3. Why are they threatened/endangered/extinct? (source please!): Dugongs are endangered due to gill netting,
subsidence hunting, habitat loss, and pollution. Source
4. What can we do/what is being done to help?: Dugongs can be protected if more awareness is raised for them,
forcing the government to step up and put forth more of an effort to save them. There are currently anti-hunting
laws in place to protect them, however, in places other than Australia these laws are rarely enforced. Donating
to the great people that are trying to protect these beautiful creatures can also help the effort to keep these
gentle giants alive and well! I'm super duper broke right now so I couldn't donate a lot but I tried ;;

we unfortunately can't save a gone species but there are things we can do to prevent other amphibians from going in the same direction

don't use harmful pesticides
(washes into water
gets on bugs they eat)
leave wild animals in the wild
don't release your pets into the wild
(introduces new predators)

3. Why are they threatened/endangered/extinct? (source please!): Since Hector's Dolphins live around the coastal areas of New Zealand they are close to the shore and the biggest threat to them is becoming entangled in gill and trawl nets. Gillnets are the biggest problem for them as they are made of a fine mesh meaning the dolphins can't detect them underwater and they swim into them by accident. Although this is the main threat and cause of endangerment they are also threatened by pollution in their habitat, coastal development, and seabed mining. Being struck by boats is also a problem, especially for the young Hector's dolphins. X
4. What can we do/what is being done to help?:
There are many organisations in New Zealand set on helping these dolphins and they encourage to report to them if you see any as they need to make sure they are all catergorised. The Department of Conservation for New Zealand has a page all about Hector's Dolphins and how to help or what to do in a situation where you see them.

it has to be a leopard, I love big cats with all my heart and it really hurts seeing them treated
so poorly.

they suffer from hunting. People sell their fur illegally, as it's viewed as beautiful. They bring a large sum of money
due to their rarity (I assume), but this is what's causing them to grow more extinct. There's also a lack of food, because
of over hunting. There isn't enough prey to feed a large group of leopards.

4. What can we do/what is being done to help?: xxx
the wwf are working with the government and TRAFFIC to catch the criminals selling these
leopards fur. The leopards are tracked and the areas they are in / habit the most are
put under protection from illegal logging activities that threaten to destroy their habitat.

You can raise awareness for the Asian Elephants, or elephants in general, or donate to any conservation site
People around the world have been doing so,in hopes that the Asian Elephant can be saved from the "brink of extinction," as most people call it.

I had fun learning more about other endangered species I didnt realise were going/already extinct/endangered!
Really broke my heart when reading through forms!
