Hamiaah is a caring but fierce boy. He's very stubborn and determined and is not afraid to stand up
for what he believes in. He will not let anyone push him or his beliefs down. This does not mean that
he always challenges others, however. He hates making others feel as if what they believe to be right
is wrong, whether or not it is against what he thinks.
Hamiaah is mature and controlled most of the time, but has moments where he's more smiley and fun.
He's quite bold and brash - but you have to be when you're in charge of an entire garrison in heaven.
Despite this, he's always kind to the other angels and makes sure that they're comfortable and happy
with what they're doing.
When he was part of heaven's army, he always did his best to do what he was told and to follow orders,
but he often struggled to do so, especially when it became apparent to him that heaven had become
corrupt. He began to find it hard to always make the right decision.
He cares for the angels under his command like a father would care for his family. He detests seeing
any harm coming to them and does his best to stick up for them. When he worked with heaven this often
resulted in him being scolded, but now it's the reason why he's so loved by his followers.
Hamiaah has an adoration for the cello. He loves how it can hit both the high notes of a violin and the
low notes of a double bass. When he's playing, he pours all of his emotions into it. All his anger and
frustration and sorrow is streamed into the notes. Sometimes when the angels are feeling hopeless or
disheartened, he plays to them until they're thinking of nothing but the sweet melodies filling the air.
The most important thing in Hamiaah's life is his mate, Amara. Since they first became acquainted through
a friend - Gabriel - she has been helping him in his war against heaven. Having the moon spirit in her, the
powers she wielded allowed her to do more than most other soldiers in Hamiaah's army. After spending so
much time together, their relationship slowly evolved into what it is today.
Word count: 400/400
Hamiaah stared at his reflection in the full-length mirror in his room and let out a shuddering,
shaking breath. He was disgusted with himself. With his orders.
With heaven.
The starry kingdom was corrupted and there was no denying it, especially after what he was forced to
do today. Never had he imagined that he could ever harm a fellow angel. They had done nothing wrong
except question an order. Asked "why?" Yet they had been punished.
He squeezed his eyes shut as he remembered how her head snapped to the side after his fist made
contact with her cheek. A tear rolled down his face as he remembered how she'd clutched the wounded
area and looked up at him - her trusted commander - with fear and uncertainty. He hung his head as he
recalled how she doubled over when he kicked her in the stomach. But he had no choice, right? If he had
been the one to say no, he would have received the same fate.
He opened his eyes as his train of thought derailed completely and burst into flames. "I'm a coward."
He lifted his head to turn his gaze back to his reflection. He puffed out his chest as a new found determination
swept through his veins like adrenaline. "I can't carry on. Not like this. I am not going to let myself or the
angels under my command be... bullied by the archangels any longer."
With that, he turned on his heel and marched out to find the angel he struck.
Since this moment the atmosphere in heaven grew tenser and tenser as angels moved away from the
archangels to stand by Hamiaah's side and defy their ruling. It became more apparent to others that
what was going on was wrong and it wasn't long before Hamiaah declared war on the archangels.
However, many also moved to stand with the archangels. Some feared that
they would be slain if they opposed those in charge. A few really agreed with what they did, but that
was because they were among the minority who reaped the benefits.
Hamiaah's garrison never left his side. They knew that he cared for them but they also knew that he
was wise. He had been closer to the archangels than any of those below him and he had seen the
atrocities they carried out. Even the female who he was forced to punish stood by his side after quickly
realising that his apologies were genuine. The first few years were horrendous. The rebels were pushed
back and punished until they were almost defeated, but the tides began to turn and they gained ground.
It was beginning to look like things might actually change for the better.
And angels began to hope.

--- What gives you a sense of fulfilment in life? ---
"Getting things done. Helping people... learning a song... That kinda thing."
--- If you could spend a weekend anywhere, where would it be? ---
"I don't receive weekends or days off but if I had to choose I'd say somewhere quiet and removed from
society on earth."
--- If you could turn time back to before the war, would you? ---
"As much as I miss the friends I've lost, no. This is vital to the freedom and future of heaven and I think
that it's more important than my happiness."
Over the course of my long life, I have come to believe that we are bound forever to those with whom we share blood. And while we may not choose our family, that bond can be our greatest strength...or our deepest regret. This unfortunate truth has haunted me for as long as I can recall.
