Just a note, the hakari tribe wouldn't have killed the wounded yami wolf. Perhaps it was a bad healer, though.

Many of the hakari are filled with hatred for the yami, but Shiro puts them in their place. He does not want to eliminate them, but instead change their minds. He thinks if he kills Kuro, he will be able to show the others their errors and have them return to him and the light moon spirit. So they are not as hated as you might think! <3
