Dα΄Κ 11: TΚα΄ Dα΄Ι’
What is a special talent that your kalon has, and how did they learn it?
[ FluffyBirdie |Kalon/s: Kayleigh | 528 words ]Spinning knives around her hands is not something Jay could consider a βspecial talentβ, but it was something to keep her hands still, something for her extra hands to fiddle with as she worked with her main hands. It had been fun to throw her knives around, juggling them with ease and amazing her family, especially her little siblings. It was something to distract enemies or sparring partners with, as the flashing blades eventually caught their eye and created an opening for the briefest second, one which she took full advantage of. There was one person she could not distract with her knives though, and that was the person who taught it to her.
The memory was bittersweet, for she had been overjoyed when her crush took the time to teach her this trick, but now, knowing he had only used her for his own means, the memory had soured.
βYouβre always this energetic?β Kaiden asked, half-straightening and gesturing to her hands. She glanced down, and only just noticed her other hands wearing holes into her shirt as she sparred. Being a person with four arms, she practiced with both wielding four blades and two, and without her notice, her empty hands had begun fidgeting with anything nearby. She shrugged one shoulder, embarrassed, and looked down, hoping he wouldnβt notice the blush on her cheeks.
βOh hey, sorry, I didnβt mean to be rude.β Jay quickly looked up, about to reassure him she didnβt take it that way, when light flashing off something spinning in his hand distracted her. She looked at it, mesmerised by the dazzling colours, and blinked in surprise when the spinning stopped to reveal the dagger he was using. When she looked at him again, he was grinning, and sure her dark face was a shade of burning red, she smiled weakly back, half cursing her weakness and half admiring how stunning he looked with such a confident expression.
βIβll teach you, if you want. Itβll keep those hands busy, and itβs quite useful in a fight.β He spun both daggers, throwing it around like it were mere sticks. βItβs also quite impressive.β He added, laughing when she gave a delayed reply, completely distracted by his elegance.
βI-Iβll love to!β She had replied eagerly, her mind more occupied on spending time with him than learning the trick, and now, spinning her knives idly and thinking back on the past, she wondered just how much of a plan that was. He must had known about her crush, but then again, she wasnβt exactly hiding it. How would things be if she had been too shy to accept his offer? Maybe he would have been the one kicked out, but that wasnβt likely. She knew many girls who had crushes on him, and she was sure that if she hadnβt accepted, he would have just targeted another helpless girl.
The light flashing off the blade distracted her once again, and firmly, she decided that it was her skill, not his. She would add on to it, until it was uniquely hers, without any trace of Kaiden and his stupidly beautiful face.
It was her special talent.
