Her name is Effervescence Euphoric because she's a showdragon, and they're required to have long, registered names in order to compete. Effervescence means the quality of being bubbly, and euphoric means extremely happy, so those two things seemed to fit her very well. Because they can't call her by her full name every day, her nickname is Tanya. No special story around it, she just looked like the name would suit her. Luckily, she seems to like it quite a bit.![]()
Female, silly! Tanya would greatly injure you if you ever called her a boy...believe it or not, that's happened before.
Tanya is about the size of a golden retriever= (she's not short. She's fun-sized.) She is three years old, which translates to about thirteen in people years. She weighs sixty-five pounds and has a puff-style tail and upright horns. Her primary colors are carmine, fuchsia, mango, and teal.
Tanya is fun-loving and sweet, outgoing and social, competitive and intense. She's the kind of friend that knows exactly when you're feeling sad, and comes right over to nuzzle your shoulder and cheer you up. I see her as having three modes: her intense mode, her sensitive/serious mode, and her fun-loving one. The first (intense) is for when she's at shows. Despite being so charismatic, Tanya is deadly competitive, and if she doesn't win there will be havoc in the world. I can't say this is my favorite one of her qualities because she'll stop caring about everything except first place, and I can't seem to find the dragon I most of the time know and love.
The second mode is her sensitive or serious one. This is rare, and very special when it comes out. Tanya is quite empathetic, and if I'm sad she'll know when to stop kidding around and come help me out. She has a sense of humor, but it's to her credit that she always knows when to calm down. If something serious is going on, or I want some quiet, Tanya will always know, respect, and be very sweet about it.
The third mode is the one you would guess just looking at her--Tanya is a party girl! She's happy and bubbly, sweet and charismatic, a complete people-pleaser. She has exhausting stamina for all things social, and I (a shy person) can find that hard to live with. But that's just a key part of Tanya's personality, and I wouldn't give her up for anything. <3
Tanya likes crowds of people, talking, bright colors, sunny days, swimming, strawberries, cupcakes, travel, and her family. To go a little more in depth with these:~Strawberry Cupcakes, single best recipe ever~
Ingredients
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1 small package frozen strawberries thawed and chopped
Standard Muffin Pan, Baking Cups
Strawberry Flavored Icing
Sliced Fresh Strawberries
Directions
Heat oven to 350*. All ovens are different so be sure to heat yours to the correct temperature.
Cream together the sugar and butter.
Beat in eggs one at a time then stir in vanilla.
Combine flour and baking powder.
Add the combined flour and baking powder to the creamed mixture and mix well.
Stir in milk until batter is smooth.
Finally, mix in thawed chopped strawberries.
Fill muffin cups 3/4 full. It is best to use an ice cream scoop to measure each cup precisely. If a cup is too full it will overflow and cause a mess. If a cup is filled too low it will not rise to the top and will be difficult to top with icing.
Bake for 20 minutes. As stated before, ovens bake at different temperatures. After 15 minutes check to see if cupcakes are ready by sticking a toothpick in the middle of one. If the toothpick comes out clean they are ready.
Cool cupcakes in pan. Cupcakes must be completely cooled before topping with icing.
Top cupcakes generously with the strawberry icing. For even more strawberry flavor you can add additional thawed frozen strawberries to the icing.
Fan out about three slices of fresh strawberries on top of each cupcake.

Tanya hates the dark! I find that such a cute fear. She also doesn't like dull colors, being alone, chinese food, losing competitions, and rainy days. She also tends to shy from strong emotions, especially if they're not happy ones.![]()
Fanciful Daydreams, the elite showdragon, was going into labor on the living room carpet, and Ali Maine was not happy about it. She was going to be late to work for the third day in a row--how much longer until she just lost her job? Sure, she got a bit of money from showing Fancy and her other 'pets,' but not nearly enough for both herself and her husband to live off of. Besides, helping something give birth was messy. Ali didn't particularly want to engage in it at six in the morning. But, like any good pet owner would, she rolled up her sleeves and got down on the carpet. Fancy whimpered. Ali sighed. Why did Jay have to be on a business trip today of all days? It was going to be too long a morning.
Jason Maine returned home from a very boring meeting in Oregon to possibly the sweetest sight he'd seen in his life. Fancy was curled up on the carpet with a litter of six new pups and his wife Ali was sprawled out sleeping next to her, thing blonde hair cascading around her elfin face. Jay smiled, and tried to tiptoe around them, but Ali woke and jumped to her feet. She hated it when people thought she was being 'cute,' and tried to pretend she had never fallen victim to the worst of adjectives. She nodded at her husband and gave him a quick kiss, then showed off Fancy's new litter (Fancy was too busy sleeping to do it herself).
Jay was much more sentimental about these things than his wife. He thought the pups were just adorable, especially the orange one with almost oriental markings. The little boy would make a great show-er for sure. The rest would be put up for adoption, Ali would do her usually strict background check to make sure they were going to good homes, and life would be peaceful once again. He snuggled the orange boy (maybe he could name him Zachi? It sounded cute enough.) to his chest and looked up at his wife blissfully. She shook her head ruefully, then joined him with a different pup in her arms.
Three quick months later all the pups had been given new homes, and Zachi was safe with Jay. It looked like they all had found nice families, and the first few days of pup-free quiet was heaven. Then came the dreaded phone call: the owners of one of the dragons had found her 'too much trouble.' They needed an animal 'more relaxed,' and 'not so social.' Ali had taken the message to Jay, and even though it was hard there was only one option that made sense. Zachi would have to go and live with the people (he was about as calm as creatures come) and the other pup would come back to stay at Maine Lake Dragons. Ali reluctantly took out the subaru and went to pick up their new pet.
The owners of the unwanted pup apologized profusely, and made a heavy contribution to the breeding program to make up for the inconvenience. Ali smiled and nodded in an unhappy daze, then scooped up her new dragon and took her back to the car. She missed Zachi already.
Once the subaru, she looked down at the little creature--and in that simple glance there was a huge revelation. The dragon was absolutely adorable. She had the sweetest swirls and rainbow eyes--rainbow eyes! She'd make a stunning showdragon. The creature leaned up to lick Ali's nose, and another revelation came: maybe she'd make a stunning pet as well.
They named the little girl Effervescence Euphoric, for her bubbly personality, and called her Tanya. Jay fell head-over-heels in love with her, and Ali started to actually relax when Tanya was around--that alone was practically a miracle. As for the little dragon herself, she loved her new home. She roused Fancy back from her broodmare haze and brought all the other dogs back on their toes. Tanya was charismatic, that was for certain, and once she got started there was no stopping her.
Ali was also convinced Tanya could make a spectacular showdragon. So there was training abound, and highly intense work forced the tiny pup to run like she'd never run before. The day of the first show Ali was ready--but Tanya was still a mess. She was discovering a whole new side of herself, the side that was insanely competitive: she wanted to win, and she wanted it badly! But at the same time she was certain she couldn't...there were so many dragons competing against her that were so talented! She could never get the gold...but maybe she could? Maybe, if she really really tried? On the outside Tanya was immaculate, but her mind was in complete and total chaos.
The judge called the dragons out to the ring, and Tanya pranced like she'd never pranced before. All the tail-swishing could make her look completely stupid...but if you have to sin, you might as well sin bravely! She was nervous as heck, but that wasn't going to stop Tanya. She crossed her paws over each other in an elongated gallop as best she could, and sat in front of the judges with her ears pricked. The old man with the clipboard smiled as he ran his wrinkled hand over her fur. "This one's got spunk. She's gonna go far in life, Ms. Maine."
Ali nodded and reached down to pet Tanya's back. Things were going well, she thought.
Tanya agreed, but that didn't mean her heart didn't still almost stop when the winners were announced. Third went to a nice looking darker JDB, second to a beautiful pastel one...the man's voice caught. He had a coughing fit. Come on now, who won... Finally the mic crackled back to life. The winner was announced: Effervescence Euphoric, with an incredible 47 points!
Tanya jumped up on Ali, licking her face and bubbling over with happiness. The first place ribbon was attached to her collar, and she looked out to the cameras in the audience with a dragon beam. There was a little girl begging daddy to buy her a pet like that one...and an middle-aged women much like Ali with two show animals of her own...an official looking man in a business suit...a toddler...all of them were cheering. For her. For Tanya. And as much as she had liked other things in her life, as much as she liked sunshine and swimming and laziness, this had to be about ten times better. There was so much love in the world, and so much sadness. So many people wandering lost, and so many people who had found their forever home.
And right there, at that second, Tanya knew the 'forever home' part finally applied to her.
