Wednesday 16th of May 2001

We discovered a new species today in an abandoned Laboratory in the country. There seems to be no files in existence indicating what the laboratory was there for. With extreme caution we proceeded forwards. The scientists in the expedition did not have to move until the area was declared safe, apparently there were some injuries but I have not seen the extent of them. The spillages were concoctions we had never seen before, but due to them being smashed and leaking into the earth it is almost impossible to determine what chemicals they used from the contamination of the soil and surrounding area. We believed that nothing had been changed or effected from the spillages and were about to begin the clean up when one of the soldiers found a strange fox…

Monday 29th of May 2001

The fox that was found was taken in for experiments, myself being the head scientist I was able to do the experiments myself. From what I can tell so far the foxes have gone under a structural change in their DNA, I hope to gather a male and female specimen to see the effects they have on their offspring. This particular fox which I will call Vulpe101 as of now, only has change to its eye colouring yet the mutation in its DNA lead me to believe that it should be more like a monster. I will call this new species Vulpes.

Tuesday 30th of May 2001

Although I don’t believe in luck, there was some very good news today. It seems that this female’s mate came to look for her and so we managed to capture him. He isn’t very useful though as it turns out the female is already pregnant, it does however mean I may be able to dissect him after the females experiment is complete. I am most interested to see the effect internally that the experiments caused.

Thursday 2nd of June 2001

The amount of time for Vulpe101 to bear its litter was remarkable. It was not even close to the full pregnancy time for an unaffected fox. The most remarkable offspring we discovered this morning, they were in eggs, they were completely covered in what appears to be some kind of stone although I find this unlikely. I will need to run a few tests on whether the offspring are even alive in there. I have decided to leave Vulpe101 to its own devices but will keep it monitored via camera.

Saturday 4th of June 2001

One of the female soldiers disobeyed my orders and went into Vulpe101’s room with her offspring. Vulpe101 reacted to her very well; usually I am not able to get near the female unless she is sedated. Vulpe101 let the soldier come close and touch her eggs, which seemed to react to her touch, the stone casing receding to show a growing Vulpe inside. I was unable to see this via the camera and had to go by the soldiers report, so this information is debatable. The soldier was reluctant to give any information but with a little persuasion of the violent kind she became much more agreeable.

I have taken over the head scientists notes at this point. Soon after he wrote his last report he came down with a severe illness that we have never encountered before. The female soldier has disappeared along with one of Vulpe101’s eggs. The mother does not seem restless or unhappy about this which leads me to wonder whether human interaction is necessary…

After all my research I have come to this conclusion:

Vulpes are protected in their eggs until they hatch. The twisting crystal vines you see upon the eggs are actually sensitive to movement and touch and so when the egg or Vulpe feels threatened it will cover the entirety of the egg shielding the baby Vulpe from all harm. If a baby Vulpe is content with it's owner and feels no danger then the owner will be able to see the Vulpe growing in the strange clear substance.

Research has shown that this clear substance, which surrounds the baby Vulpe, is actually a membrane that breathes for the Vulpe and feeds it until it hatches. Nutrition is already held within this membrane but it seems that depending on the offspring other aspects will help the baby Vulpe grow better. Studies show that for example, if a Vulpe is attuned with a certain element, being near something of that element will encourage fast growth. The egg grows with the Vulpe so when the baby Vulpe is fully-grown the egg will finally break.

‘Owners’ do not get to chose their Vulpes it seems, the Vulpes chose their ‘owner’, I believe what happened to the deceased head scientist is a direct result of him harming the soldier woman who first interacted with an egg. She was obviously chosen and the Vulpe child having a link with her ‘owner’ knew exactly what he had done to her and so punished him.

My theory is because humans left the chemicals that caused the creation of the Vulpes, it requires the touch from a human for a Vulpe to be born. This is why parents will leave their litters in a place where humans will be in the hope that their children will survive.

These Vulpes are highly intelligent. It has been suggested that they should all be terminated but I have over-ruled them. I believe we should take responsibility for the actions of the long dead scientists who created these Vulpes. I have therefore decided to make a sanctuary for these Vulpes, where humans may come if they believe they have pure intentions to befriend one.

Please note that Elixirs will only be able to be used once. Once you have decided what Vulpe to use it on and this has been carried out the Elixir you had in your possession will then be ‘discarded’

Elixir of Appello – Allows you to change the name of a Vulpe you own – Costs 10 elixir points



Elixir of Vestis – Allows you to ask for any item(s) to be added to a Vulpe you own - Costs 40 elixir points



Elixir of Vir and Fem – Allows you to change the gender of any Vulpe you own to male or female (please state which when purchasing) – Costs 15 elixir points



Elixir of Consuetude – Allows you to request the creation of a custom Vulpe (you may not use this Elixir if there are no custom slots available, you will need to wait until slots become available again) – Costs 80 elixir points



Elixir of Futuo - Allows you to breed an already once bred Vulpe. If both Vulpes you want to breed together have already been bred once, you will only require this Elixir once, not one for each Vulpe (you may not use this Elixir if there are no breeding slots available, you will need to wait until slots become available again) - Costs 60 elixir points



Elixir of Servo - Allows you to reserve a slot in the next available litter of Vulpes. Only one is allowed to be activated per litter so please check to see whether you can use it or not. If you make a banner for Engineered Vulpes you will earn 80 Elixir Points. (Only redeemable once).

If you make a banner for the Engineered Vulpes RP you will earn 80 Elixir Points. (Only redeemable once).

For every week that you keep a banner or stamp made for Engineered Vulpes in your signature you will earn 20 Elixir Points.

If you have your own adoptions etc and you have a stamp for Engineered Vulpes in that forum, to advertise Engineered Vulpes, you will earn 20 Elixir Points a week. The stamp/banner etc would need to be on the first page of your forum post.

If you have one of the Forever Free Vulpes, or one of your own, that directly links back here in your signature you will earn 20 Elixir points per week.

Please note that for any of the conditions that require the Vulpes etc in your signature or forum thread, please notify me via PM that you are going to take part in this so that I can keep track of the Elixir points you earn.
