have you ever lost something so dear it broke your heart?
When Rowen was young his bunny meant everything to him. It had been a gift from his adoptive mother on the day that they met, and boy did she mean the world to him. That bunny was like his rock, his crutch to lean on. It chased away the nightmares of being left alone and gave him someone to talk to when he was feeling down. The day he lost her was the day he decided he had to save anyone he could from that kind of pain. It had been like any other day, just the two of them walking along the rive bank with her clutched under his arm and him humming away with his broken little vocal chords. When a bear cub came toddling out from under the brush right next to him Rowen had just about jumped out of his skin, unfortunately Darla [the stuffed bunny] actually did and went flying into the river. He did everything he could to try and get her back, even climbing out on the limb of that old oak tree, but nothing worked and he had to watch as his beloved bunny floated away with that perfect little half smile, like she had no idea of the importance of what was going on. When he finally made it back through the woods and to the safety of his home his clothes were torn and tattered, covered in filth, and his eyes swollen pink with tears as he mourned the loss of his bunny. After a few years he finally grew up and matured and the attachment to Darla slowly faded to the point he could pass by a small child clutching their own stuffed animal on the streets without crying. When he showed an adeptatude in police training for noticing the smallest clues and be able to solve the mysteries and puzzles that stumped everyone else he decided to put his skills to good use and help all those that had ever lost something before. He's been a P.I. for many years now and is often considered the top of his field ... all thanks to a frightened little boy loosing his stuffed bunny.
