I want to make people laugh. I want to see them smile, put a sparkle in their eye and a spring in their step. I want to do everything to make you laugh. Sure, some of my jokes are forced, but what can I say? After all, I'm a comedian by nature.

"We have been getting reports that the Smithwick house, known for many suspicious activities such as murders, mysterious disappearances of household pets, blah blah blah…” Ianto trailed off, tossing his head with a laugh. Onni responded with a glare.
“It’s not a laughing matter.” His voice was gruff, his accent almost completely masked by his tone. Ianto gave a patient, mocking smile.
“Believe me, when I get eaten by a ghost I won’t be laughing.” The green kalon let a lopsided grin stretch across his face. Onni gave a sigh at Ianto’s sarcastic remark.
“I’ll be.” He shot back, narrowing his blue eyes. As the pair walked, Ianto quieted, listening to the rhythm of their pawsteps. His green and blue eyes darted over to Onni, before he quickly glanced away. The silence lingered in the air, and Onni spoke with a sharp edge of anxiety in his voice.
“What is it?” Ianto shook his head, looking to the ground, then to his paws. “Yan, why are you not looking at me?” His white hair flopping over one eye, Ianto gave a sigh, and then spoke in a small voice.
“I may have accidentally invited someone else on our trip to the Smithwick house.” Onni snorted.
“That’s not that bad!” Ianto raised his eyebrows in response.
Ianto hesitated before speaking again.
“I invited- Mateyo invited himself.” The green kalon watched as Onni’s expression shifted from mockery, to shock, to anger.
“Mateyo? You know he and I don’t get along! Why would you do that?” His eyes darkened to a stormy blue. Ianto cringed.
“”I’m sorry! I really am! I didn't mean to-” Ianto was interupted by a loud whoop, as a red haired Kalon skittered up from behind him.
“Buddy, what are you sorry about?” Mateo had a grin plastered on his face. Onni gave a huff, and then spoke, his voice barely masking his annoyance.
“Mateyo… I didn't know you'd be joining us.”
“I decided it would be fun. After all, Ianto still owes me a favour.” Mateyo narrowed his eyes, a devilish smile tracing his lips. Onni sighed. He had a feeling that this ghost hunt was going to go one much longer than he would enjoy.
Onni was right. The first night at the Smithwick house was nearly unbearable. Mateyo made unnecessary comments, his tone mocking. He laughed at the way Onni shushed him, and at everything Onni did. The blond Kalon was sick of Mateyo’s antics by morning.
When lunch came around, Onni was completely fed up. The red haired Mateyo had made a rude comment about Onni’s mother, of all things. Onni narrowed his deep blue eyes.
“What did you say?”
“Chill, you heard me the first time.” Mateyo snorted.
“Mateyo, I'm done.” To Onni’s surprise, the belligerent Mateyo looked shocked.
“What? Don't you still have two days on this trip?”
“I'm done,” Onni hissed, “With you. I've had enough.” Whatever comeback Mateyo was formulating fell from his tongue. His shoulders fell, ears lowering. He could only give a one syllable answer.
“Oh.” Onni instantly regretted his words. He fumbled for an apology, but Mateyo shrugged, looking hurt. He spoke again, his voice holding the bitter cadence of sadness. “You're right. I have been pretty nasty to you, and I'm, I'm sorry. I was just trying to, you know,” the red haired Kalon stumbled over his words. “I wanted to seem cool.”
With a quick movement, Mateyo picked up his bag. The door to the Smithwick house closed behind him as he left, trying to bite back tears.
