Day 6Tell about a time your kalon had to lie.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ArtemisIt was a very boring day for Artemis, as both she and her sister followed their mother to the castle for yet another calling from the Prince. It seemed recently he just kept getting sick and seeing as their mother was pretty darn good at what she did, these visits seemed to increase in frequency. Now at the beginning Artemis was excited for these visits. Who wouldn't be? But now, they bored her as they weren't actually allowed to wander the castle at all. They were stuck usually in one room for the entire duration of them being there.
"Why do I have to go??!" She whined as they were walking through the castle grounds.
"I don't even like this...herb stuff.."Rika, her mother, just smiled and responded to her,
"Well maybe when you are older you'll be able to stay home alone."Artemis scoffed a bit and turned her head away. That was the answer she always gave.
/When you're older!/ She mimicked the voice in her head mockingly. Thankfully her thoughts were all her own and no one would be able to hear them. As they passed through the court yard a group of young Kalons caught her eye. She stopped and watched them practicing for a moment, her eyes widening and a smile finding it's way onto her face. Now this, this is what she wanted to do!
"Artemis dear, this way." The sound of her mothers voice broke her free from the trance. She took one last longing look at the training exercises and slowly made her way over to her family.

The room they happen to be in this time had large windows that happened to oversee the courtyard. And they at this moment contained Artemis' face smushed up against it as she stared down into the courtyard. She had already asked to go down there to just watch and was given a stern no. How could her mother be so mean to her? Couldn't she see that this was her calling? Artemis sighed and turned away from the window and slumped onto the ground. What was the point in watching if she couldn't join them?
That's when it hit her. Her eyes wandered over to her mother and her sister who were currently preoccupied with other tasks. She then looked over at the door across the room. It was wide open and no one was around. A smug little smile formed on her face as she slowly crept towards the open door, keeping an eye on her family while doing so. Slowly...slowly she made her way to the entrance and with one quick look behind her she bolted down hallway they came from and made her way outside.
Well she was too deep into this scheme to turn back now. Trying to look her best she strode up to the group, confidence seeping through every joint in her body. She wasn't sure if it was going to work but it was worth a shot.
"Uh, hello. I'm the new recruit?" She said to one of the grownups, her confidence beginning to slip through her paws.
The older Kalon looked over, an eyebrow raised slightly.
"You are Ryder? Well mister Ryder, you are late. And that is unacceptable. Because this is your first day you will get off with a warning. But next time we won't be as lenient."Artemis swallowed and nodding,
"Y-Yes sir...""Good. Now go join the rest of your group. They will show you what you need to do." The Kalon flicked their tail in the direction of a group of boys and then walked away.

It seemed like the rest of the plan had gone off without a hitch. Artemis was proud of herself. She had managed to get away from her 'overprotective' mother and she managed to convince the teacher that she was someone else. And out of all that, today she deemed was one of the best days of her life. But she knew she couldn't slip up...or this lie she had managed to make up would fall apart. And if they found out that she was a girl, well Artemis didn't want to think of the consequences that could follow her for lying to the royal guard.
Artemis walked back home with her family, convincing them to take a different route, in hopes that she wouldn't meet up with any of her new 'teachers' or 'classmates'.
