Sparrow
After everyone had gone to bed, Pai decided to go out for a walk. He was really upset that he didn't have wings. If he didn't have wings, he couldn't fly, right? Pai kept thinking and thinking and thinking, then all of a sudden, a thought struck him.
"I'll fly without wings. I'll jump from a tree!" said the little wolf. He looked around for a small tree to jump out of, to no prevail.
"How is there no trees?!" he thought to himself. He flopped down on the ground, and continued to ponder. Then he let out a sigh, and looked up at the sky. Then he jumped up, and saw the moon, brightly shining in the sky, bordered by stars.
Pai smiled, took a deep breath, and howled at the moon.
In that howl, he let out his pain, happiness, guilt, relief, and all his emotions.
The pain- he was left as a pup. Sparrow thought he was dead.
The happiness- he had a family, a mother, father, and a loving sister.
The guilt- getting upset so easily.
The relief- the howling at the moon, the getting away from it all.
The emotions- everything else.
As he finished howling, he saw that Rin was stumbling to him, rubbing her eye with a paw.
"Pai, what are you doing?" Rin said, half asleep and yawning. Pai smiled at her.
"Just letting it out." he said. Then Rin covered her mouth.
"That's gross! You didn't have to tell me that!"
Pai laughed. "Not that kind of letting it out. Letting go of my feelings, what I'm holding in, by howling at the moon. You should try it. It really does help. I promise. You should go back inside."
Rin nodded, and went back in.
For the last few moments Pai was outside, he looked up at the moon, closed his eyes, and thought what it would be liked with wing. But from out of nowhere, a deep growling sound came from inside the cave. Then he saw these awful red eyes glow from out of the cave. What is it?!
