Hello, aspiring adoptable artists of Chicken Smoothie! Here is your chance to enter the wonderful world of

as a full time or guest artist! We are looking for 7-12 full time artists and up to 10 guest artists! There is plenty opportunity to join the staff, so whip out your mouses and tablets and whatever else you use to draw and click that colormein button! Well, after you read this post, of course!
First, before you enter this competition, it would probably be helpful to acquaint yourself with the lore of these creatures! You don't have to read of this, but it might be helpful for you anyway. It's up to you ^-^

Every time a person wishes on a shooting star, far away, a comet comes crashing down into a clearing known as the stardust grove. After a period of care by you, the artists, these comets crack and the stardust from the comets sink into the ground. The stardust will then form a Velican! The stardust grove is part of the large, mystical, newly discovered constellation forest, where these Velicans roam and live freely. It has been learned that these creatures are mysteriously content around humans, especially (but not only!) humans who are content with themselves. However, scientists who study Veli's have discovered that some Velicans will cling to humans that they want to help feel happier and more loved, just like humans will rush to show them love, too! However, show these creatures hostility, and they can become quite snappy. Be careful and gentle with them, they only want your love!

Veli's have a arctic-fox-like body and a snow-leopard-shaped head with a long, winding, fluffy tail. The ribbons around their tails serve for little more than gender identification (females have bows but males do not), but every Veli is extremely protective over it. They have long thin legs for running long distances, because they love to chase shooting stars. Most of their tails shimmer for seeing in the dark, but many have good night vision and non-sparkly tails. Their antlers are for battle but are never used. The fairy lights strung around their antlers are called star strings, and are essentially what makes them so positive and likable. Without a star string, a Veli can become mopey and angry which can sometimes, though rarely, lead to them to becoming evil. All Velicans have a completely unique constellation on their shoulder blade, like star snowflakes.

With all of that out of the way, here are the guidelines for this contest! Remember, being a staff member is a pretty big responsibility, so please enter if you're sure you can handle it all.
- 1. You may make up to four entries for this contest! One must have no edits, one can only be edited a little (like changing the face or adding a small accessory), but you may edit your other two entries as much as you want. You don't have to make 4 entries to get picked as an artist.
2. Make sure to use a cover if you plan to make more than one entry!
3. These entries are not yours to keep. However, you may use one of your entries as one of your own customs if you are picked as an artist or guest artist.
4. On the post below your cover/entry, please specify whether you'd like to be a guest artist or full artist. Guest artists can make up to seven adoptable Velicans. If you want to be an artist, but all the artist spots are taken and we still like your designs, I will message you to see if you'd rather like to be a guest artist.
5. You may make your own background, but please remember to add "fake" back in somewhere on the entry!
6. Please do not remove the "sig" layer!
7. Make sure every entry has some kind of "constellation marking"! Most Velicans have a constellation marking on their shoulder, and every constellation is unique to each Velican.
8. This may close or open up at anytime! I will give a two day heads-up before it closes or opens. Also, every Saturday, the other co-owners and I will look over the entries to see if there's anyone we want to hire!
9. If you have any questions, feel free to post here or message me!
10. Do your best and good luck everyone!
Important! Things in the contest might change, so you might want to keep up to date with it! Have fun guys!
