Memory: Shell padded through the shallow water, his golden eyes narrowed in concentration as he searched for items hidden in the sand. He looked up briefly, checking to make sure that Pearl was still where he could see her. After checking that she was safe, the rosetted tom returned to his search.

Since they were old enough to walk, Shell would find little gifts for his littermate and bring them to her. No matter how many times he brought her a gift, she always squealed happily and cherished the gift as if it was the only one he had given her. The tom purred quietly to himself when he saw the pointed horn of a conch shell poking out from beneath the sand.

Shell carefully shifted the sand to the side, making sure to not disturb the shell too much in fear that the water would wash it away as soon as it was free. With a satisfied purr, Shell plucked the conch shell out of the sand and water. His eyes glittered happily as he looked down at the peach color of the shell, just knowing that Pearl would love it.

The young tom darted out of the shallow water, making a bee-line for his torbie sister, who was busy finishing off the prey he had caught her earlier that morning. Shell sat the conch shell in front of his sister, his paws kneading the sand eagerly as he waited her approval.

"Shell! It's beautiful!" The she-cat cried, scooping the shell up to take a closer look at the swirl pattern that adorned it. Pearl set it down and pressed against her brother's side, purring happily. "Thank you so much!"
