Name;; Thiele (after a comet)
Gender;; female
Adoptive Parent(s);; HalleyRelationships;; Halley: Halley is Thiele's adoptive mother. She cares for the little vaiki when she isn't busy with her work and keeps a close eye on her behavior. She finds Thiele to be a very bright and promising child, and absolutely adores having the chance to raise and nurture her and her curiosities. The pair have a very close bond and spend most of their time together curled up on the roof with food and Halley explaining one thing or another about science to the enthusiastic little one. Thiele doesn't actually know that Halley isn't her real mother, but even if she did it probably wouldn't change anything. The youngster admires and looks up to Halley greatly, especially when it comes to her research on comets and asteroids.
Flux: Flux is sometimes used as a babysitter for Thiele when Halley gets desperate. Thiele thinks Flux is kinda weird but also kinda cool, since the larger vaiki often works on things like small robots and programming for computers. They don't have much of a relationship due to the fact that Flux doesn't much enjoy company outside of Machina or looking after the kid, despite the admiration Thiele has for them.
Izumi: Izumi is Thiele's favorite playmate. She and the little sneak spend most days playing with each other and love going after and pranking everyone else. Hide and seek is their favorite game, especially when they sneak out at night to make it more fun. Both children find making mischief is a fabulous pastime and do their best to make other vaiki either laugh aloud or be completely miserable from the pranks. They tend to worry their parents, however, and sometimes get in big trouble when they sneak out and get lost playing. The girls are two peas in a pod and are nearly inseparable when in the same area.
Machina: Machina is a kind of mysterious presence to Thiele. The little vaiki sometimes sees the other when she's being babysat by Flux, as Machina and Flux are close friends. She knows that Machina also works with robotics and finds them just as interesting as Flux to hang out with, though the grey vaiki is even more antisocial than the other. Thiele is constantly asking both them and Flux questions about the robots, though those questions usually go unanswered...
Puppeteer: Puppeteer is Izumi's father and Thiele's main babysitter. She absolutely adores hanging out with him because it means she and Izumi can play. She also thinks of Puppeteer as an uncle, nearly a second parent for herself. Puppeteer treats her like his own children, and is always happy to take her on unless he absolutely can't. Thiele finds his puppets interesting but isn't really into them and sometimes thinks they can be pretty scary. Puppeteer knows not to push her comfort zones and doesn't work on his puppets while around her.
Their biggest dream;; Thiele wants to become a famous scientist and find a way to convert dark matter into energy as well as study it. Like her adoptive mother, the little vaiki has a huge fascination with the universe, though her interest is more in the nonphysical aspects of it. Thiele loves thinking about all of the things that one can't see or really understand and desperately wants to understand them. All of the scientists she's in contact with encourage and help her along as well.
Extras:
"Mother, how are stars made?" The young vaiki chirped at me as we head out on one of our late night walks. I hum thoughtfully, looking at my adopted child with a smile,
"Well, little darling. Stars are made when a great deal of gas and debris are messed with by nearby gravity and start to condense." This answer made her grin and waggle her tail at me happily, then gaze up into the starry sky up above. I take her little paw and we keep walking, having a few moments of silence before Thiele asks another question.
"Mother, how is dark matter made?" this question makes me frown a bit and stop walking for a moment,
"Hm... We aren't really sure, to be honest."This answer makes her gape at me in surprise, then go quiet and muse.
"Do you think I could figure out how it's made? Do you think I could turn it into energy or something?" She asks me softly, tugging at my arm fur to keep my attention as we start walking again. I nod at her, earning a bright grin of excitement.
"I wanna do that." Thiele snuggled into my side as we reached the park, where we were going to spend the night stargazing. I lay out the blanket I brought and settled down onto it, watching the energetic youngster run around and roll in the grass for a few minutes til I call her back,
"Thiele, come sit on the blanket darling!". She darts back to me and clambers onto my back to try and get 'closer' to the sky. I chuckle at her and start naming constellations while having her point out the ones she already knows and tell me when I say a new one so I can show her. We also point out things like the satellites passing overhead every few hours. She's enthusiastic right up until the end, when she starts to get sleepy and wraps her arms gently around my neck for security. I roll up the blanket and start walking home carrying her piggyback. She falls completely asleep around halfway there and I hum softly, adjusting the little one's position to make it more comfortable for me to carry her.
By the time we get home she's still completely crashed out, and I tuck her into bed with her saturn planet plushie. The lights go off and the fake plastic stars she insisted on sticking all over her dark blue ceiling and upper part of her walls glow a faint green-white. I turn on the small moon nightlight by Thiele's bed, knowing that if she suddenly wakes up she'll panic without it there. I go off to do some late night reading and have a cup of tea, not quite as tired as my little one was quite yet.
