Heiwa (平和)
Meaning peace in Japanese.
Short story:
(Its a lot, sorry D:)
Does the dawn have a name?
the story of Heiwa's Naming
IN the land of isket, it was still dark, the crickets where humming and the birds where sleeping. Suddenly, little squeeks of life could be heard raining from a red mountain, more like a cave though, but for now we'll say mountain.
Inside said mountain, a mother warrior lay exhausted on the floor, pups fighting for a suckle spot. She had her eyes on one though, she seemed quiet, and was curled up against the mothers chest. Confused, the mother warrior nudged the pup, and it let a squeek of irritation pass through its throat. The mother smiled and licked the pup.
A quiet soul of which you bare, my daughter thought the mother, smiling at her newborn pup. A male walked into the birth den, and looked at his mate with a love that no one could explain, he walked over, grinning, and licked his mates forhead.
"Whatcha' got there" he grinned, looking at the pup with a white smile.
The female looked at him, and smiled "I think i have figured out a name for this little one..." she smiled.
"Already? So she'll be the first named of our litter?" he asked with a smile, and laid down "Lets hear it" he encouraged, licking his mates nose.
The Steele Blue Female grinned and lick the pup, "She's very quiet, so i figured Heiwa would be a good name for her, it means Peace." She smiled, and looked at her mate.
Just then, the sun peeked itself over the horizon, showing its bright face to the land of isket. the blue grass shimmered due to the dew that was sprinkled on each blade.
THe male looked at the bright oranges and pinks of the sky, and the crystal like dew drops, and then back to his mate.
"Thats a beautifal name, i think its perfect" he smiled and licked her.
A moment of silence and admiration passed, the female remained exauhsted, and the male, had no intention of staying in the den to keep her awake.
"Shall i leave you to rest?" he asked caringly.
She nodded and laid her head upon her paws "i love you..." She smiled and closed her eyes.
He grinned "Goodnight love..." he said, standing, and walking out of the den.
The Birth mother licked the pup, and smiled, "Heiwa, my little Heiwa: he said, resting he head next to the silent pup.

A pup Based adventure
I waited inside my familys reddish brown den, staring out the exit of which my parent departed, wondering. Its such a wonderful place here on our territory, Im proud to call it my home, I feel welcome. Also there where so many adventures that needed to be discovered, I hear that there are a series of corridors in the mountains that my kind lived.
Ma, and Pa are still out hunting, maybe I can sneak away, and wonder through the tunnels. I looked at the ceiling of the cave, trying to imagine it once more, booby traps, excitement, and huge beatles. I shivered, I dont like beatles, heh this would be fun. I stood and looked around, glancing for the presence of adults and any other unwanted company. I smiled and started walking further into the cave when I was stopped by a bark.
"Whe-Where are you going Heiwa?" asked the little male pup.
I blinked and looked around "er, for an adventure...." I mumbled, hesitant to talk anymore than i already had.
"C-Can i come?!" asked the pup excitedly.
"SHHH!" I snapped, and looked around for any adults tuning into our conversation.
He flattened his ears against his head and nodded, understanding my sudden correction.
I sighed swooshing my tail back and forth in an irritated fashion.
After a moment of quiet I looked at him "There will be Danger."
"I like danger" said the pup in a much braver tone.
"Are you ready?" I asked.
He looked ar me, orange eyes shimmering "For what?" he asked in a whisper.
I snickered and turned from him, prepared to venture down the first corridor "you'll see" I said in a hushed tone and started walking.
He blinked, comming onto the situation in a slow fasion. as soon as he figured out what I meant he yipped and followed after me, and we walked down the corridor together
He was yapping on about, 'How his dad was an international hero' and other nonsense like that, while I was trying to expect the unexpected, so many things came up into my head, boobytraps, hidden beasts, unseen corridors that hadn't been ventured. The excitement, the thrill, I began wondering about how I would manage to bare it all.
"Heiwa!" Snaped the young male, pulling me down from my happy place.
I glared at him with differently colored eyes, my brows furrowed, confused and frusterated.
"Where are we?" he asked, stopping and looking around.
I stopped too, and glaced around, how long had I been in that little cloud of mine? The walls in here werent farmiliar, well of course they werent, you couldnt expect rocks to be the same.
"Uh......." i was still looking around.
To be honest I wasnt to sure where we were, all i knew was that I was in the mountain.
I directed my glance to him once more, and blinked "we're on an adventure" I muttered "it's supposed to be like this" I say, and walked onward, the pup following me timidly.
It was supposed to be like this right? The whole thrill of the adventure was to not know where you are. At least thats what i heard from Story-tellers, they all seemed to have great adventures.
He wanted to yap again, but I walked silently and let him yap away, why did I agree to let him come, it would have been much more fun by myself.
He was still yapping about an hour into our adventure, and I was reaching my boiling point.
"You talk alot..." I muttered, and he stopped talking, looking at me, slowing his pace.
"What? What d'yah mean?" he asked in a confused tone.
I rolled my eyes " 'oh look my father is a hero! He's so awesome! He's says im so special!' " I mimicked in a halfheartedly way.
"B-but, he did say that" he whined.
I rolled my eyes and looked at him, standing straight "Look, on an adventure, you dont know whats comming for you, so you have to be quiet, otherwise you may give your position away to the enemy" i explained, still fuming.
I think i was begining to get a headache, i was talking to much.
He nodded "oh, right, silence is golden" he said, shutting up a moment after.
I smiled, silence is golden eh? I'll have to remember that.
Out of the blue, he said "Your eyes are pretty"
I blinked, and looked at him "w-what?" I asked. Well this adventure has taken an awkward turn, has it not?
He smiled "Your eyes, they are pretty" he repeated, grinning.
"Well uh, I uh" i blinked, having to idea what to say.
"Woah, hold up, its just a complement, dont freak out!" he laughed.
I growled and looked away.
The pup snickered and looked forward.
Come to think of it, i didnt know this kids name, and he knew mine. Thats sad, thats really sad.
"Uh, i dont know your name" I forced myself to say.
He sneezed, and we took a turn.
"My name?" he asked.
I gave a timid nodd in responce.
He snickered "My Names Tokomo" he laughed, pawing at me.
I pawed at him back, this kid was okay.
"Oh, lets play tag!" he suggested, I looked at him and shrugged.
"okay" I smiled, and whacked him with my bushy dark blue tail "your it!" I laughed, and started running.
He chased after me laughing as well.
After a moment off running, I took a corner, I was far ahead, I looked around and found another turn, and took it, hiding in the darkness.
He passed the corridor, and I tried hard to hold back a laugh. I peeked around the corner, and he was no where in sight. I puzzled, and then walked from the hallway "Tokomo?" I called out, looking around.
I whined, and followed his scent trail at a slow walk.
"Tokomo!" I called out again, this time, louder.
There was no responce.
My elation and adrenaline was slowly falling, and then I figured I was completely alone in the tunnels.
Well, Ma always said if your lost, sit an wait, and someone would come for you. So I sat there, and stared at the wall, wondering what could have happened to Tokomo.
It seemed as if hours passed, and I became tired, my eyelids became weights upon my face.
I laid down and sighed, still staring at the wall, I felt a draft wisp through the tunnel and I shivered, curling my tail around my body for warmth.
My eyes closed, and I sighed. What if no one was even looking for me? What if no one cared.
I doubt anyone did, I was always the rebel of the group. Why did I want to come on this adventure in the first place?
Mommy where are you!?
I was begining to sink in a mental breakdown, tears forming in the ducts of my eyes. I sniffled.
"Mommy....." I whined, and laid there.
Almost an hour later i heard the swift sound of pawsteps running down the tunnel i was in, though i didnt bother opening my eyes to identify whom it was.
The Adult, whoever it was, stopped, and sniffed me.
"Heiwa" they said, i identified the voice as male, so i whined.
He Sighed and grabbed me by the scruff, and began to run down the path the way he came.
I was still ,however, was half asleep and i was having trouble indentifying what exactly was going on.
We came to a stop and heard a bright variety of cheers from a female "Heiwa!!" she called.
obviously worried.
I was set down, "She was in the middle of a corridor, sleeping...." said the male, and he snorted "Be sure to keep track of her," he growled.
The female nuzzled me "Thank you sir" she said, and then the male departed.
I opened my eyes and looked over my shoulder, but all i caught glimpse of was the males Tan and black tail.
I was puzzled, who was my savior, and where was that little brat Tokomo.
My mother glared at me and snorted, I smiled at her sheepishly.
She looked pretty mad, had I actually worried her? I frowned, her glare was still rock hard and it was not ceasing to stare into my soul, or so it seemed, it made me uncomfortable no less.
I finally dropped my glance to the floor "sorry Ma..."
She sighed "don't do that again, you had me and Tokomos mother worried sick." she growled.
How could I not have done it, being on an adventure was so fun!
However, I just nodded and looked at her "yes Ma..." I sighed giving a short answer.
She sighed, and licked my head "come it's time for bed" she said grabbing me by the scruff and walking to a part of the den and laid down, placing me on her warm stomach.
I sighed and rolled off of her belly, and curled up against it.
I flicked my soft bush tail up and down, observing the individual white stripes amongst the blue base color that I had known since I could see.
And before I knew it, I had fallen asleep.

A teen Based adventure
An unknown darkness lingered infront of my nose, and something small kept hitting it. Irritated, I shook my head, to show my dissaproval of the small thing that repeatedly hit the end of my snout. There was a moment of silence, and then once again, the small wet thing fell onto my nose. I lifted my head and opened my eyes, looking around for the irritating small thing.
There was nothing in sight, I glanced around, and sighed, what was tapping my nose? I looked at my paws and saw blue grass at the end of my claws, and I observed it. It had dew drops on them, I blinked, it was all comming together now. With a yawn, I stood, taking a few steps forward, and then leaning down for a streach. I stood straight again, and the streached my back legs.
After my streaches I stood straight once more and shook my dark blue pelt of any stray dirt that may have found its way onto me.
I looked over my shoulder, there was our den, why was I sleeping out here? Oh well, now im awake, thats all that matters.
I glanced around, it was oddly quiet. I looked overhead, the sky was still dark, the sun hasnt even risen yet, I guess that means no ones awake. I shrugged, that means I get to be adventurous! Hurrah for being an early bird! I glanced around, to make sure no one was awake, and started walking through the blue grass. Its not like i would go far, just going for a little stroll as some would say. It was still quiet, then i heard the calm chirping of crickets, the uniqe music was soothing. The music made me think of birds chirping along with the crickets, and then warriors howling, in some form of beautifal harmony. I stepped on a stick, it made me immediatly look down to investigate. I stopped, the stick still under my left paw, I sniffed the stick, and lifted my paw off of it, and continued to walk through the light foliage. I looked over my shoulder, just to make sure i hadnt wondered too far from the den sites. I saw the reddish brown caves, still, and then continued onward, carefee. After about five minutes I stopped dead in my tracks, and looked forward. The crickets stopped their calming music, and all remained silent. I scanned the area suspiciously, looking into the nearby bushes with an ever growing thought that I was being watched. I saw a neon green glow hidden among the dark foliage, and I immediatly new it was our races worst enemy.
The Kronador.
I ducked, hoping the beast had not seen me. I looked back over my shoulder again, how far exaclty did I wander from the dens? I never knew a Kronador would dare venture this close to our home. I had to lift my head over the foliage to see the dens, i wondered farther than i had expected, this was bad. I forced myself to calm down, and think rationally, my breathing became quiet. Okay, so if the females had yellow eyes, then that means this one was a male. I looked towards where I saw the beast, and the sinister green glow was no longer present. Confused, I began to slowly stand up straight again, still focusing on the very same spot that I saw the beast. Maybe it hadnt spotted me, huh, how unusual. I was standing straight again, looking around for the glow, once i made sure it was gone, I continued on my walk. I lifted my long furry tail off the ground, it was dragging just a moment ago. The crickets began to chirp again, and walked through the grass at a very casual pace. I made my way to a river, and stopped, wanting to take a break from this walk. I sat down and looked at the sky, stars where shimmering above my head. Seeing the stars made me wonder, how long until sunrise? The crickets song continued, and I closed my eyes, smiling up at the unresponsive stars. I heard the crackle of snapping sticks and looked to my left, I had no time to respond, the Kronador was running at me. I stood to run, and as I took my first step, the kronador whacked my heel with its fore paw, sending me tumbling along the river. I lay there in a heap, my back leg hurt, but I managed to stand, and face this beast on all four legs. I stared at it with furious glowing blue eyes, and it returned the glare, huffing through its large nostrils. I snarled and snapped at the beast, venom tainting the tone, and the Kronador raised its head and let a mighty roar rumble from deep within its chest. I growled, and lunged for an attack, however, it knocked me away with ease. Irritated I stood again, and leaped for it once more, but this time when it swung its fore paw to knock me off my feet, I leaped over the mass, and then used my body to slam into it. It stumbled away, and the eventually fell onto its side. I glared at it without mercy, it seemed to be having a hard time regaining its footing. So, using the little amount of time I had, I ran to it, and bit its neck, tugging at it furiously. It roared, and attempted to push me away, I held on, and its persistant pushing only caused it more pain and agony. I was able to pull the smooth thick flesh off of the neck of this beast, and it took its stand once more, staring at me. I spit the blue-green skin from my mouth and snarled at it again.
I noticed its horns werent as long as an adults, and it was indefinatly shorter, it must be young. Still I snarled, and neared it for another attack. It was quiet, and turned, running for the forest. I panted, and forced myself to calm down once more. that was odd, they usually dont just leave like that, they keep attacking and attacking until it or its foe is dead. Hmph. Oh well, but I think its really time to go, I could see a faint ray of purple sky begin to appear on the horizon.
I looked around again, and then began to run back towards the den site, my back left heel still hurt though, but i managed to ignore it. By the time I arrived back at my home, the sun had risen, and the sky was beutifal shades of orange and pink. I saw a small group of teens gathered, and figured apprentice training was about to begin. As I arrived, the other apprentices turned to look at me, their eyes confused. I dipped my head in silent greeting, and they returned to their conversations. I sat down and sighed, I had run the pain off of my heel, now I felt fine. I looked at the sky once more, and wondered what happened to the Kronador. I imagined several outcomes of the injury it had, one of which was that it got an infection and died, that made me smile, those Kronadors deserved to die.
"Heiwa!" snapped an adult voice, and I blinked my way into real life, oh my, my head had found its way into the clouds.
I looked to the adult, and blinked, showing him he had my attention.
"Focus..." said the male, and I stood, joining the group of teens.
A few hours later, after our training had ended, our teacher announced the armor ceremony and the first appretince left with another warrior to find his armor, but i was still thinking about how strangely that Kronador acted... should I report it?
If i did, i would probably be punished for leaving the caves at night, and not reporting the sight earlier, but if I didnt, and something bad happened, it would all be my fault.
Sighing, I watched my peers depart for their homes, ready for a nap, or some food. I turned to glance at my teacher and walked up to him.
"Sir, i-- uh" I stuttered.
He glanced at me hardly, not in an aggresive way but his glance was so presice it almost seemed that way.
I looked at my paws, now that I had his attention, what was I to say?
There was a moment of silence, and he sighed "Heiwa, did you need something?" he asked in a soft tone, noticing he had startled me. I nodded and looked up at him,
"Sir, I went out walking last night, and-i-uh, was confronted by a small male Kronador" I said, the moment I mentioned their name, his glared hardened again. Not only this but he stiffened.
"How, and more importantly where did this beast confront you?" he demanded, his eyes still glarin hardly at me.
My ears went flat against my head, and i sighed.
"I was by the stream, taking a rest from my walk, and then suddenly I heard a stick snap and heavy hoof steps come trampling towards me" I gulped, so much talking "out of instinct I stood to leap away, but a clawed paw hit my heel and sent me flying, I landed on my side and then I saw its whole body, they scaly blue skin the neon green eyes" I gave a distinct shiver "so I lunged to attack it, but it hit me away once more. Once again I attacked, leaping over the paw it struck me with before and body slammed it to the ground. Then I bit its neck and it came to scratch me with his paws, and missed." I sighed, needing to compose myself, it was all so confusing.
I looked up at him, and he of course was still paying attention.
"Then i pulled some of that nasty blue skin off and a jumped away. It was barely injured and stood, glaring at me angrily. I was ready to attack again, but then it just turned and ran." I sighed looking up at him.
"You fought it off on your own?" he asked.
I shrugged with a slow nodd, glad i had let someone know.
He gave a small smile "well, i'll let everyone else know to keep they're guard up, thank you for telling me." he said with a soft tone again.
I nodded, and turned from him.
"Oh and Heiwa..." he addressed, I looked over my shoulder, my long tail lifted off of the ground.
"Good work, im suprised the Kronador didnt kill you" he smiled and turned away.
Oh yeah, what a complement, was he saying i was weak?
I growled and walked away, ignoring my teachers snickers.
"heiwa, you know im just messing with you!" he called again.
I looked at him silently, and then turned away "thanks i guess" I replied before pawing away.
