A soft cough echoed into the darkness, shuffling in the abyssal emptiness.
They had never been one to hide from darkness, they adored the cold feeling in the starless nights- and any chance for a feeling similar to that would be a miracle for them. They had become adjusted to the dark, as most creatures do when they find themselves trapped in darkness for a long time. They've thought of ways to make this easier, and questioned if he would be able to wear an eye patch, much like pirates would, to make one eye always adjusted to the darkness. They thought it was silly, however, especially so deep down in the ocean.
They see it as an inconvenience to be up in the light, with all of their effort to become adjusted to the darkness being destroyed by bright lights. A better question to ask would be how they make their way through the light, but going through the dark is just as good of one. They walk normally for the most part, but tend to look down towards the ground and look out for small creatures in the sand. If there's anything they'd hate to do more than live at the top of the ocean, it's step on a poor innocent creature in the darkness. He can't see that well, even with the most adjustment to the darkness, only able to identify obstacles by the slightly darker shadow against the dark blue background of the ocean.

"Burmuda? Can you see me?" A voice called out in the darkness, and the creature knew exactly who was speaking to him. A glowing lure in the darkness, and Burmuda knew only one speaking Angler fish. He chuckled, looking to the ground, beginning to dull away due to the light, only to reappear in the light of the lure. Burmuda barely stepped over a small crab, which scuttled away into the sand. "Barely. I can see your lure from a mile away, though." The creature complained, moving to bring the angler's lure away from his face a little. "You know how I am with lights, Angler." Burmuda continued, a slight bit of a smile on his face, going against his thoughts of anger towards having to bring up his night-sight afterwards. "Sorry, Muda, I can't exactly get rid of it." The angler laughed back, slowly beginning to swim next to the creature as he began to walk towards the rocks.
"Walking in the dark is a lot easier with me around, huh?" The angler said softly as they approached the small mountain. Burmuda laughed, softly smacking the anglerfish in a bit of playful banter. "As if, I could walk down here fine without you...but, the company is certainly nice."
