username || scarlet_wolfɢɪᴅᴇᴏɴ ʙʟᴀᴋᴇpersonality.♠ gideon has a very short temper. he tends to snap at people easily, especially if they are being unfair
or cruel towards another kalon. perhaps this is why he became war and not, y'know, peace. he has a tendency to
take over situations, sometimes seeming a bit pushy at times. though he has good ideas on occasion, most of them
are dangerous and he doesn't think them through at all, usually ending up either in trouble or in danger. gideon
gives advice sometimes that sounds more like him being rude - 'you should change this' and 'you should do that' are
things that he says with good intentions, but he comes off as rude and as if he has high expectations, when, in
reality, he just wants the people around him to do and be their best.
as a soldier, gideon was trained to follow rules, but, alas, this training doesn't always follow through. he seems to
forget rules sometimes, ignoring 'no trespassing' signs and speed limits. this results in many run-ins with the law,
which gideon usually talks himself out of -
"i'm in the army!"
"sir, technically, you're not in the army yet, you're in training - "
"but still!"
after he wakes up, gideon becomes a bit more stoic than usual. he is more calm and calculating. though he still
rushes into danger, he thinks about the consequences and fully accepts them, even as he is doing whatever it is
he's doing. ♠[ 241 words. ]
♠ where am i from? ah, yes. before i became war. i was from a world like yours, in training to become a soldier. i
wanted to fight for my country, but never graduated my class.
during a parachute drill, my gear tangled. i fell, watching the ground grow closer, frantically trying to untangle the mess of
cloth. finally, finally i got it untangled, but i was too close to the ground. i remember things. people, mainly my mother,
crying, and pressure in my chest. i think they were trying to restart my heart, but everything went black.
i can recall dying. it's odd, being able to remember your own death. i have nightmares about it sometimes.
where am i now? i wake up somewhere unfamiliar. the world around me is charred. small flames flickering in the treetops.
despite the dry ground and the crackle of flames, the air is not hot. it is warm, but not uncomfortable. i wonder if this is hell.
if so, it's actually not as bad as i would've expected. i sit up, and dizziness overcomes me. i pause in my rush, allowing my head
to stop spinning before i sway to my feet. my injuries are gone - i've no idea how long i've been sleeping. my eyes are gritty and
my mouth tastes metallic.
momentarily, i think that i'm alone, but then i hear a snort from behind. i turn slowly, wary of what i may find - i was right to
worry. a huge steed stands there, flames licking at his pelt. from underneath the fire, i believe that he's solid black, but it's
hard to tell. the horse's ears are angled forward as he snorts again, stepping closer.
now, i'm no wuss. i was training to become a soldier and had to be brave. but a massive flaming horse approaching you in a
strange environment? try it. tell me how you react.
i scramble back, and i can hear my pulse pounding. the equine pauses, cocking his head like he, too, can hear it and
wonders why i'm so fearful. i stumble to my feet - if i'm going to be attacked by a horse, i'd much rather face him head
on, rather than be trampled by hooves the size of dinner plates. vaguely, i wonder how he's not, y'know, burning to death,
but that's not my priority at the moment. he continues to approach me, his nostrils flared. "okay, buddy, don't do anything
rash." i feel foolish, speaking aloud to an animal. the horse stops again, his ears swiveling to and fro. "alright, everything's
alright." with a small whine, the flaming equine trots over to me before i can react.
"oh, god," i hiss, leaning away and averting my gaze. "that's - that's fine. this is fine." the horse whinnies again, pressing his nose
against my shirt. i exhale softly, my eyes widening. i turn my head towards him slowly, and blink, surprised. the fire that consumes
his face doesn't hurt me when we make contact. he lifts his head and blinks back at me. "okay, yeah, you're good. just stayyyyy
calm." i raise a hand, pressing my fingertips to his forehead, marveling at the fact that my hand is not bitten off or burning. "there
we go. good horse." the horse snorts, bobbing his head in what seems to be agreement. i seem to have made a friend.
it's been months since i died. the horse, who i call riot, still seems to be content. in this place, i have discovered what seems like
a palace. there aren't people, but food and water are replenished thrice a day. there's a thin clasp around my wrist, made of shiny
black metal, which is pretty odd. i've also found that, with riot, i can go back home. if i mount him, a large ring of fire forms
before us, and through it, we appear back in my world. i seem to be invisible, but my presence creates anger and fights break out
very often. on one of these visits, i'm approached by a girl. i am, of course, perplexed. to everyone else, i'm nonexistent, but this
girl speaks to me like it's completely normal: "hello, war." ♠xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx[ 700 words. 400 + 300 extra. ]┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛

I thought of Angels Choking on their Halos
___Username ||
Arganine
Name ||
Kraviel / Kravitz
(Changed her name because she no longer wants to be reminded of her angelic roots)
Personality ||
Before her fall, Kraviel was the spunky angel. She was indeed an odd-ball and was full of life and joy. She seemed to light up everyone around her and became the favorite among her brothers and sisters.
After the fall, Kravitz experienced "human" emotions such as hunger, humility and pain. She embraced these new senses and changed almost drastically. Contrasting her once innocent and air-headed personality, Kravitz became a fiesty, narrow-minded, and blunt being. She has no trouble speaking her mind and "telling it like it is." She has matured into an independent Kalon after understanding mortals on their own level.
Despite such a large change, Kravitz carries some of her old characteristics. She speaks in a oddly formal manner and is almost always certain in her words. Honesty has always stuck with Kravitz and will remain there because of her strong belief in justice and confidence. She remains extremely loyal to her new found friends and family.
Although she has such a burning loyalty to her new found bonds, Kravitz remains reluctant in trusting new people. She has a habit of distancing herself to strangers as she gauges their trustworthiness. Kravitz also seems to have a questioning mind against the heavens and her creators due to them abandoning her without a purpose- or so it seems.

Where are they from? Where are they now, and how do they react? ||
Believe it or not, Kravitz was once heaven's strongest and oldest angels. She was known as "the Gatekeeper," by mortal Kalons through spiritual lore and tradition. Through this, Kraviel's job was to allow worthy spirits into paradise depending on their life on Earth. She also kept out unwanted forces through fierce battle.
All was well until she encountered a particular spirit she immediately gravitated towards. Whether it was considered a soul-mate or another strong bond, Kraviel knew that she needed to protect this one at all costs. It brought a sense of Hiraeth and warmth which immediately imprinted on her. Unfortunately, the said soul was destined for purgatory. For the first time, Kraviel expressed greed and aimed to fight for the soul to remain in paradise, unable to see it be harmed. She first tried begging with the higher forces, then bargaining, and when all else failed, Kraviel broke regulation and smuggled the spirit into paradise. Never before did the gods see such desperation in their strongest soldier. She angered them in her actions to say the least and within a blink of an eye, she had fallen.
Her wings burned to ash, shooting a searing pain along her back. Powers within her were instantly stripped away and she was left in a mortal shell.
As she dropped from the sky, the overwhelming thoughts and new emotions lulled her into a deep slumber.
When she woke, Kraviel remembered only bits and pieces of her past. She remembered well of being an angelic force and what her occupation had been, but had no recollection of her reason for falling. Due to only being left with fragments, Kraviel went through a stage of delusion for the first few years with a sense of betrayal. She was confused as to why heaven had thrown her out. She was also struggling to adjust to mortal emotions and phenomena such as hunger and sorrow or modern-day slang and technology. She became so overwhelmed and frustrated that she would curse the heavens every night for her predicament and pray for an answer. However, she never got one. Instead, Kraviel took matters into her own hands and decided to "play their game" by creating her own meaning for her new life and trying to adjust accordingly.

Adjusting to her new life (continued) | Extra One||
It has taken 5 years after Kravitz's fall for her to realize that she may never receive a true answer from the heavens. At this point in time, Kravitz has had time to understand modern technology and modern-day American jargon (since Idaho is where she had fallen). Despite her awkwardly-formal way of speaking, she has made friends at a bakery she's been working for. In fact, Kravitx feels a strong urge to protect mortals and be their guardian, even though she is now one of them.
On a cold September night, Kravitz was on her way home from work and heard a scream in an alleyway. Her confidence when she was once a warrior returned and she sprung into action immediately. She noticed the victim instantly before peering to the side to find a shadow-like figure. A monstrosity hadn't been seen by her since her days in heaven and she was prepared to fight. Despite her courageousness, she had no clue on how to vanish such a being without heaven's weapons.
Before she was down on her knees, another figure swooped in with a strange dagger. They killed the demon with ease, leaving Kravitz to watch in complete awe. This was the day she found out about monster-hunting and decided to swear herself to this life in order to protect all creatures on Earth. She was mentored by a famous hunter and honed her skills immensely, becoming well-known among the hunting community.
Kravitz keeps her true identity strictly anonymous to other hunters and also keeps her demon-slaying lifestyle a secret from her bakery co-workers. The burden of bearing so many secrets and conflicting emotions seem to weigh her down, but she hopes one day to speak with her creator once more and find out more about her past.

Name || Infernus
Personality ||

Stoic would be the world's greatest understatement. Infernus is a bizarre sort of composed, almost serene-- he rarely ever emotes strongly and everything about him is a watered-down subtle. He speaks with a level tone and gives only small smiles or frowns-- in all he does, it seems his peace of mind outweighs the normal places where people would be over-the-top or overly outgoing. This is not to say he isn't bold-- Infernus is a warrior at heart, and a fearsome one at that. He doesn't take well to challengers and he won't back away if he's tested. He's experienced with many forms of combat from swordplay to melee and he isn't afraid to show people the extent of his physical capabilities. He's a man who towers over most others and with his bold stature, he seems rather imposing to those who don't know he's a peaceful man.
Infernus, despite what one may thing, loves the water. He meditates often and finds serenity in pools of aqua blues. He enjoys a good swim and he does so often to maintain his health. He takes afternoon swims in the way most people take walks, and he has a nice koi pool in his own backyard. He feels at peace with flowing streams and babbling brooks. Infernus also has a good relationship with nature-- finding his central peace outside. He's exceptionally resourceful as a survivalist and he isn't too particularly used to modern society-- his preference lies in what he knows.

Where are they from? Where are they now, and how do they react? ||
The days were longer there. Perhaps it was because the sun only shone through a hole in the open room's roof, but the days seemed to sparkle there-- shimmering along the surface of the water beneath the opening to dazzle all who beheld it. The castle was old and weathered, but still beautiful. The loneliness that had overtaken it after the king had died was extreme and the castle had fallen to a state of disrepair-- dust blanketed everything and the colors had died out, fading away as time passed. I spent many days wandering its halls. I'd find myself at the balcony after swaying through every open room or hall-- the stone fixture overlooked a large forest beneath. It was built into the mountain, you see, and once there was a village there-- but as time passed it became overgrown. The only reason the castle hadn't been completely swallowed by nature and reclaimed was due to size. Ivy lapped at the walls and flowers had began to bloom throughout the place as vines encroached on the relic of an ancient kingdom.
I didn't really have a purpose here, but a lot of questions, so to say. I never knew anyone here, I simply found the castle as it was-- and I find the mystery to be more enthralling than what the truth may be. Left with only speculation, there's really no way to know for sure. I stray far and wide-- or at least, I did before I set up there. It is and was one of the greatest locations I ever found since leaving the cave.
My eyes opened slowly.
The world around me was... blue. I found myself underneath the water of a crystalline blue pool-- surrounded entirely by the water. I gazed up through the perfect surface to see cave walls with crystal protrusions, the gems seemed to glow in the dullness of the cave, but from beneath the surface it all seemed coated in a gentle light. I swam upwards, breaking the distance between myself and the surface-- and I examined my new surroundings.
This was not my home, then... I had never had one. I wondered about the castle-- and my new location, relative to that. Perhaps if I had dove back into the pool and swam, I would've come out the other side... but today is a new day, and a new adventure.

"More details, you say? About my old home?" The aged man sweeps back his hair away from his silver eyes. "I suppose I could oblige, but what more could you care to know? It is... a rather simple thing, I do believe."
You inquire about the technology of the time-- what era was it then?
He seems to think for a moment, his eyes a bit hazy as he brings himself back to a time rather long ago. "It was as things are here, in a way. It's as if I fell asleep in this world and woke up... somewhere else. There are no notable differences between the era and technology from then to now-- though I said I lived in a castle." He chuckled to himself, "I was a traveler, you see. I explored old ruins and the like, finding artifacts and bringing them back."
If that's the case, you say, why did he stay at the castle so long?
"I was simply... enraptured by it." He admitted with a small smile, "It was as if the building itself called out to me. It begged for further exploring and it beckoned me in, so I stayed and obliged."

Alexei
Personality [150-250 words] ||
Alexei was rather reserved, he preferred to keep to himself. He loved to witness heated conversations, but he'd much rather watch and make no comments. His closest peers were often conflicted on their opinions on him. Being deemed almost an outcast never seem to bother Alexei much; he did, however, mind that others were seemingly intimidated because of his stature. Being as tall and stoic as he was he tended to startle the neighborhood children when he emerged from his apartment. But that was in the past, and today's Alexei is far more spiteful, having grown a fire deep within him. From mild-mannered giant to furious Titan, a shift in location and time has crafted a beast. Fate has been all knowing in sculpting the perfect example of unforgiving rage in a once serene host. The modern day Alex has a sharp tongue and a wit to cut any and all challengers to pieces. His more than oppressive god complex suffocates not only himself but those around him.
