or intelligent," and I think that her bold, clear markings are very clear and stand out in front of her pale fur. Illumination I chose for her pendant. I imagined it lighting up a room with rainbows and illuminating it woth color. Therefore, I chose the name Fantasia Clarity Illumination.
Gender;;
Female
Well, this is obvious, I hope.
Which color is she not able to see;;
She is not able to see the color red. She cannot see orange, either. She cannot see yellow or green either. She is only able to see blue and purple, any shade of them. She can see the sky in midday and shades of the sunset. She can see the ocean and some of the fish inside. Everything else is grey, white, and black. It is unusual, but it is true.
She can see all shades of blue up to
this color, and all shades of purple up to this color. Past that, she sees grey, white and black.
How does she deal with her vision defect?;;
Fantasia deals with it through painting.
That might sound contradictory, as she cannot see most of the colors she paints with, but she has an adapt sense of shade and contrast. She can easily guess what color she is painting with by the shade of grey and simply dipping her brush in it. She can see a beauty in most things, even if it lacks a quality important to the rest of us. She doesn't get teased about her vision disorder, but she feels the stares of her fellows and they hurt her deeply, although she never shows it. Instead, why not just paint a picture of that individual and then throw it in the garbage? Much better stress relief than most things. She gets stressed out and hurt easily, and by painting a picture, she almost enters another world, another dimension, another reality where she can see all the colors of the rainbow.
Fantasia also has a very vivid imagination, and can actually imagine the colors she can't see. Not all of them are quite accurate, but she has a good idea of what red, green, pink, and brown look like. She has trouble with the muted colors, but since her imagination is like a reality to her, she can imagine the colors that she cannot see and therefore almost see them.
But generally, it doesn't bother her. She doesn't really miss the things she never had, including some of the colors. She lives her life, happy with the colors she has. Her punky attitude distracts her from it and her stubbornness keeps her from believing that she is missing something.

Painting to relieve stress. She seems pleased with the result.

Narv & Night

Name;;
Kamal
Gender;;
Female

Which color(s) is she not able to see;;
She has difficulty identifying purples and pinks the most, but she has trouble seeing red and red mixes. Kamal does admit that her vision is more vividly blue and green than other beans. She also has problems identifying some of the paler yellows and browns. (the yellows look white to her, while the browns look yellow. Odd huh?)

How does she deal with her vision defect?;;
She usually ignores it, in true Kamal style. If people ask her about it, she'll tell them, but if they don't ask, she'll never tell them that she's color blind. When helping Narv to color in his art, she'll memorize the color name and when he asks for that color of pencil or marker, she'll find it by name instead of by specific color. Sometimes when she's out and about with Narv, she'll trip on things or run into stuff. We both know that her color blindness makes her depth perception a bit funky but she'll never admit that aloud.
