He darts up to the prune, curiously nipping at it, but ultimately decides he doesn't care for it, and it sinks into the sand, uneaten. Darn! Better luck next time.

He gives you an inquisitive look as you begin playing, but with a flourish of fins he disappears behind some seaweed. Darn.

I'd like to knit him a teeny tiny little beanie hat, fit for a betta, and then give it to him in hopes of receiving some treasure!

As the hat sinks into the tank, he pokes at it with curiosity, but ultimately lets it sink to the bottom of his tank. Darn, no luck today!

He eyes the bubbly pink dragon with a glimmer of annoyance, but...also, a slight smile? He dives quickly to the bottom of his tank and roots around for a small black pebble, which he shoots in an arc from his tank to the ocean behind you. You're utterly confused until a shimmering black dragon emerges from the ocean, dripping wet but excited to meet you.



What luck! Apparently he deemed you worthy of a friend today! You've won the above dragon- an extraordinarily rare prize!

Somehow the derpy fish managed to skip someone! Bad fishy.

"I rescued a betta that seemed like it had one fin already in the grave. He was a pretty blue and red, but no one seemed to want him. He was listless and sitting in own filth, probably starving since wal-mart is awful for fish. It was so sad. I decided that even if he didn't live long, I wanted him to live the rest of his life well. After I brought him home, made sure to feed him well, and gave him a little cave and a glow in the dark plant to hide with, he, surprisingly, lived very well. He always made cute little bubble nests. He'd come out of his cave every day after I said, 'Good morning, Naru!' or any time I called out to him. His full name was Naraku, but that's the name of a villain in an anime, too, so Naru seemed to suit him better. He was so precious. He even came with me when I moved house and kept me company. Although he's gone now, I remember him fondly."

It seems you've overestimated Grumpy Fish's intelligence, because he immediately flares up and tries to fight the 'enemy' fish by viciously tapping his face on the glass. Once you take the mirror away, he trills about victoriously, seemingly proud of himself for defending his kingdom, but also seems to have forgotten you've visited him. Boo. Better luck tomorrow!
