Quick Personality
Lani Lore is an adventurer.
She's a creative thinker, and
has the ability to solve and
construct. Lani is creative, a
hard-worker and can sometimes be
intimidating when she's not busy
being shy. Her occupation
as a 'treasure hunter' involves
Lani travelling to many dangerous
places, where she must crack various
codes to help her uncover valuable
treasures. Lani must have the skill
to unravel their history and purpose,
then rescue them from their often
crumbling temple or tomb. Lani is
observant, and pays close attention
to detail. She is very patient, but at
times can be easily agitated.

Don't be afraid. The voice inside my head is cold, searing me like the harsh winter weather.
We march towards the decrepit temple,
rugged up in layers and layers of sweltering
coats and jackets. A plumerian with charming
curls stands beside me, his breath slow and his
eyes misty. "I don't know why I volunteered for
this," he mutters bitterly. A plumerian just
behind me sighs in irritation, "we all know
why we volunteered. None of us can deny
a call to adventure!" The cold bites down on my bones, making me tremor. "Saiya, unlike you, I came for the treasure," the curly haired plumerian retorts. A young plumerian, maybe only eighteen years old, appears just as agitated, "don't argue. We have to work as a team, remember?" The main reason for us coming here is to unravel history. I hold back my words. The young plumerian does have a rather convincing point. The other two don't react or continue to argue. Oddly enough, it seems the youngest of the group is in charge. After a few moments of comforting silence, Saiya turns to me abruptly, "You came for an adventure, right? Or am I the only one with the spark for a journey?" I simply shrug, shaking off the conversation. Of course I came for an adventure. Unlike the curly haired plumerian, to me the treasure is just a small objective. "We've nearly reached our destination!" calls out the young plumerian. She's far ahead of us, hard to see through the spiralling snow. Saiya can barely hide her anticipation, "I wonder what we'll find!" I can't help but feel annoyed, "it's not about what we find. It's about the history behind it." The curly haired plumerian glances at me, perplexed, "I thought you were meant to be the kind one in this operation." I sigh, and gather myself, "sometimes, things annoy me, alright?" and then I add, "sorry. I don't mean to sound arrogant." Through the blinding snow I see the faint outline of a towering structure. The temple, I presume. "It appears we're here," Saiya states the obvious, "so let's get started." The young plumerian edges closer towards the temple, "do we go inside, or first do we examine the outside structure? It might collapse soon, and we definitely don't want to be inside it if it does." Saiya investigated the temple's outside area, "Zinnia, it's stone. Stone is meant to last forever," she takes a closer look, "probably made to worship some god or goddess." The curly haired plumerian cuts to the point, "then it's safe to go inside." Zinnia turns to me as if asking for permission, "Lani, that's your name, isn't it? You're meant to be the expert with these things, so you should enter first." I awkwardly agree to her offer. "Cylan, you go in after Lani. Saiya, stay with me," Zinnia orders. "Who died and made you queen?" mutters Cylan underneath his breath. Zinnia shoots him a knowing glance, and Cylan cowers. Saiya smiles at me politely, "come on, Lani. Begin the adventure!" I smile wearily and pad calmly through the enormous entrance, closely followed by Cylan. "Woah, this place is huge!" gasps Cylan, "which means more space for treasure, my friends!" I try not to get agitated. All Cylan thinks about is the treasure. In the centre of the temple is a spectacular statue, with diamond eyes reflecting light. "The statue most likely represents some kind of Egyptian god," I remark. Cylan completely ignores me, "those diamonds could be worth a fair bit, I think." Before I have the chance to scold Cylan on his bad behaviour, Zinnia and Saiya walk in, tails dragging along the stone floor. "Oh my..." Zinnia tilts her head, "that great big statue was totally not expected." I respond "actually, it kind of was because-" Zinnia cuts me off, "I don't want to hear some goofy information about worshipping and stuff." Cylan searches the temple's walls, "so, what now?" Saiya nervously investigates the walls. Suddenly, she stops in here tracks. "Hey guys, I think I've found something!" her enthusiasm is evident. Zinnia skids to a halt in front of her, "yeah, what is it? Something good, I hope." Cylan and I walk over and join them. "I think I've found a door," explains Saiya. "You mean...there's another room?" questions Cylan. Zinnia cringes, "of course there's another room, dumbo!" I exhale. You expect a teenager to act like one. "Well, let's open it!" says Saiya, becoming impatient. She bangs into it, then retreats, blushing, "um, how do you open it?" she asks. "There's no knob," observes Cylan, "but it's obviously some kind of door." I inspect the door. It's puzzling. Of all my expeditions to ruins, temples or tombs- none have been quite like this. There are shapes covering most of the door, with empty spaces lying in between. This can only leave one option. "I think it's some kind of puzzle," I conclude, "but I'm not sure what kind." Saiya laughs, "now this is an adventure!" Zinnia smiles at me, not in a mocking way, "here's the brains of Lani Lore we were told about!" I smile. Finally, it felt like we were a team. Cylan appears lost, "um, so called genius, how do we complete the puzzle?" It took a bit of time for me to understand. If I peered closely at the various shapes, I saw small carvings of jumbled letters. "Connect the letters," I tell them, "it's actually extremely simple. Just move the shapes into the correct position." Zinnia musters a small giggle, "we were thinking in the completely opposite direction." Cylan and I both place our paws onto the shapes. Cylan has a brain for problem solving, just like me. Soon enough, the shapes had been clicked into position. "Can I open door? Please, please, please?" begs Saiya. "Sure, why not!" I answer, "you did find the door, after all." In a rush of excitement, Saiya pushes the door open. "See anything...valuable?" asks Cylan with interest. "I see...something that could contain something valuable," replies Saiya, obviously not too thrilled with what she saw. Cylan shoves past Saiya and sees a small chest perched upon a small table carved from ivy, sitting in the centre of a large, circular room. Zinnia bursts through the door. I follow her, keeping my distance. "Well, what are you waiting for? Let's open it!" exclaims Zinnia. "Wait!" I gasp, "you should examine the chest first..." But it was too late. Zinnia opens the chest with a loud popping sound. The temple begins to crumble around us, it's walls shattering. "Hey!" Saiya expresses. "this is just like one of those creepy movies where..." Cylan snaps at her, "yeah, we get the point, missy." I'm the first to register what's happening. "Everyone, quick, run!" I yell. Zinnia grabs the box, not willing to leave it behind. We all run through the door of shapes, Zinnia the last to run through. We nearly make is safely out, but Cylan stops. "The diamonds!" he shouts over the noise of the falling temple, "I have to retrieve them!" Anger sweeps down on me. Cylan and his greedy mind. Cylan sprints towards the diamonds, closely followed by Saiya. "I have to help Cylan, no matter the cost!" Saiya explains, trembling. "There's no time!" I reply, my heart pounding. Saiya glares at me, "go, then. I'm staying here with Cylan." Summoning all my strength, I race after Cylan. "Hurry!" I shout. I see Cylan attempting to rescue the diamonds from the eyes of a stone statue. Suddenly, Zinnia calls out, "it's alright, Cylan! We have the chest!" her voice is terror stricken. Cylan seems to understand the danger he's putting us in, and retreats from the statue. The walls are collapsing around me, shaking and crumbling. Zinnia stands just outside the entrance to the temple. Cylan, Saiya and I bound towards Zinnia, our legs pumping and our hearts racing. We leap outside and land awkwardly on hard, orange dirt. "Hey, the dirt's the same colour as you, Cylan!" remarks Zinnia. She's trying to distract us from the terror around us. "Let's run!" I yell, and we all sprint towards safety. Finally, we're safe. I can see the grand temple in the distance, now nothing more than a pile of rubble. "Open the chest, Zinnia," says Cylan with a shaky voice. Saiya smiles, a glint in her eyes, "now that's an adventure!" Zinnia reaches for the chest, then pauses. "We should all open this together. We are a team, after all," she says. I agree with a nod of my head. I place my paw on the chest, preparing to open it. Cylan and Saiya do the same. We all lift up the lid, with nervous quivers. All the excitement drifts away when we see what's inside the box. "A feather?" remarks Cylan, obviously heart-broken. Saiya and Zinnia appear defeated. "It's alright guys," I say in a cheerful tone, "the pharaoh of the temple would have most likely placed the feather in the chest for a good reason." Cylan grits his teeth, "it's still not valuable." I sigh, "no, maybe not. But that's not the point. It's the history behind an object which makes it valuable." Zinnia laughs, "oh, here we go! Another history lesson." Cylan suddenly laughs, and Saiya joins in. I laugh, too. Zinnia smiles, "see? It's not about the adventure, the treasure or the history. It's about the synergism." Saiya stares at her blankly, "the what?" Zinnia laughs once more, "it means friendship, collaboration and teamwork." Saiya rolls her eyes playfully, "it's still about the adventure, no matter what you say." Cylan grins, "in my opinion, it's always about the treasure." I add with a wink, "for me, it's always been the history." Zinnia whines sarcastically, "I thought I had taught you guys a lesson!" We all laugh again, and Saiya lifts up the feather and places it behind her ear. "Like my new do?" she says. I chuckle, "be careful with that." Sometimes, there are some things that come before history. I've realised that now.
