Floc #: 123
Floc Name: Abaia ( Abaia is a huge, magical eel in Melanesian mythology, thought it would be fitting )
Impress me:
A fisherman stood by the ropes connect to the net. counting " 1, 2, 3" and so on. The wind was raging, boat rocking and waves wanting to drown the lone fisherman.
He held on tight to the railing, his knuckles turning white as he prayed he caught a good hull of fish...and that the ship did not capsize.
He finally counted up to '20' before he grasped a handle connect to the mechanism that shall bring the net out of the raging waters. He struggled to push the handle in a circular motion, his muscles bulging from strain.
Eventually the net cleared the water as the fisherman grabbed a different lever, this one spinning the net round so it was hanging over the small boat.
The fisherman grabbed a lantern and swung it up to the net to look at the net's contents. He let out a gasp as the first thing he saw was a large fish tail. It was dark and had odd orange markings which he instantly thought looked like fish.
The man lifted a lever on the mechanism to drop the net and allow all the fish to fall onto the decking. He trudged through the squirming mass to where he could see a orange and black tail. He shoved the lantern near it, but got a fright of his life.
" A fox! " the man cried, eyes wild in surprise. " A fox fish! I shall make the papers! I-I shall show god still creates new life! " he stuttered out, breathing becoming heavy from surprise and slight fear of the strange creatures.
He watched it raise it's self using the paws on the front of it and stare at him with large eyes.
" A fox fish... " he muttered again.
Later the man had taken this new creature home and did much research at libraries and the internet, seeing if anything liked it exist. He had discovered the fish held onto a key and refused to give it to the man. After much debate and research, he thought best to keep his new pet secret ( due to him going on to many websites saying the government cuts things up ) and called is Abaia, after the mythical eel who loved fish...
( Sorry if to late! )
