He's green and blue. This bean.
I must try for him.
But I'm on my sister's iPod now, so I'll wait until I can get to the computer to do a form.

short story under 800 words:
Rio was and still is always interested in everything and loves to learn anything he can. He Inspects everything from plants to animals, foods and mainly poisonous hazardous things. He once ate a poisonous berry >~< thats when that all started. it was very scary to be honest. we were walking through my grandpas property. He has about 50 acres to explore. it was about 80 to 90 degrees out, insanely hot for him and myself. but we were still having a good time, finding new interesting things and grabbing them up and putting them in bags, plants of all sorts! Flowers, leafs, sticks, and sometimes we would see an animal footprint or two and snap a picture! Rio motioned to me that he was hungry, and we had brought no food with us, thinking we could just walk back to grandpas house when we got hungry and eat there. He didnt want to stop searching the never ending woods though, so I told him that we would stay out until he was hungry enough to go back. He secretly ate some berries to withstand a little more time to find all the new things he had never seen before, but when i was walking and heard a light gowl, and plop to the ground i flipped around in terror, not knowing what to expect. I knew something was wrong but at the time i had no idea that he had snuck the berries off of the bush and into his mouth....I picked his little body up and ran him home, luckly we got him aid in time...I thought i almost lost my baby that day <3 Hes so precious to me...I'm glad he actually puts some thought into what hes eating instead of just gulping away at whatever looks bright and juicy now. Hes grown more and more intelligent over this time! It was a horrible experience, but it sure did inspire him to think things deeply and also learn and compare one bad thing to something new, and just think it through!

Or just do the same thing with fruits.

short story under 800 words:
People are always asking me what I want to do when I get older. It's not what I want to do later, it's what I want to do now. What I want to do is explore. I know my legs aren't strong enough to carry me to the edge of the world, but a dragon can try, can't he? So I've made a vow to myself, that I'll go as far as I can, for as long as I can.

My parents weren't very happy with my decision, but I didn't really listen. This is my dream, they can't just take it away from me now! That just isn't fair. So I said my farewells to them before I left, with my knapsack snug on my shoulders. I gave them a wave and rushed out the door, eyes growing wide as I seen the green grass, and huge trees laying just beyond the door.

I'm hoping to see everything. The rolling hills, the mysterious jungles, and even the killer fish! I want to see it all! There's just so much, I wonder if I'll be able to go that far . . . No, I have to be optimistic, of course I'll make it! I'm a Jelly Bean Dragon, I'm big and strong!

The days go on, and I'm amazed by every second, every footstep on the dew covered ground. I've encountered a couple friends, and we all promised to see each other again soon. I've decided to keep a journal with all my day's activities, so when I come home, my parents will see how good I've done on my own. I can't wait to see their faces when they read it all! They'll be so proud!

Caribbean
short story under 800 words:
As Caribbean sat in his little sea-boat, waves rocking the lamely built wooden structure, he thought he saw a fin peak out of the water. Only slightly scared, the little Jellybean dragon puffed out his chest and stared at the water, not daring to stand up, because he knew that if he did the little boat would topple over and plunge him into the roaring ocean. He was on his way to an island that was rumored to be full of treasure, if you knew where to look.
As it so happened, he did know where to look. He had found a treasure map in his grandfather’s attic and couldn’t wait to go on a search for the island. Planning very carefully for years, Caribbean was finally brave enough to seek out the adventure he had only dreamed about… Of course there was the matter of his age, but that didn’t really seem to bother Caribbean much, he knew how to be a proper explorer, for had he not gone exploring in the woods and only turned back when he had strayed too far into the forest where the bad creatures lived.
Shaking away the old memories, Caribbean looked once more at the map, then brought out his telescope and smiled when, in the distance, he saw the island. It had taken him most the day to find it, and he was running out of his favorite, exotic fruits he had brought as snacks. That did not matter to the little ‘bean, treasure was soon to be found and all his worries would be over!
Docking on the sandy beach of the island, his boat almost breaking in two as he accidently navigated it into a rock; he hopped out of the boat and smiled. Oh well if he wouldn’t be able to get back with the same boat, he’d just build another! His attention was turned to the beauty of the island with its palm trees and beautiful, colourful flowers he had never seen before. Sighing in contentment, he pulled on his little backpack, grabbed his telescope in his mouth, and carefully placed the map, with a final glance at it, into his pack.
Trotting off, Caribbean followed the steps exactly as he was supposed to, sand getting in his fur and between his toes. He didn’t care, however, for directly in front of him was the largest palm tree he had ever seen… Its wood was dark, its leaves the brightest green he had ever seen. Brown, hairy coconuts littered the ground, and parrots cawed at the top of their lungs with his approach.
This had to be where the treasure was hidden, he was sure of it. Sniffing around the base, the little ‘bean smirked when there was a false piece of wood clinging to the tree. Ripping it off with his paws, he stumbled backwards as it suddenly gave way. Sitting up and shaking sand out of his fur, Caribbean’s crystal blue eyes lit up. There inside the hollowed tree was a bunch of toys and fruits, the best kind of treasure imaginable.
Packing up as much as he could, Caribbean was making his way back to his boat when suddenly a voice rang out, even though it seemed no one was around. “Caribbean, time for lunch!” came Ardra’s melodic voice, cutting through the little ‘beans vision of a sandy beach filled with palm trees, and a raging ocean whose waves crashed onto the sand, leaving behind tiny, pretty shells. Caribbean smiled, picked up his brown paper roll off of the yellow pool raft and began swimming to the steps of the large pool. After he had shaken himself dry, he looked back once more at the large, green backyard and the pool right in its center where his yellow raft still floated and smiled, knowing that today’s adventure had been fun, even if it had all been in his head.

Yawning, Caribbean bounced towards the large house, thoughts of the today's adventure and how exciting it had been fleeing from his mind and being replaced by hungry thoughts of fruits that would be for lunch today. It had been a good adventure indeed.
five words to describe him:
Adventurous, Optimistic, Exuberant, Reliable, Imaginative

short story under 800 words:

Avocado is the name. But, hey, do you like adventures? I do love adventures myself, that's why my friends say i'm super adventurous! Just to roam through that land that no man has, with a whole purpose to it, makes me feel like a real dragon, a real explorer. It makes me feel like I am really talented and that all those things people say about me, are just coming from jealousy, from true vain. It makes me feel so pure to adventure. So, right now my friend is going to tell you a story just to let you get a look on my side of fun! But, this was not an ordinary journey, it was the best journey and dragon could have, it was the journey of meeting a new friend!

Narrator's side:
Avocado was just in the middle of town, when he got a request to go to the Amazon and get some of the medicine that is very vital to save his mother's life. So, Avocado grabbed his bag, a map, lots of water to keep him hydrated, food, and his lucky jewel bracelet that would glimmer for hours whenever the sun dropped beams of light on it. Now, Avocado was just starting to set out as soon as he had packed his bag for this harsh journey, not knowing what would come along throughout it.

Suddenly, Avocado was hearing this voice out of the trees "You betta' get outta' here kid! This is no man's path, especially no kiddo's path! So you best skidaddle!" As soon as Avocado heard him he tried running, while looking back to be safe, Avocado didn't notice there was a big tree flat foot in-front of his face! "BAM!" Avocado's face was literally smashed looking like a pancake on a tree. "Ouchie!" Avocado shrieked, rubbing his face while he was wincing as the splintering cut on his fur burned as the wind hit it. Avocado got up right away, a bird landing firmly on his shoulder, "Aye Bud" the bird whistled. "Hey, you, you're the, you're the person who was in the trees talking about 'no man's path'! I mean, bird not person!" Avocado yelled and then he thought how dumb he seemed to be afraid of a little dark green bird. "Yep, sure was me!" The little bird chuckled a soft whistle-like laugh. "Well, you gonna get off my shoulder now?" Avocado made a curious look at him like he was a puzzle that he couldn't figure out. "Oh, nope, I'm your guide buddy, sent from your town! I'm supposed to help you, erh somthin' like dat." The bird kept put and made a small grin at Avocado. "So, what's your name?" Avocado peered at the little bird wondering more things to ask. "Sorry, I believe I forgot to introduce myself to you." The bird got it's wing and put it on its belly, bowing at Avocado's appearing. "My name is, Wombly, I will humbly be to your service and guidance. Nice to meet you, sir." Avocado stared at Wombly, "No need for the big show. I'm Avocado, looking forward to be a great friend to you. Looking for a bit of fun on this journey?" Avocado asked. "Yeah, fun sounds great. But maybe you should first remove those leaves from your shoulders so I could sit, please?" Wombly gazed longingly. "Oh, if you ever feel uncomfortable, just hop in my bag for more comfort." Avocado smiled at the sight of a new friend.

So, the two had set off, after long hours of traveling and a few of sleep, they had reached the Amazon. Avocado and Wombly had both been grazing the Amazon for hours, until they stopped at a small shop, so they walked inside. It appeared nobody was there, until a magical dust cloud appeared, along with a Red Panda. This Red Panda was dressed up as if she was some kind of wizard, she was standing slanted on a desk, blowing a wand. "Hey, welcome to blah, blah, ok lets get to the 'how may I help you today'?" the Red Panda's ears perked half way. "Hey I'm Avocado, this is Wombly. We're looking for the treatment to 'all sicknesses' ordered by Mrs. Lowell. Do you have it yet?" Avocado leaned over waving kindly at the small creature. "Yep, let me go get it." the Red Panda dropped her arms down, and scrambled to a closet. She was throwing lots of stuff around until she found a small glass. "Do not lose this. Or ELSE!" The Red Panda made a scary face when she stated this. So Avocado agreed not to lose the bottle, and the two set off.

When Avocado and Wombly reached the town, everyone cheered. Avocado handed the bottle to his mother when he got home. She let a deep smile beam through the seams of her face as she hugged Avocado tightly, "I love you my dear." Avocado's mother was in poor condition. So, she gulped the small bottle down slowly, but it was the fastest she could go. As Avocado's mother finished she was already starting to feel a whole lot better. She hugged Wombly as he came in, "Thank You. Gracias pajarito, muchas gracias." Avocado's mom was greatly showing her gratitude. "Usted es bienvenido, mam. Estoy contento de ayudar y hacer un seguro de estancias vivo." Wombly smiled deeply. "One completes an adventure well, but two friends complete it correctly. Friends can complete your path when you need them." Avacado's mother took a deep gaze at Wombly and Avocado.

Toboe

The Bedtime Story
(Creative title, I know. x3)

Tell me a bedtime story,” Toboe pleaded. “Alright, my little bird,” Michelle laughed quietly.

Once, there was a little bird, just like you. He was black, but covered with bright green and had a little blue head.” “Wait, wait – how do you know what colors he was?” “Because Nyx told me. Now hush, and listen. This little bird was smaller than the others, and they always drove him away from the yummy nuts and bugs, so he was very hungry. One morning, he woke up and when he did, he heard a sound. It was almost like the sound the bugs made when they crawled around under the leaves on the ground. But the little bird couldn't tell where the noise was coming from. So he went back to sleep.

Where was the sound coming from?” Toboe asked. “You'll never find out if you don't listen!” Michelle said. “You have to be quiet and listen, like the bird.” Toboe opened his mouth, then snapped it closed and nodded instead.

The next morning the little bird heard the noise again. He still couldn't tell where it was coming from, because the sound was coming from all around him. Then he had an idea. He flew out of his little hole in the tree, and the sound was gone. He flew back in, and he could hear it again. The sound was coming in the tree! He put his little head up to the wood and listened. It was bugs crawling all around in the bark. He could hear all their little legs, squirming around under there. Just. Like. Me!” Michelle leaned forward and tickled Toboe's stomach, making him scream with laughter. Michelle laughed and continued her attack for another second, then stopped. “And the little bird was angry at the bugs. Do you know why?” “Because they tickled him?” Toboe asked curiously. “No, because they were hiding from him, and he was hungry! So the little bird flew out and sat on a branch, and tapped on the bark with his beak. But the bark didn't move. So he scratched on the bark with his claws, but the bark didn't move. Then he saw a hole in the bark, so he grabbed the edge in his beak and leaned back, and flapped his wings! But...” “The bark didn't move!” Toboe finished. “That's right. The bark didn't move. So the little bird stopped, and he thought. Maybe he wasn't strong enough to move the bark. He wasn't strong enough to make the big birds leave him alone, after all. So the little bird tried something else. He poked his beak into the hole and reached around. But he couldn't reach the bugs.

So, sad and hungry, the bird went back into his hole and went to sleep again. And the next morning, he flew out to sit on the branch. The bugs were still there, and he was still hungry. But he wasn't strong enough to move the bark, and his beak wasn't long enough to reach the bugs. Suddenly the little bird had an idea. If he couldn't get the bugs, maybe something else could. Then little bird hopped on down the branch – hop, hop, hop – and broke off a twig. The he hopped back – hop, hop, hop – with the twig in his beak. He reached into the whole with the twig and moved it around, and when he pulled it out there were juicy little bugs crawling all over it! He ate them one by one, then got some more, and ate and ate until he was full. And the little bird lived happily ever after.

Toboe stared at the wall thoughtfully. “So... the little bird could do it because he tried something new?” he asked after a while. “Yes, and because he didn't give up. Never stop following your dreams, little bird, and you will make it.” “Promise?” Toboe asked. “Promise,” Michelle replied. Toboe smiled as he curled up under his blankets.

Good night, sis.
Sweet dreams, little bird.

(675 words. :3 The green jay, the bird you based him off of, actually does use sticks to get to bugs, and I wanted to tie Toboe's thoughtfulness/cleverness to the bird. ^^ Oh, and I hope the font colors aren't a bother. o_o")

Five Words to Describe Toboe:
Curious - Adventurous - Optimistic - Thoughtful - Carefree

(Fun bonus! 8D) Any suggestions for new JBD designs?
Yep, of course! I've seen a lot of animal based ones recently, and two I'd really love to see are chimpmunk and seaturtle. And a really nice color-scheme would be black, white, orange (slightly reddish) and some green or blue. Whichever of the last two colors isn't used would be great for the eyes.

• { rolo } •

Postby Lady Masquerade » Fri Jan 18, 2013 9:53 am

    Image

    { username } • 46 year old man.
So yeah, I'm a 46 year old man, like my username states. I like to sit around and knit mittens for my kittens, because I'm just that swagtastic. I usually come online every other Tuesday and days when there is a rainbow in the sky. That's just how we roll in Asgard.

    { name } • rolo.
Yeah yeah, I know, I name every male dragon I go for Rolo. But people don't seem to notice that the dragons I go for are always 30-50 numbers spaced out. I have certain things I look for in a "Rolo". Some share a spark with me, and this little tweetie is one of those guys.

{ five words that describe him } • fragile. clusmy. creative. sweet. shy.
He's based off a baby bird, so what other traits could a lil boy like him have? Evil, Nasty, Flirty, Bad Boy? In a baby? Nu.

    { suggestions } • woman. I could go on all day. B]
But I still want to see that neopolitan one, or the one based off the cereal, as you call it. xD

{ story } • from the start, rolo has always been different.
The Jam that Rolo came from was an interesting one indeed. Most of the dragons were build smaller then the average one, and were in more reserved parts of the forest. The Jam hadn't ever run into other dragons before, since no others seemed to be build like the dragons in Rolo's Jam.
an advantage ; rolo's jam was small and tucked away.
Rolo's jam only consisted of five. The two alphas were first, Eagle and Adalie. Eagle was given his name because of his brown fur and white head, along with his yellow nose. His dark wing markings were easy to spot, and he was bigger then anyone in their jam. Probably the size of a small horse. His mate, Adalie, was based off of a red macaw, filled with bright colors and glittering eyes. They had two beans, Claire and Scarlet. Claire looked more like a Osprey, Scarlet seemed like a Red Hawk. Beautiful daughters.
    then there was rolo.
Scarlet and Eagle had been together for around two years. Scarlet was naggy, prissy, and always wanting attention. Eagle loved her, but sometimes didn't have the time for her. There had been another dragon in the Jam before rolo, a blue jay based female named Boria. When Eagle needed someone calm to talk with, Boria was always there to help him. They formed their own romantic bond over time, and Boria got pregnant two months after Scarlet did.
this brought a fatal punishment for boria ; death.
Boria was murdered by Scarlet after she gave birth to Rolo. That was Eagle's request. He wanted his child alive, and said that Boria would have to leave the Jam and never return. When Boria left, Scarlet snuck after her and killed her. Simple. Eagle never knew of this, and neither did Rolo. Many times, Scarlet tried to persuade Eagle to give up on Rolo, for she didn't want to have him in the Jam. This never worked though. Eagle always had a careful eye on Rolo, and it was obvious that Eagle was more connected to him then his two daughters.
scarlet then realized she had to stop this, before it was too late.
In the middle of the night, Scarlet woke up Rolo and told him she had something to show him. The poor baby bean wasn't able to tell that something wrong was going to happen. Unlike his sisters, Rolo was more fragile and shy. He was a bit clumsy, and was often picked on by them. Scarlet promised that what she would show him would make him liked by everyone. Wanting to live up to these words, Rolo eagerly followed her.
    then they reached the waterfall.
Rolo was just a bean, and didn't like the loud noises the waterfall made. He thought it looked interesting, but didn't want to get anywhere near it. Scarlet had other plans, and picked him up in her mouth, setting him on a slim scrap of bark. Scarlet had never spoke to Rolo. She spoke lovingly to her daughters, and complained to her husband. But never had she spoke to Rolo. That's why when she did speak, it showed his poor little self.
"tell your mother i said hello."
Rolo was then floating through the water, his small claws gripping the bark with all his might. He was advancing towards the edge of the waterfall, ready to plummet into whatever was at the end. His eyes were watered up and his body was shaking in fear, ears flat against his head as the rumbling of the waterfall got louder and louder at each coming moment.
    then he fell.
His stomach seemed to drop more then ever, his paws flailing in the air as he let out pathetic little squeaks of fear, water not able to fall from his cheeks as he hit the water. There was no rocks, and it seemed that the river was deep, but the force of hitting the water hurt. It hurt a lot, too. Luckily, the current brought Rolo to the land after a while of trying not to drown, and he was able to climb onto land and out of the water.
    he had survived.
The small bean was tired, wet, cold, and very upset. It didn't take him long to find an old hat in the bushes. A top hat. It was big, and Rolo was able to curl up inside of it because of how small he was. Snuggling his soaking wet tail, Rolo closed his eyes and hoped that in the morning, Eagle would find him and take him home.
rolo slept through the morning, eagle never found him.
Rolo took the hat with him as he went around, trying to find his Jam. He tried to put the hat on his head, but it was too big and just ended up covering his entire body. So the small bean just decided to drag it along with his teeth or push it with his snout. It wasn't too heavy, and Rolo liked the company, even if the company was of the hat. He mumbled to himself, and to the hat, as he looked around, positive that he was heading in the right direction.
however, he wasn't even close to being in the right direction.
Rolo traveled around for a couple days, eating fruit that had fallen from trees or berries that were on bushes. He drank from puddles or from the dew on the grass in the mornings. He strayed from water the best he could, not wanting to get anywhere near it. It took him a while, but after a week had passed, Rolo knew that he probably would find Eagle for a while.
thats when something bright moved in the corner of his eye.
Turning to see what it was, Rolo saw the strangest dragon that he ever layed eyes on. It was obviously an adult, but very small. Bigger then him of course, but still small. It didn't look like it belonged in his old Jam though. It was obviously a female, and had very big, colorful eyes. Teal fur, and many colorful stripes. Around it's neck was an odd item, and a red floating object was on her tail. Then, on her back, was a fluffy blue and white thing that Rolo couldn't identify.
scared, rolo crawled into the top hat and curled up.
The bigger dragon giggled at this and picked up the hat in her mouth, humming to herself as she padded through the woods with it. She was obviously very pleased at her findings of the hat, and of Rolo. Rolo could tell that she seemed very happy, and didn't look too scary, so he stayed curled up and didn't move until the dragon set the hat down, pushing it forward.
then rolo saw another dragon, equally strange.
It was a rich purple with a very large belly, which Rolo thought was odd. This dragon was much bigger then the first one, and frowned once she saw sight of Rolo. Using her big paws, the purple dragon picked him up and held him close, snuggling him into her fur. It was warm and nice, the beating of her heart soothed him into a slumber that for once, wasn't filled with nightmares.
it was peaceful and calm, like the beating of a bird's wings.

name: Kele
short story under 800 words: Kele laughed, slipping down the hill. He tumbled downward farther and farther, and finally came to a stop at the foot. Kele looked up, towards the top, and frowned. The butterfly that had been following him was gone. He sighed, and turned away. "Another friend who's left me," the young JBD mumbled, walking along with his head low.
That's when something fluttered in front of his face. He looked up and watched the little animal raise itself into the air, then stop all wingbeats completely. It would fall towards the earth, but then it picked itself right back up again. It did that over and over, flying along. Kele watched it, slightly bored.
"You left me. I don't want to see you again." Kele said to the fluttering butterfly. It turned around, going past Kele again. Kele sighed, and walked forward. He tried not to notice the butterfly as he went onward. Then he couldn't hold it in any longer. He laughd and ran after the butterfly.
It seemed to fly faster with Kele after it, but Kele didn't care that much. He kept his eyes on the winged creature, oblivious to the scenery around him. Then he fell forward. Kele let out a screech. Dust, rocks and dirt flew up around him, blocking his view as he went down the side of the cliff. A rock hit his eye and he screamed, but then he was suddenly on solid ground. Kele pulled himself into a tight ball.
He saw the butterfly again, fluttering around near him. "Get away from me! Get away!" Kele screeched. But then the butterfly landed on Kele's nose, it's wings moving just slightly. Kele felt his anger melt away. "I-I'm sorry, little butterfly," Kele apologized. He lay there for a few moments, glad to be with his new friend. He was just starting to shut his eyes when a rustle came from the bush.
Then a growl sounded through the bush, as a big cat lunged out. A cougar. Kele yelped and jumped upward, his eyes wide. What do I do..? He was in total shock as the cat growled and swiped at Kele. It's ears lay flat against its head, and it began to clip Kele with it's claws. Kele jumped back, startled.
Then the cat did something different. As the big cat brought it's paw down, it hit the butterfly, knocking it to the ground. Kele was frozen, before quickly acting. "No!" Kele howled, and lunged forward. He pushed the cougar away, mustering up all of his bravery. Kele glanced down at the butterfly. "Buddy, are you okay?" Kele asked. The cougar's fleeding pawsteps echoed away.
The butterfly twitched a wing, before lifting into the air as smoothly as before. Kele watched the butterfly circle into the sky, with a smile on his face. See you later, buddy!

five words to describe him: To describe Kele in five words, it would be a little like this; Shy, fun, stubborn, adventurous and caring.
(Fun bonus! 8D) Any suggestions for new JBD designs? Maybe something peacock based, or a grey JBD with peacock feathers here and there?
