my main idea

Maybe a series of lions & lionesses with markings similar to a bengal cat. Perhaps one could be an orange, others could be a snow, a silver, or perhaps a charcoal. Bengal cats are typically either rosetted/spotted or marbled (this applies to just about any color variation.)

Bengals can also, on rare occasion, have other markings that are inherited from their domestic linage, but they're not typically bred by breeders and don't get much recognition for actually being possible within the breed. Generally spotted bengals are more sought after than marbled ones. Rosettes/spots can come in a variety of arrangement as well, although differences can be suttle and it more or less comes down to which way a rosette is facing and if spots are in line and how many rows of spots, things like that. Some bengals display a 'glitter' gene, which makes the fur look like it's sort of metalic. x x

I think this idea would work best as a set of adopts, but just one bengal inspired design alone would still be amazing. Bengal cats.

other ideas

i think kestrels look cool.

Lighter colors with a white stripe at the top/back. Something similar to this but on a lion/lioness.

A lion or lioness with two main solid colors (maybe also a 3rd color for the underbelly?) that are in vertical blocky stripes across the lion's back and tail. This snake is similar to what i'm thinking of, perhaps the colors would be more similar to colors naturally found on lions, or perhaps the colors would be like the snake.

A lion or lioness inspired by a skunk (i think a lion would fit this idea the best personally). Inspiration- here, here, here.

1) Snake inspired designs. Snakes are known for being one of the most diverse coloured species of reptiles. They have such gorgeous colour- pattern combinations
2) Exotic fish inspired designs. Who doesn't love to admire the hypnotic colour explosion of an exotic fish? With a big variety of designs to choose from, they can be a great source of inspiration
3) Zebra/okapi patterns. These 2 are classic designs which can occur at almost every animal species. But, exactly this classy style are giving them their beauty. You can't fail when using such a design.
4) Bird inspired designs such as:
Peacock
Accipitridae family members (eagles, hawks etc)
Different species of parrots
Magpie
Falcons (such as peregrine)
Herons
Cockatiels
Cardinals
Quetzals
Jackamars
Sparrows etc
There are so many birds with gorgeous plumage to inspire from!
5) And now, the mammals. Excepting felines, which can have from marbled tabby to stripes or spots, interesting fur designs can be remarked at raccoons, red pandas, lemurs, giraffes (with their unique characteristic pattern), badgers, skunks, AWD (African wild dogs, together with hyenas).
6) Then, you have the insects. There are some interesting species of butterfly to inspire from such as
