How does your kalon feel about their Cruise breaking down?
Ell was sitting on the deck enjoying the sun when all of a sudden a big bang invaded her senses. Startled and puzzled, she jumped up and went to investigate. She was surprised to see everyone was calm and acted like nothing happened. Ell was asking around and no one knew what the bang was, no one was giving her the info she needed and she was getting annoyed. "ARGH! why won't anyone tell me what's going on?!" she thought aloud and paced back and forth. She decided she'd go to the captain and ask what was wrong. As she was on her way to his cabin she was stopped by a maid. "Excuse me ma'am but this is the captain's quarters only staff are allowed here." Ell nodded and walked away waiting for the maid to leave then sped past farther into the quarters. She was stopped by the cook of the ship. "Zis is ze captóns quarthers madame." he said with a french accent. Ell sighed and waited for the chef to leave and sped on. She was finally stopped by the assistant captain who asked "What is wrong my dear? is something awry?" she nodded and sighed deeply. "I heard a big bang and I was so surprised I had to see what it was and decided to investigate. I need to know what happened." the assistant captain looked surprised. "No one has been asking what is wrong yet, you're the first. I guess we can tell you then. follow me." he replied and set off at a brisk walk towards the captains quarters. Ell followed as fast as she could and almost ran into the assistant captain when he stopped abruptly. "Here we are." he said and opened the door. Inside was a handsome and rugged Kalon. "hello captain." said the assistant captain. "Assistant captain cole fadington reporting for business." he said and Ell was glad to finally hear his name. A gruff voice answered "What do you want Cole?" and cole sighed "Ell here wanted to know what the big bang was and I thought it would be best if you told her." The captain sighed and turned around fully and Ell gasped. "Dean?!" She exclaimed. It was dean her friend and cole was his Brother she had never met. She ran to hug him and he chuckled. "Hello ell, long time no see." he then turned around and sighed. "the big bang was the engine, we blew the fuel line and a rescue boat is coming in a few days. We thought she was fine and dandy then all of a sudden BANG! the fuel line went and we are devastated. and the rescue boat is on a mission so we're stuck here for a few days. we'll be 3 days late from Schedule and I am sorry ell." Ell was shocked. She had a big job interview in 2 days and out here at sea had no means of contacting the job Place to tell them she would be late because of boat troubles. Ell wanted to cry, she wanted to scream and throw a fit but she didn't she remained calm and said meekly "ok." and turned and left. She was on her way to her cabin and was thinking hard about what to do when she tripped. "and my day couldn't get any worse" she thought aloud. she sighed and opened her door. "what am I going to do?" she thought. she was dissapointed and devastated and also sad the ship had broken down. she sighed and laid down for a kal nap and drifted off to sleep.

Prompt 1 How does your kalon feel about their cruise breaking down?
featured or mentioned: Anthony (registered), Musashi, Calluna, Andre, Abel, Teddy, Tori ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────"Why don't we go on a cruise?"
Anthony suggested to his group of friends in the group-chat. He recently started hanging with a mysterious Japanese man who claimed to be hundreds of years old, and Anthony promised to use his magic to help send him back to his time period. Though the tattooed young man found it odd someone would want to live in a time period without penicillin and YouTube, a promise was a promise. But it's been a while with little progress, so Anthony figured he would help this strange man get to know his friend group. Why not a cruise?
"A cruise? Just us, with no chicks? Sus my guy" - Andre
"Well I'm sure there'll be girls there, but this is a bonding experience" Anthony texted back immediately.
"Don't you have a girlfriend?" he added.
"Not for me, but the general atmosphere yfm"
Musashi interjected; "What is a cruise???¿¿¿???"
"Of all the things we could do and you want us to be trapped together on a ship in the middle of the ocean? 💀💀" Abel sent back.
"I'm game : )" - Teddy
"It'll be fun, trust me, city boyz summer!"
And it was fun, briefly. The sky was clear and the whole ship seemed to be enjoying itself. Musashi stood on top of the railing at the side of the ship, gazing inexplicably as the world was laid out in-front of him. Though he was told to get down, no one was really willing to press the silent man further, so he was eventually left alone. Meanwhile Andre and his cousin Teddy were busy looking for drinks, and Abel stayed in their room, attempting to sleep.
Anthony had just gotten off the phone with his girlfriend, Tori, while he was on the front deck. "We'll be fine don't worry babe, what could go wrong anyway?.... I love you, I'll call you later." Not even 4 minutes later he heard a BOOM that sent reverberations throughout the entire ship, a rattle that he felt in his feet first and caused him to stumble over.
"We're sinking!" Someone screamed, and the ship erupted into chaos.
A hoard of people flooded back into the ships interior looking for the captain, some remained on the deck panicking, while others stood dazed in bewilderment. Musashi remained stoic at the top of the rail, visibly unperturbed by the ship's failing and his impending doom.
A voice rang throughout the ship warning the passengers to remain calm and to evacuate their suite's just in-case. Anthony and a few others took it upon themselves to help make sure everyone was up and out. One girl in particular seemed content to remain in bed whether the ship sunk or not.
"Listen I feel you, but drowning is like the worst way to die. And your friend seems like she'll need you around."
After successfully dragging the exhausted girl out of bed, Anthony grouped with the rest of his friends at the main deck. The ship had calmed down at the revelation there was an island ahead the ship would make it to, and Anthony's heart sank. Island? Who knows how long we'll be here, Tori is gonna be worried like hell. Wait, I'll just use magic to get myself out...Which I could do If I brought my wand, I can't teleport without a wand...god-damnit. The young adult's head fell in his hands, meanwhile his friends seemed eager at this prospect for adventure.
Anthony thought back to when he was a little bit younger, and how he might've been thrilled at the thought of being stranded on a island with nothing to do but explore and sight-see. Maybe the ship repair wouldn't take long, and he and his friends could still have fun. The island seemed nice enough, why not? ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────

❀Prompt One:The Breakdown.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
▹ username: Meduz
▹ kalon: Tris
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬When the engine first started to judder and splutter Tris was in the bar of the cruise ship responding to a few customer emails about her last piece of work. It was an advertisement flyer for a wedding fair in a nearby city. Hardly the stuff of a novellist's dreams but it paid the bills. Tris knew she wasn't supposed to be working and she'd deliberately come on the cruise so that she could find some inspiration and get back to writing her fantasy novel. It took the loud, slightly scratchy static of the ship's intercom to drag her away from her emails.
"Attention please, this is your captain speaking."
Over the intercom the captain's voice sounds feeble and shaky. Tris closes the lid of her laptop and looks out of the window. A curl of black smoke is visible from where she is sat, she wonders if it has anything to do with the captain's announcement.
"Unfortunately, our engines are experiencing some trouble right now. Luckily, there's an island just ahead so we should be able to stay there whilst we get the ship up and running again."
Tris had to hold back a laugh. Of course the budget cruise ship had broken down after just two days! Tris got up and walked over to the window, she could see a small island not far off. It looked beautiful. A rustic wooden pier, a long white sand beach and a green forested area.
I suppose their are worse places to be shipwrecked.
The ship crawled slowly towards the pier, and the captain asked everyone to carefully make their way to the lower deck so they could disembark. Tris headed back to her cabin to drop off her laptop and collect her notebook and pen. She hoped she'd meet some interesting people who could inspire characters in her novel and spending some time away from work couldn't be a bad thing. She put on her sunhat and followed the other stragglers off the ship.
Tris slipped off her flip-flops and curled her toes in the sun-baked sand.
This is incredible.
Around her the other cruise-goers were reacting to the change in itinerary. Some were quite nonchalantly continuing to sip whatever drink they'd brought down from the bar, others were visibly stressed covering themselves in mosquito cream and angrily shouting at the cruise staff. Most were just appreciating the chance to be on solid ground and away from the nauseating sway of a slightly, rickety cruise ship.
Tris looked back towards the ship, the captain was arguing with a tough looking kalon. It didn't look like they were going to make a start on the repairs anytime soon.
I might as well take a look around.

"How does your kalon feel about their cruise breaking down?"
To be honest, Pip didn't... even know that the cruise had broken down. He was asleep! Even after someone told him, he was pretty nonchalant about it for a bit. (In reality, he was just really tired due to jetlag and hadn't understood what was going on... but oh boy, once he woke up, he
freaked. out.)
"Sir... Sir please, you have to wake up!" One of the Kruise workers shook Pip awake.
"Huh,,, wha?"
"Sir, you have to leave the ship. Something malfunctioned and- ...sir, are you even listening?" The Kalon asked, exasperated.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, yeah! Ship malfunctioned, gotta leave, got it." Pip stretched, yawning. "Wait, what?" His head whipped around, staring at the worker. "The ship broke down?! Is everything alright, will everyone be fine?!" Pip started to freak out, checking himself for any injuries.
"Sir, please-- calm down-- sir, stop running around everything is fine-- SIR!" Pip froze, looking over to the worker. "Sir, it was just a malfunction, everyone is fine. We've arrived at an island, and we will be staying here until we have someone look at the ship. It... shouldn't take too long, so please, enjoy the island while we're here."
"Ah, okay... I suppose that's nice! It's just a... a detour to an island, where we get to have an even better vacation!" Pip rationalized. He stood up to leave, before something caught his eye. "Wait a minute... IS THAT SMOKE?!"

Prompt: How does your kalon feel about their cruise breaking down?
Pip had thought it would add a nice touch (and photos) to their vacation. You can't have sunshine without a little rain, and the rain was the ship breaking down. They grabbed their camera and took pictures of themselves, others, and the area in general so they could show their family back home. Amongst the chaos and high tension atmosphere of the other cruise goers, Pip was wandering around and acting as if this was normal. They had a fast paced home life so this was almost nothing new to them.
Unfortunately, Pip was in line getting food to eat at the time of the accident so they've been rather hungry for the past hour or so while trying to find a place to eat. It was also
hot, as any port (planned or otherwise) would be on a cruise, but it was not mixing well with their hunger pangs.
Pip also silently cursed fate and the crew (even if they had no part in the breaking down; Pip just needed someone to blame for their anger) for making them struggle with this day. It was supposed to be a relaxing day, but it wasn't now. At least they got some sweet pics!

prompt 01: how does your kalon feel about their cruise breaking down?
last year, it was, “you always wanted to go to summer camp as a kid!”
“i’m twenty two?”
and then they went anyway.
this year, it was, “you need a vacation!”
“i don’t even have a job to need vacationing from.”
and again, they went anyway.
ruka was fairly certain their brother was honest to god just sending them off to be
out of the way for awhile. and that was fine— sure, home was great, and they had
friends at home, and you didn’t run the risk of drowning at home—
good lord, did you not have to worry about actually drowning at home, in the city,
in the concrete and land locked and well drained city.
but of course, the vacation was a cruise ship, and real cheap, because they were
always short on expenses. and so when the boat really goes and busts right in the
middle of the ocean, well. it sure would explain the price.
now, obviously, ruka had no fear of death. what they did fear, however, was dying in
any way that wasn’t on their preapproved lists of deaths. and drowning. well now,
drowning was not on that list. if they died to water of all things, just a lifeless
substance doing it’s watery thing, that would have been real disappointing. and, for
that matter, they weren’t much into suffocating. if they were going to black out,
water isn’t the liquid they’d use to do so.
anyway, bing bang whatever, the ship made it to shore—
thank whatever gods there may be.
they land on an island, and it feels kind of like camp again. only more sand, a less
energetic group, and a feeling like some. . . smoke monster might emerge from the
distant forest.
surely not an outdated reference.
the ship was great. decent food, slot machines they definitely didn’t have the funds
for, an entire sea to stare out at for six hours straight after chugging a gallon of
powerade in the fear of whatever they just heard in the hall. yea. it was pretty fun.
but being confined to a ship was chaotic for someone who sprinted across the entire
thing on every level in a day. so, while having been on a sinking ship was. a wild
experience. maybe it was really a lucky break, because oh boy, this island—
surely it’d take at least two days to sprint across.
