Delta Velorum Fox #115 - Winner!

Postby SnowStar » Sat Apr 18, 2015 2:37 pm

Image
Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.

Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.

Variety: Normal tail, Eye Dots/Custom facial markings.

Zed means "The Lord is Just." However, Zed is unsure of his beliefs and identifies as secular for the time being. As such, he interprets the name to simply mean "Justice." One of Zed's core beliefs is in justice and equality for all.

Gender:
Todd/Male

Age:
Approx. 24 in the human age equivalent

Orientation:
Bisexual (Tends toward female mates, however)
Relationships
none yet, but I'm hoping to change that soon! I've got my eyes on two other DVFs whom I think would make a great group of friends for him! See below!~

Extras:
Backstory:

Growing up, Zed always felt isolated from his family and his peers. As a child, Zed had trouble keeping contact with those whom he didn't see on a regular basis. This tendency has cost him a few potential friendships. He was never great at forming lasting relationships, and would often make new friends each year based upon convenience. He never learned how to create lasting bonds with others, and was often excluded from playtime with the others.

Into his teen years, Zed wanted nothing more than a few lasting friendships. However, he always felt as though he had been seen as the 'weird, quiet kid.' This, combined with his lack of social skill formation as a kid led him into depression. At any given time, he had no more than one or two friends with whom he felt comfortable enough to talk to on a regular basis. The few friendships he did make impacted him greatly. Zed was struggling to find his own identity and personality at this time, and the friends he did have really helped to form his views on life, relationships, and world events. He learned a lot from these friends, and though the friendships were often short-lived, he felt close to each one of them, and they all helped in their own way to bring him out of his depression.

At home, Zed was overshadowed by his younger siblings. The two of them were much closer with one another than they were with Zed. They shared many similar interests, interests which clashed with Zed's. His siblings often hung out on their own, excluding Zed. They were much happier at home than Zed was. This exclusion at home, combined with the isolation he faced amongst his peers led Zed to lock himself in his room at any chance he had. His parents always favored his siblings over him because of his tendency to lock himself in his room for some alone time, and his siblings' bubbly attitudes with one another. Zed always felt unwelcomed and unloved at home, and dreamed of the day he could leave and start a new life for himself, with people he loved and new places to explore, far away from home. (369 words)

Personality:
A young adult whose brain is just finishing development, Zed is a free thinker. He thinks for himself, and is not the type to sit back and nod his head when someone presents a view which clashes entirely with his. He likes to talk about his beliefs and debate with others, but he remains respectful about it.

Zed is very mature for his age, and he's often described as having an 'old soul,' meaning he has an old head on young shoulders. He is an innovative thinker, always coming up with new, more effective solutions to problems he encounters in daily life. Zed is very compassionate, for those around him, and for the land on which he lives. He keeps up-to-date on current events in this new world in which the DVFs live. He has an opinion on every problem, and often wishes he could solve them. However, if any social issues arise that really upset Zed and shakes him to the bone, he may spiral into depression, and hatred at the 'ignorant, uncaring' society in which he lives. Whether Zed is in a good mood or a bad mood, it is contagious. But a little bit of faith is always restored when he encounters another DVF who agrees with him and will allow him to rant it out, boosting his mood and morale. (224 words)

Ambitions:
Though he may be mature, Zed is still a young adult. He still yearns to travel and explore new places. He has an interest in dating, but not in 'settling down,' at least not yet. He wishes to discover new places, things, and cultures, and maybe even find himself, before he gets serious about settling down.

As the innovative thinker he is, Zed is always thin king outside the box to find a solution. For example, back in Zed's hometown, there is a small river running right through the middle of the highly populated mainland. In the summer, it is just warm enough to melt away the ice that covers the river, creating strong, high currents. In the winter, the ice can be very slippery, and often too thin to walk on. Thankfully, there have been no fatalities yet, but Zed isn't about to wait around until something happens. He wishes to prevent it. Many locals believe that a large piece of wood should be placed across the river for them to balance on to walk across. However, in the summertime, the current is too high and would rise above the level of the walking path, and in the winter, the surface would become icy and more dangerous to walk across. Also seeing as the wood in the forest is not sturdy enough to build a walking path above the water without rotting away from moisture, air exposure, and overuse, Zed wishes to dig a tunnel underneath the river; an underground passageway. He hopes that this will prevent another child from falling through the ice, falling on his head when the ice is thick, or even being swept away by the strong summer currents.

Should he be able to complete this project successfully, he wishes to travel the world and find new populations. He wants to engage in different types of cultures and learn to be more accepting of different views on everyday life from the locals. Perhaps he will even find more innovative inspiration in these towns he has yet to discover, and maybe, just maybe, he can find a way to improve their daily lives as he hopes to improve the loves of the locals in his home town.

But for now, these are just dreams. Zed must first find the motivation within him to become the hard-working individual he wants to be. He needs to discover his passion and drive in order to muster the courage to leave the familiarity of his home town in pursuit of a bigger, better world. Zed hopes to make these dreams a reality and discover his true self identification through the accomplishments he hopes to achieve and the intercultural relationships he hopes to build. He dreams that perhaps he'll find a companion, or even a significant other to join him on these adventures so that he no longer has to live his life alone. (483 words)

About the adopter and my plans for Zed:
Hello, my name is Gold, I have been an active member of chickensmoothie for over five years now, and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Being a member of chickensmoothie introduced me to the concept of 'characters' when I first joined. I have loved and been spoiling my characters ever since. In fact, I still own and love a majority of my characters from as far back as 2010. Zed will be just as well-loved, and hopefully for just as long, as my other lovelies <3

Zed will be my first DVF, should I be selected. I happened to see him on the first page of 'created pets' and just fell in love with him! I've since looked into the species as well, and I just love them, I've even fallen head-over-heels for two others. I can't guarantee that I will win all three of them, but if I do, I think they would make a great little family/group. Firstly, I have my eyes on
nursery DVF #9. I would name the little boy "Finn." Finn and Zed will have a very 'cool, young Uncle/Nephew' relationship with one another. They won't actually be related, but Zed will keep an eye on the little guy and take him along on his adventures, teaching Finn right from wrong and basic life skills. Their relationship is less of a parent/child dynamic than it is role models and companions to one another. I also fell for DVF #114, whom I would call 'Kira.' I imagine Kira as a very free-spirited young female. She would have a small crush on Zed, and admire the way he raises Finn so well, without being overbearing. Kira and Zed would slowly grow their relationship until Zed is ready to invite Kira to join him and Finn on their many adventures, perhaps beginning to date and the three of them would someday form a sort of 'family.'

If I am selected as an owner for Zed, I will do everything in my power to win Finn and Kira, as I would absolutely love to play these three out together, and continue to develop personalities and friendships for them. Zed will be spoiled, well-loved, and never forgotten. (371 words)

Name: Snjòr Fura

Name Meaning: Snow Pine in Icelandic. Snjòr was named after the towering evergreens in his homeland.

Gender: Todd

Sexuality: Straight

Personality: Snjòr is very quiet and reserved. Some believe he is mute after spending a little time with him, which is partially true. He is more like a follower than a leader, and rarely speaks out or argues. His friends call him wise beyond his years, yet he knows he has much to learn.

History: Snjòr has always been mellow and peaceful. When he was a pup, he was almost always silent, leaving his parents to believe he was mute. When he finally did speak, they found out that he was not mute, but he did have a very quiet voice, no matter how hard he tried to speak up. Snjòr preferred to stay silent, so his family granted his wish, and didn't ask him to speak unless he needed to. When he became a teenager, Snjòr, unlike the others around him, didn't chase after pretty vixens. Instead, he befriended a playful vixen named Kanína. The two had no romantic intentions, but found they were absolutely smitten with each other. As they grew, both personally considered asking the other to be mates because of their fondness for each other (and pressuring from their families), but it was too late when Kanína was struck down with an illness and died. Snjòr greatly mourned her, but moved on. He has never loved another vixen as much as he loved Kanína. After his love's death, he considered leaving the clan, but eventually settled on the idea to stay where he was.

Extras: [The following is the story of how Kanína and Snjòr met one dull, autumn day . . .]
A cream todd was sprawled out in the middle of a slightly snowy clearing, sunning himself. His violet eyes were droopy with sleep, like he was going to close them any second. He was alone, but he liked it that way. His name was Snjòr.
Snjòr had escaped from his family's cramped den even before sunrise. He disliked the loud whimpering of his newborn sibling while he was trying to sleep, yet he never showed it. Snjòr didn't want to upset his parents by revealing he didn't care for another mouth to feed. The couple had always wanted a vixen, but when Snjòr had been born, their hopes were dashed. They had tried multiple times, but this time was the only time where the pup had survived past two days. Now, his parents were aging quickly. This little pup they had now was probably their last chance.
As all these deep thoughts coursed through his mind, a russet vixen was stalking into the clearing. She stepped on twigs deliberately, which failed to catch the mysterious todd's attention. She prepared herself, then pounced playfully onto the rock.
Snjòr was shocked, so shocked that he toppled right off the rock, into a cold bank of snow. The russet vixen guffawed.
"I got you so good!" she chuckled. She continued laughing, until she realized the todd wasn't coming up from the snow. She peaked her head over the edge of the rock. "Uh . . . you okay down there?" she called out. Then, Snjòr's cream head popped up from the snow bank, unamused.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you if I did!" The vixen helped him up onto the rock again, brushing off the snow from his pelt. "I'm Kanína, by the way. Sorry, it was just a bit of mischief." Kanína smiled playfully. Unexpectedly, Snjòr's gaze softened and he smiled back at her.
"It's okay, that was fun. Could we do that more often?"

(371 words)

So full of hate were our eyes
That none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead
But never victory
So let us cast arms aside
And like discard our wrath
Thou, in faith, will keep us safe
Whilst we find the path

Hey, I saw this a few days ago but forgot to respond! Thank you so much, I'm very happy to be chosen! If it's no bother, may I be added so I can make him a character page and potentially add accessories if I ever decide I want to? Thanks SnowStar, he's a beauty <3
