You know I do get the wildest trades for my summer event doubles. I don't blame users. The fae foxes are stunning.
Medieval Faire TuT I was there for that. Listen though. Little Kite was confused! I had no earthly idea what was going on. I just clicked things. I didn't read nothing. I was trading tokens willy nilly. I had so much grass and logs leftover xD ya girl got the royal dog family though. The cats.. uh nah lol. As for the items, I remember specifically refusing to trade my elf item set. Nope too pretty.
Rest of the events slapped too. All the CS summer events have been a hit for me! Very cool to see them all laid out year after year.
Lacuna interview! ok ok. That's relatable Lacuna didn't get hired the first time she applied to staff. I'd find this reassuring if I was a user applying to the latest staff roles and didn't get picked.
Lacuna's motivations are honorable but, with the staff applications open now, it's disheartening to hear the reminder that CS staff is a volunteer position and individuals should have no intent to gain.
I think times are different. Generations now are taught to be wary of volunteering their time, as they should. I would strongly support the shift that staff should seek to gain from their time on CS Staff. Shower them in rewards is what I say! They keep the website I love running.
Reading about the summer event prep work I am a little alarmed one user has full reign over the writing. No other staff submit dressups? Write for shopkeepers? Why not? I would be worried about burnout when all the pressure is on one individual. Also variety is the spice of life. Not to mention, since Lacuna stepped down, we didn't see those cool NPC accounts we had for summer event 2023. I noticed their absence :c I would like to see more staff play a hand in the behind the scenes of summer event prep so if one user has to step back we don't lose features. Ah, seeing behind the curtain there freaked me out T.T I don't want to know if one person holds the cards. Let me be ignorant.
Lacuna sounds like someone I would hang out with. I am not a poetry writer but I can appreciate a good slam! Also shoutout to another novelist, I wish her all the luck! And who knows what the industry has in store, times are changing
